  • The National Pyrotechnic Festival (Spanish: Feria Nacional de la Pirotecnia) takes place in Tultepec Mexico, this is an annual event to promote the country's tradition of production and use of fireworks.
It began as a celebration in honor of John of God, the patron saint of fireworks makers back in the early 19th century, in the municipality of Tultepec, State of Mexico, which produces about three-quarters of all Mexico’s fireworks.
The modern national festival began in 1989 and includes various events including fireworks competitions and the stunning and beautiful "Castillos" (castles) Castillos are frames made of wood, reed and paper to which thousands of various fireworks are affixed.
The fireworks are set off to make images and/or parts of the Castillo structure spin and move and even fly as you will see in this video.
The Castillos created for this event measure between 25 meters (82 ft) and 30 meters (98 ft) high, requiring about fifteen days to build. When ignited, they take between 20-30 minutes to fire off all the pyrotechnic sequences.
These are works of art and the only other country that does anything like this, on a smaller scale is Malta.
All the video footage was taken over many years using a variety of cameras, from GoPro Her 4 and 5's plus Sony Handycam and Samsung Galaxy mobile phones, Galaxy 7 to my current Galaxy S9+
