Choreographers: Sima Maleki and Hengameh Modaresi. Director of video: Dave Slay. Produced by the facilities of TVCTV, Beaverton. Proceded by My Iran TV Portland Oregon.
MY Dance
My dance is an homage to the history of Persian dance which flourished twice in our history once during the Hakhamaneshian (Achemanides) Dynasty, called court dance and later during Qajar Dynasty or harem dance due to their movements and characteristic of the dances. My Dance finishes with the movements from our folk dances which has been part of our nomadic life for centuries.

I didn't know that Ghajari's lived in Portland too! It has nothing to do with Ghajari dance, but starts with Pantomime and finishes with mixture of Kurdish and Mazani dance.

@Mrcambyses1 I have a CD with Mommamad-Reza Shajarian and the Kamkars group. It's called "Shab, sokoot, kavir". I think this piece is from that album.

I am not an expert, but the orange one's dress with crown seems to be from pre-islamic era of Sassanid (226-651 - about 1,500 years ago).
But the shorter girl appear to dress as pos-Islamic era of Qajar dynasty which, ended about 85 years ago (1792-1925)

Qajar (Ghajar) dynasty is not irani or farsi origin . The Qajar dynasty (originated from Oghuz meaning "escapes") was an Azerbaijanian royal family of Turkic descent who ruled in modern Iran (including Southern Azerbaijan) from 1785 to 1925 .

this is a north khorasan dance (kormanj)music it is noting to do with Ghajar(!!!!???) dance, choreographer WAS VERY ILLITERATE , BETTER HE OR SHE have A LITTLE MORE TRAINING, specially when we see very good dance created in north America, this low quality dance is really embarrassing.

خیلی مبتذل بود.. رقصی که داشتن به موسیقی کیهان کلهر هیچ ربطی نداشت.. اساسا موسیقی کلهر برای این کار ساخته نشده.. درسته که موسیقی اوین کار کار خوبیه ولی دلیل نمی شه که بشه باهاش رقصید.. و البته ظرافت رقص ایرانی رو نابود کرده
sorry to say the dance is not match with music, the music is Kurdish folk music on north khorasan, and they have beautiful dances with made for this music, and the other hand the choreographer was very illiterate, there was no chemistry and passion in dancers, please do not put these in youtube make Iranians more shameful, we are better artists than what you present here
