This video is insanely underrated. I love your approach to analyzing Kanyes work and thoughts, and we share a strong disdain for the immature people that refuse to listen to interesting analyses in favor of whining about the obvious problems with Kanye’s personality. This is very very well put together.
Kanye is probs the most discussed and analyzed musical artist on RUclips, but you managed to find a new perspective on him. I've never thought about Kanye's father issues, and I don't recall anyone else discussing it either. "Only God can praise me" That's a powerful summary. Gonna have to give this video multiple views
Hey man, when you mentioned how JIK was him trying to clean up his music, I just recalled the comment Kim and Kanye made on architectural digest about how they've been playing JIK a lot at home. It's literally him trying to swap out the playboy magazine of his music for something wholesome and friendly, and playing those songs instead and encouraging them to be religious and follow god instead of listening to the lesser than PG stuff op yeezus or mbdtf. Violent crimes was him reflecting and realising that he's a shit being until he becomes a dad and literally begging his kids to not grow up too fast and to remain innocent and sheltered at much as they can from the inherent sexism and racism his daughters would face. It kind of makes sense why he decided to censor the swears on Donda last minute as well.
Fatherhood has been taken from the average black Male in this country or we don't allow our perception to see the importance in 2021, but we understand why! Now Black women can contribute greatly to this being a past memory...We'll see 👀

A lot of rappers are married, do they really rap about their wives and kids?
*Chance the Rapper has entered the chat*
Incredible. Why don't you write this up and submit it to journals?
I think seeing him in his robe, unedited, is part of what makes it great

Watching this in 2024, professor skye was wrong about this being Kanye’s turning point. Tbf though Kanye’s story has so many
