Family of U.S. Marine Killed in Afghanistan Reveals Biden's Shock Response

- "Our lives will never be the same." Christy Shamblin, whose daughter-in-law, Marine Sergeant Nicole Gee, was one of the 13 American service members killed in an ISIS-K terror attack during the chaotic August 2021 U.S. pullout from Afghanistan, is still processing such a monumental, earth-shattering loss. "She was our light, but she was also a light for so many other people," Shamblin told CBN News. "We've changed everything about how we live with her loss. We won't be the same people ever again."
Shamblin's raw pain is still evident. And yet the undaunted and brave Gold Star family member has spent the past two-and-a-half years sharing about Gee, critiquing the U.S. government's widely rebuked pullout, and demanding answers. The impact of Gee's death on Shamblin was immeasurably clear and present throughout the conversation, with her praise for the late soldier's character radiating through. "Nicole ... was a superstar," Shamblin said. "She was dynamic and amazing. She had a positive mental attitude and she expressed that to everybody she came in contact with."
She said Gee was incredibly proud of her service in the Marine Corps and at Abbey Gate, where the deadly bombing unfolded. "She knew she was saving lives and she was extremely proud," Shamblin said. "And there's nothing you want more for your kids than to have them be proud of what they're doing." Nearly three years later, Shamblin said processing the loss of Gee and all that unfolded in Afghanistan is "a work in progress." She and her family members were so proud of Gee's passion and bravery, thus the loss, in light of Gee's love for her work, sparked a "bittersweet feeling" in the wake of her killing - a mixture of pride and lament.
Shamblin was in attendance during President Joe Biden's State of the Union address earlier this month, which she called "disheartening," yet predictable. "I have pretty low expectations these days," Shamblin said, noting she "wasn't surprised" by Biden's SOTU speech. "He ... it doesn't flow together. It's not relevant what he's speaking about - to what is in the room, to what's happening in the country." She continued, "I feel like he's disconnected from what the people are concerned about. And it's hard to see that. ... I think that, largely, they've lost sight that ... the people that fight these wars are young men and women who sacrifice their lives and they don't get the respect. We don't even get attention from our administration much less respect." Watch her explain.

I know as a mother of 3 that my last thought would have been "Omg, I will never see my baby again". I can imagine the horror at the end would have been that she must survive so she could get back home. Until you visit another country- not on a cruise or in a lavish hotel, you are shocked to realize how much you love America. I was in Germany for a month and when I got off the plane I kissed the ground.

My Marine daughter was Nicole's bunker mate and knew her to be an exemplary Marine. My husband and I didn't even know where their ship was. It wasn't until our daughter returned home that we found out later. But what breaks my heart is that she told us it could have been her sent instead of Nicole. I still get chills and turned to our Lord and Savior bc of Nicole and your familys' sacrifice. I will seek Nicole when we are taken home. In the meantime please stay strong in the Lord. Many have come to Jesus bc of the bravery of Nicole and your familyGod bless.

Bagram should have been used. Why they didn’t use that facility is beyond baffling.
Well if you really want to know, two reasons. One it would have been a full on siege on the same scale as Khe Sanh, which would have led to thousands of our boys dying defending it from the fanatical Taliban, and here's the 2nd reason and why that was never even a possibility: the troops were already out, the main purpose was to evacuate civilians.
You can't have any way for civilians to safely get to a fortified U.S. military base surrounded by and in a country controlled by the Taliban. They would have tried to reach it anyway, and TENS of thousands of civilians would have perished in the crossfire.
There was no other possibility after we abandoned the ANA and after they subsequently lost.
The "US" military should have never been in Afghanistan to begin with.

If Biden had operated from a position of strength we could have laid out all the terms to the Taliban. Whimpering JB caved and walked with his tail between legs. I attended the funeral procession of one of those killed in that mess..it was heartbreaking yet also encouraging in the incredible turnout for the deceased young man….

I live in South East Asia. A few days before the incident II saw a footage of US troops surrounded by hundreds at the airport. I wondered what kind of arrangement is this. Sure, it will be a target. And so it was. I'm surprised the "top guns" lacked foresight.

I feel so badly for this family who lost an intragal member for no good reason whatsoever. From London, I've met Afghanistans , and they told me of the Taliban waiting for the boys to come out of the school and then blowing up ,the girls coming out.when the Taliban came back to Kabul, dragging girls out from there homes, beating a comedian to death,the look on the face of the female Afghanistan tv ancers, as they try to carry on presenting the news , in the freedom that America, through this mother's, daughter's sacrifice ,gave them,but the fear, and realization that this would not happen.the trajody of all of the lives that were lost, and all the hope for freedom that was lost as well.
