The 3’s look like a great deal. But after working road construction for 2 years using my pro’s instead of just normal hearing protection because they actually do a better job plus I can listen to music and get my texts announced to me, they’ve literally changed my life 😅 I can’t wait for the Pro 2’s.

@TheEditor107 just the normal roll in ones. Of course they don’t block everything out, but if you got some music playing, it basically blocks 90% of it and doesn’t destroy the ear drums
AirPods Pro imo is worth more especially for the price (on sale for $189) and ANC is a must if you travel often on buses, trains, or airplanes or workout at the gym. Also, you can find your AirPods Pro or have them make sounds while they’re in the case now

It all comes down to each person fit preference. I tried the Pro’s and did not like the silicone in ear fit at all! I’ve had the 2’s for awhile now with no issues. Even dropped one in the toilet which caused the sound to mess up but then it recovered back to normal after it dried out completely within a week! Thinking about getting 3’s
The AirPods 3 are what I've been waiting for since my AirPods 2 went into the wash last year and lost the mic functionality as a result. The skin sensors are one of the most underrated feature as I tend to throw the AirPods in my pocket ALL THE TIME. Very informative review as always. First you sold me on the 16GB M1 Mac Mini and now the AirPods 3 haha. This is one of the greatest consumer level channels ever. Keep up the consistently great work guys!
Realy nice that you mention the open design. For me at least, that's their biggest point, I just like the feel and sound quality of the old-school earbuds, like in those walk-man days. I can't stand the new noise-cancelling earphones everyone is forcing, it's like sitting in a submarine, a horrible feeling. Also, those not noise-cancelling ones are great for the road part ride to an Mtb trail. All in all, you made my decision much easier!

After driving myself crazy watching review after review trying to figure out which one to buy I finally just went and bought both of them, tested them out, and will return one. The pros are better. They both fit great, so no complaints there on either one. But the pros sound better. It’s not just bass, the threes have a lot of bass, but the pros have more depth. The noise cancellation doesn’t really matter to me but I guess it’s cool to have. But for someone that just bought both of them and try them both out, I say go with the pros. Update three weeks later… I love the pros! The noise canceling is great to have. It puts you in your own little bubble. Great for the gym. But to me Transparency mode is where it’s at! Transparency mode doesn’t get enough hype. It’s awesome! It uses the microphone to actually let in more sound so you can hear what’s going on around you. I can use it to transcribe music now. Something I couldn’t do with original AirPods. Even the off mode is good. Cuts out a lot of noise and sounds good. Plus saves battery.
As far as sound quality they sound the same, the big difference would be the ANC and the fit. Fit is dependent on the users ears. So that just depends on the person, if you have big ears then definitely get the pros

AirPods Pro for the sound quality definitely. They are terrible for phone calls. If you are in a loud environment your caller will hear everything but you. They are the worst audio device I’ve ever used for phone calls. I don’t know why Apple can’t get this right on something this expensive. My old Samsung EarPods had better call quality.

Disagree. The 3s are of no use on trains, buses, planes as you hear every bit of engine noise. The sound leakage is really selfish too for others sat near to you. Never been a fan of balancing on the ear type of earphones. The Pro's are pretty perfect for my traveling, skateboarding and HIIT running :)

Try the beats fit pro's They're they best for the money . They're louder and the sound quality is twice as good . I've have both and without a doubt the beats are superior. 👌👍

Coming from first gen airpods after 3 1/2 years this was an excellent upgrade ! The battery life is phenomenal and I’ve yet to get my battery bellow 20% Spatial audio is really great for music it you put it on fixed mode and great for films on normal mode - only problem I’d have is they don’t fit as snuggly as the first gen (personally ) but that all depends on ear size. Outside noise coming in is definitely a factor but these earphones to me at least, are more for gen 1/2 users who haven’t had ANC not pro users
I carry AirPod Pros and AirPod 3s with me most of the time. I love prefer the sound of the 3s but use the pros if I need transparency or noise cancelling.
I have the 3 since launch and I can confirm that it sounds really good for a headphone that doesn't have silicon tips, great battery and nice comfort. They're larger than the 2s but you'll get used to that quickly. If you have the 2s differently worth the upgrade but if you have the pros and you care about the ANC then skip it.

