Wow. Just what I was searching for. I’m taking my first pottery class using the wheel. But what I truly want to make is a sink for my home and preferable an art design. I have a friend that makes bowls and sinks with rhubarb leaves. This is wonderful
Wow, Steve those are beautifully glazed. I noticed you don't mind sharing your glaze recipes!! I would love to have them as well. By the way, I really like how you do your videos with showing all 3 steps in one. Great instructional. Thanks for your generosity.
Beautiful work! Is the Hosta bowl form you used a bisque fired bowl? Is looks so smooth, like plaster...? Maybe I missed this part, but did you fire the bowl inside of the form?
I like your video, it's precise and really helps to learn the method. But what kinds of glaze did you use? Te one ypu were pouring all over is transparent but the previous one? It looks as if you used two colours of glazes.. Did I miss something? Greetings and thanks for the video:)

I like the bowl, but the glaze is hideous, reminds me of 1970's ashtrays. Definitely change the glazing colors please. And I'm not trying to be Rude, but my Art teacher said many years ago, if you put your work out for public display expect some constructive criticism. But I like the technic.
What family/variety of Hosta it that supposed to be modeled after? My wife and I have raised every US imported Hosta you can get your hands on for nearly 50 years. I have never seen a Hosta leaf look like that with the wavy edges. Colors are too dark and glaze is too shiny. Looks like a Art class project from High school. Spice up the colors to be more real life like and change/tone down the glaze.
thank you for showing the video from start to finish. Always nice to see the finished product. Two thumbs up

is it me or does he sound like Shane Dawson
It is shane d, he's been living a double life for quite some time now.
Yep, both are transparent glazes and i self-mixed. I'd be happy to share the recipes if you fire cone 5-6 oxidation. thanks for your comments..
