You can totally tell how drapey it is once you washed and dried it. It looks softer on your arms as you were touching it.
    Your knitting is beautiful.
I'm so glad you did this video.

I really like RHSS. It's a nice budget friendly yarn and allows people with little money to make their own projects. It's amazing how much it softens up in the wash and you can throw it in the dryer on low heat and it does just fine, though it will pill a bit. You can't beat the value and the color selection is awesome. :)

I recently bought Lion Brand Pound of Love…1020 yards per ball for $6.99 at my Joanns. Worked up a simple sweater by The Drunken Knitter and it’s one of my most loved pieces! So low maintenance and so surprisingly soft and cozy!! I feel like it’s comparable to what you have there! Hey a $7 investment for a great washable sweater is great!

As I said earlier, I use a lot of SS. It’s true that the yarn is a little stiffer than others, but once you wash it and dry it with the dryer sheet or in soften the water, you will find that your item are nice and soft and squishy.

Hi, my name is Sandy and I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am 80 years old, and have been using red heart urine for a very long time. I stopped using yarn for period of time when I took up quilting. When I return to Crochet And knitted items, I reach for my red heart. Some of the super saver yarn were hard to use. They hurt my hands so I looked for alternatives. As time went on I have noticed that super saver has gotten a lot softer. And I know that if I make a hat or a scarf or a blanket with it, all I have to do is wash it and dryer with my dryer sheets and it will be super soft and squishy. That was a nice surprise when I gave up quilting in return to crochet and knitting.
I use a lot of super saver. I think that is because is it so readily available, and not expensive. It also has a lot of really great colors and there is a variety of types of urine to choose from. I also enjoy lion Brand yarns. They are usually soft , and they have great colors. On the other hand, I have to admit that more often than not reach for red heart super saver. You got a good bang for your book, and, once you have washed and dried it, you will love how it feels. I do a lot of charity work, so it is important to me that I get a good value, and that the finished product be soft and welcoming. My motto is that if it is not good enough for my grandchildren, it won’t be good enough for yours, so I feel confident That red heart super saver, blankets and hats will be soft and squishy when they are gifted.
Yes, I do remember when using supers receiver, especially some of the darker stripes, would make my hands ache. But that is no longer the case, and I am so glad. There is a reason that red heart super saver is largest selling yarn on the American market. I hate to see people put it down.\
Do I enjoy the more expensive soft yarn? Of course I do, who wouldn’t? And I have my favorites. But I’m more often than not for my brightly colored super savers. Most of my work is geared toward children and babies so I know that they will appreciate Simple designs and break colors.
I greatly appreciated, red heart bright colors when my children were young, and I could spot them easily, because they were wearing brightly colored hats that I made myself. I learned that they hated wearing those hats, but they did serve a purpose. I am visually impaired, so it was important to me that I’d be able to see where my children were at all times. 😊

It can be a great yarn! One issue with it I’ve noticed is that the dark vs light colors have a HUGE difference in scratchiness. I can’t remember which is which but that was an issue I found with it

I actually remember this from when I first started! I made a HUGE blanket and the black that I used was FAR more scratchy. Wonder if I should investigate this further 🕵️

We inherited a bunch of navy and white super saver yarn from a friend and I’m crocheting a striped blanket out of it, and there’s a BIG difference in texture between the two colors. The navy is much more smooth and bouncy while the white is a little squeaky and scratchier. Im interested in seeing what it turns out like after washing.
