The comment from STG was Navy flake PS400 being the same as Sutliff 507c

But Navy Flake has Perique in it…507 doesn’t?

OK, you guys are doing exactly what I was hoping someone would do! One of my favorites is Orlik Golden slice, and you did a nice reference to that in comparison with why you are smoking.
I’m also looking for a replacement for vanilla roll cake!

Jeremy M at Sutliff said they’ve been buying 507c from STG for 20 years and it’s the same as LNF. He also said neither has perique. This was all mentioned on the Greywoodie podcast recently.

I canned Peter Stokkebye Luxury Twist Flake bulk three and a half years ago. When I opened the Mason jar last week, the lid exploded off and flew five feet. This was probably the result of secondary anaerobic fermentation. Be careful when you open your jar.

I bought a 1 1/2 pounds of twist flake last year to age and I’m very happy I did. I have a 4ish year old sample that I dive into every once in a while and I still really enjoy it. Sad to see all the HH lines leaves. Wish I had bought a pound of the each one.

This was one of the first blends I really loved. Very enjoyable sweetness, I find it easy to smoke. Also probably the best looking flakes there are.
Personally I enjoy ps403 and ps400 more but all three are delicious and the value is unbeatable.
My favorite straight Virginia is is still Mac baren Virginia no1 😢

I’ve smoked about 3-pounds of this in the past six years. Easily in my top-5 tobaccos of all time; buttery, creamy and pleasant. Have it in the morning with a cup of black coffee and you’ll thank me later!

Peterson Irish Flake might be a good alternative to Old Dark Fired. They are different but comparable. Irish flake is probably less dark and more floral, but in the same vein.

Anyone know a replacement for the sutliff great outdoors blend? Is my favorite supposed to be a match for the old field and stream blend.
