This song was first done by Diana Ross in 1980 for the movie Its My Turn. I love both versions and with each version you get a different emotion. To me Aretha never had a bad hit she knew how to take a song and make it her very on. And to me thats what makes a legendary singer one who can sing a song by another artist and turn it into a whole different masterpiece. WOW! I love this version, I love both and I don’t mean that in the competitive way catty fans do. I appreciate it how Aretha and Diana approached this song completely differently and in a way that was unique to their styles as singers. I love when artist have their own musical identities.
