From what I've seen most musicians are very appreciative of other people's work. You're just paying attention to asshole musicians, I guess.

their music isn't my style, but i love listening to them talk about genres they're definitely really passionate about music and how it works technically. I'd love to hear more of their commentary
I mean if it's the screams that bother you, they have stuff with little to no screaming with amazing singing and lyrics. Usually when I suggest people metal music it's usually screaming. I literally had to constantly expose myself to screaming non stop for a good few months before I got used to it

The other day I told my mom that it took a while to get used to it and she said "But you want to get used to that?" Honestly, screaming isn't my favourite thing, but if the music is good, I'm gonna listen to it regardless.

For real, they should've picked Blonde or Watch What Happens Next. Both Periphery and Waterparks are two of my favorite bands so I still fanboyed hard when I saw the thumbnail

I listen to all kinds of music but mostly under the Metal genre, however twenty one pilots is one of my favorite bands and it's awesome to see a band like Periphery recognize their talent.

Kodringo It was actually our office guitar. We shot two segments with them and in between the two, he was composing music. It was actually amazing. 🤘

P S can’t a big company like AP get away with that? Genius and Complex show reactions with music all the time. If a bunch of youtubers who are just regular people sitting at home can play music during their reactions, why can’t a big company like AP? Just makes the video very underwhelming
Possibly so the viewer goes and gives those tracks their own plays, therefore increasing SEO and potentially discovering more of their product.
@@USHARDY It's precisely for the reason that you're describing that they can "get away" with it as less views = less of stake. The main thing we should always keep in mind is that "intellectual property" and copyrights are bullshit and only a necessity in our equally bullshit economic framework.

I find that a lot of metal or rock musicians have very diverse musical tastes and can unironically enjoy a variety of music genres.
Kind of the opposite for some (not all) pop-musicians or hip-hop artists; they'll listen to metal and go "Ew, it's just noise."