ive ditched my pros as well, dont really care for the ANC because i mostly use them on short trips like going to the mall plus i have an XM4. and for me the 3 have a way boomy bass than the flat sound on the pros. despite what the frequency shows XD
I was going to buy Airpods Pro but then found some good clones (Navapods). Everything is literally the same as on the original airpods but they cost only 60$ I think. Crazy. Sure, sound isn't exactly the same as on my friend's original airpods pro but he paid so much more lol. I'd say the sound quality is about 80% compared to retails. Even the active noise cancelling works lmao.
I'll never use headphones without ANC again. Period. I'm looking forward to the new Pros with the new features, and also the smaller case of the Pros fits better in the small watch pockets of my Jeans. Thanks for your review!
Lack of noise cancellation and how the audio bleeds out of then makes them a deal breaker, especially as right now Amazon have been selling the Pros for cheaper than the AirPod 3. The only real benefit is the extra battery life and that's about it but I definitely wouldn't pay more for them than the Pros. BTW you can use precision finding using the AirPod Pros if you have an iPhone 12 or 13, I used it today and the iPhone was able to tell me which room my left and right AirPod were as I had them in different rooms
Precision finding is also obviously available on iPhone 11 and i can also use it on my iPhone as precision finding for AirPods Pro do not require the U1 chip as it cannot tell the distance with mm precision.
For a lot of people, even if you wanted to use the new AirPods 3, you can’t because they don’t stay in your ears. I just bought another set of the Pro’s, as my 2 year old set died. The only competitive product I considered were the new Beats version, but with the holiday deals on the AirPod Pros, it was hard to say no to paying $159 for a new set with the MagSafe charging case.
I have had some Sony earbuds with a tip as well the last year. Tried Airpods 1 a long time ago, and I always felt like I was about to drop them. I figured the new 3 would fit better, so went ahead and bought a pair. I didn't even make it home, before I had put them up for sale. Same exact problem. Bought Pros instead, and they fit like a glove
I can’t believe how bad the mic sounds on all AirPods! It is so much worse than the wired EarPods. No idea why they had to cut all the high frequencies!
Still not a fan of the AirPods 3. The lack of noise cancellation and no in-ear fit means they will fall off, despite Apple's attempt to make them "fit" better.
The one thing that isn't really mentioned, is that the Airpods Pro have what seems to me as a 'vented' kind of design, even though they are 'sealed' by the silicon. This means that when you put them into your ears, they don't create that 'pressure' feeling that every other silicon earphone seems to create. Which is fantastic.
The only deal breaker between the pros and and 3s were literally just the ear tips. Airpods 2s hurt my ears, and I know the airpods 3s would too, so I picked up some airpods pros and the sound quality is actually pretty decent.
I would have limited use for AirPods 3 because of the open ear design. I almost always need some form of noise cancellation be it passive or ANC, most of the time passive is good enough with the Pro's

My fav true wireless earbuds so far. Absolutely love the AirPods 3‘s neutral airy sound. Super happy they fit my ears. Prefer them over the Pros, and all other true wireless buds I‘ve ever had, and I tried quite a few.
Ugh, I do not like when other people, especially say in an elevator or when commuting, have their music bleeding out of their ears to the point that everyone near them can hear what they're playing. So I also do not like myself blasting off my playlist to other people all because my earphones leak excess noise out. That's why I always love in-ear ones, esp AirPods pro with its ANC.
The fact that apple air pods can be the 32nd largest company if it was a separate entity is insane. But I’m not replacing my pros with the 3rd gen. Noise cancelation and it has way more features like in the setting.
Everything mention is quite accurate till the microphones. I always get complains on how poor the quality is when I have to speak though the airpods. You need to be in a quiet room to have an acceptable quality. Definitely no where near the wired earpods or handset move.
honestly the audio quality is much more crisp on the AirPods Pro compared to the AirPods generation 3. on the contrary, the gen 3 AirPods do take the dub as far as comfort wise!
Not sure I would ever prefer earphones without ANC again. The option of having it gives the AirPods Pro more versatility and a whole lot more of use scenarios.
The AirPod 3’s fit so well that even if I’m not playing music, I can already barely hear outside noises. Put a song or a vid on and I can’t hear anything but the audio playing.
I upgraded my Airpods 2 to AirPods 3 and they are really step up, much better sound, better bass, better design, spatial is great.. Even better fit in my ear. Thank you apple!

In terms of comfort in the ear only, they are my favorite. However, in my opinion the best ever AirPods to get are the AirPods Pro. These are the AirPods I own now. And even if they feel less comfortable in my ears (the fact that they enter the hole of my ear felt weird to me at first), they are a miracle in terms of sound quality and features. I sold my AirPods 2nd gen since I wrote this post and purchase AirPods Pro instead. They are insanely good.
Disagree, I got my AirPods Pro for $159 so the $9 difference in price makes the Pro's a much better buy with all the features, my only disappointment so far is that I am charging the Pro's case more frequently then I did on my Air Pods 2.

Hey max tech, great video, I have a question about the audio bleed, on a scale of 1/10 how bad was it? My current 2nd gen AirPods have this problem and apple just says to get a new pair which I’ll probably do but please let me know.
Not sure it’s a flaw as such. It’s just basic physics if you have silicone ear tips like iPod pro 2 then the sound waves get funnelled directly into ear canal if you get gen 3 without silicone ear tips then sound will go in general direction but be less focused. Impossible for it to be anything else without ear tips. I love my new gen 3 airpods I dont need noise cancellation and as for sound bleed its minimal I have asked people around me if they can tell what I am listening to or if they can hear them and unless they sitting in my lap they cant 😂. Pro 2 has enhanced speaker/hardware but I think its tips that make them better for the audiophiles
I did the opposite, I returned AirPods Gen 3 and Got AirPods Pro with Magsafe for $159, While I was using AirPods Gen 3 They always fell out of my ears and I just realized ANC is needed when I traveling on the plane. Only one downside of the AirPods Pro is less battery life compared to AirPods Gen 3
Mine too. I’ll pick up the pros when they come out, but until then, these are perfect in every situation. They also almost get me through an entire night of sleep - ambient noise and they’re so small I don’t feel them in my ear as much as any other AirPod. And a lot of us know the AirPods Pro do not have a great track record. My sound quality went to sh7t a year ago. They sound great if I don’t move my head.
Why do reviewers complain about earbuds with no seal that don't have Noise cancelling, Airpods 1, 2, and 3, and Galaxy Buds live aren't meant to be use with Noise cancelling, that is why I carry on my shirt pocket the Lives and the Pros (samsung) so when I need NC I grab the pros, and when I need to talk to people I use the Lives.
I totally agree. I researched 1st before getting the pro or 3. 3 has a lot of great reviews. Battery and audio wise, 3 is better. Pro models kind of make me feel uncomfortable due to the deafening feels. Besides, 3 is a lil cheaper. Injust got my 3 yesterday and absolutely no regrets
Looking to buy my very first AirPods and would mainly be using around the house for calls. When watching videos including yours the call quality seems to be better on the AirPod 3’s. I may try the 3’s and see if they fit… do you think they fit smaller ears? If you are already on a call (iPhone) and remove the AirPod 3’s from the case do they automatically connect to the call? What if the AirPods were outside the case on a table? Thanks!
One of the pair dies one month after use. The left one had held up recently, but the right one is cursed with failure. Both sides have failed at one time or another. Have to keep replacing every few weeks under AppleCare+.
Got a pair of 3rd gen today. Love them. Sound is good. Price is ok. Team up perfectly with iphone (no surprise there) fit perfect in my average girly ears so anyone women out there wondering if they will fit give them a go they seem to be fine and I am very fussy about comfort. I forgot they in and prefer idea I can hear my environment but if you getting the train everyday or in loud urban traffic on your way to work maybe iPod pro 2 better.
AirPods 3 are a rip-off, there are Beats Studio Buds that are half the price and come with noise cancellation... AirPods are simply for people who want to show off white ear buds and look cool wearing them, but they are not a smart buy.... (or de Beats Fit Pro, which costs almost the same as AirPods 3 and are better on everything).

I have an iPhone and use air pod pros, but I never understood why so many think they sound soooo great. I mean they sound good but the noise cancelling still let’s enough come through and they don’t compare sound wise to my Bose.
I normally agree with you on a lot of things but I would say the Mics on AirPods are not good as someone who spends hours on the phone a day. People can tell when I switch from my regular phone to AirPods. The difference is very noticeable.
Kind of spurprised watching this video... After using my 3's for around 2 months, I noticed that the sound quality sucks. I literally hear no bass at all. Not just minimal, I mean like no bass. The highs are way too high, and when I'm listening to music it just doesn't balance with high volumes and the highs just peak and it's such an uncomfortable experience.

Did you watch the video? He covered this. He said he uses his Pros while vacuuming, mowing the lawn or wherever noise cancelation is needed.

I have both since price drop. They both are great ear buds depending on where you are using them. ANC is a must when in certain situations.

So I think you should buy the cheapest silicone tips headphones in the store and check it your self if you feel ok with it then I think you should buy the pro’s if you feel so uncomfortable and have really bad feeling (like me) then buy the 3’s

Try the beats fit pro's They're they best for the money . They're louder and the sound quality is twice as good . I've have both and without a doubt the beats are superior. 👌👍

Coming from first gen airpods after 3 1/2 years this was an excellent upgrade ! The battery life is phenomenal and I’ve yet to get my battery bellow 20% Spatial audio is really great for music it you put it on fixed mode and great for films on normal mode - only problem I’d have is they don’t fit as snuggly as the first gen (personally ) but that all depends on ear size. Outside noise coming in is definitely a factor but these earphones to me at least, are more for gen 1/2 users who haven’t had ANC not pro users
Totally agree mate. Traded in my 1st gen APs and dithering whether to get these or the pros but went for 3s, battery life was a determining factor 👍🏻

I carry AirPod Pros and AirPod 3s with me most of the time. I love prefer the sound of the 3s but use the pros if I need transparency or noise cancelling.
I have the 3 since launch and I can confirm that it sounds really good for a headphone that doesn't have silicon tips, great battery and nice comfort. They're larger than the 2s but you'll get used to that quickly. If you have the 2s differently worth the upgrade but if you have the pros and you care about the ANC then skip it.

ive ditched my pros as well, dont really care for the ANC because i mostly use them on short trips like going to the mall plus i have an XM4. and for me the 3 have a way boomy bass than the flat sound on the pros. despite what the frequency shows XD
I was going to buy Airpods Pro but then found some good clones (Navapods). Everything is literally the same as on the original airpods but they cost only 60$ I think. Crazy. Sure, sound isn't exactly the same as on my friend's original airpods pro but he paid so much more lol. I'd say the sound quality is about 80% compared to retails. Even the active noise cancelling works lmao.
I'll never use headphones without ANC again. Period.

Lack of noise cancellation and how the audio bleeds out of then makes them a deal breaker, especially as right now Amazon have been selling the Pros for cheaper than the AirPod 3. The only real benefit is the extra battery life and that's about it but I definitely wouldn't pay more for them than the Pros.
BTW you can use precision finding using the AirPod Pros if you have an iPhone 12 or 13, I used it today and the iPhone was able to tell me which room my left and right AirPod were as I had them in different rooms
Precision finding is also obviously available on iPhone 11 and i can also use it on my iPhone as precision finding for AirPods Pro do not require the U1 chip as it cannot tell the distance with mm precision.

For a lot of people, even if you wanted to use the new AirPods 3, you can’t because they don’t stay in your ears. I just bought another set of the Pro’s, as my 2 year old set died. The only competitive product I considered were the new Beats version, but with the holiday deals on the AirPod Pros, it was hard to say no to paying $159 for a new set with the MagSafe charging case.

I have had some Sony earbuds with a tip as well the last year. Tried Airpods 1 a long time ago, and I always felt like I was about to drop them. I figured the new 3 would fit better, so went ahead and bought a pair. I didn't even make it home, before I had put them up for sale. Same exact problem. Bought Pros instead, and they fit like a glove

I can’t believe how bad the mic sounds on all AirPods! It is so much worse than the wired EarPods. No idea why they had to cut all the high frequencies!
Still not a fan of the AirPods 3. The lack of noise cancellation and no in-ear fit means they will fall off, despite Apple's attempt to make them "fit" better.
The one thing that isn't really mentioned, is that the Airpods Pro have what seems to me as a 'vented' kind of design, even though they are 'sealed' by the silicon. This means that when you put them into your ears, they don't create that 'pressure' feeling that every other silicon earphone seems to create. Which is fantastic.

The only deal breaker between the pros and and 3s were literally just the ear tips. Airpods 2s hurt my ears, and I know the airpods 3s would too, so I picked up some airpods pros and the sound quality is actually pretty decent.

I would have limited use for AirPods 3 because of the open ear design. I almost always need some form of noise cancellation be it passive or ANC, most of the time passive is good enough with the Pro's
I agree the noise cancellation is big, but the crappy call quality is killing me. Why can’t Apple do both, especially for hardware this expensive.

My fav true wireless earbuds so far. Absolutely love the AirPods 3‘s neutral airy sound. Super happy they fit my ears. Prefer them over the Pros, and all other true wireless buds I‘ve ever had, and I tried quite a few.

I’ve switched to the 3s for everyday use. But i still use my Pros when I’m on an airplane or mowing the lawn.
Ugh, I do not like when other people, especially say in an elevator or when commuting, have their music bleeding out of their ears to the point that everyone near them can hear what they're playing. So I also do not like myself blasting off my playlist to other people all because my earphones leak excess noise out. That's why I always love in-ear ones, esp AirPods pro with its ANC.
The fact that apple air pods can be the 32nd largest company if it was a separate entity is insane. But I’m not replacing my pros with the 3rd gen. Noise cancelation and it has way more features like in the setting.

I always get complains on how poor the quality is when I have to speak though the airpods. You need to be in a quiet room to have an acceptable quality. Definitely no where near the wired earpods or handset move.
honestly the audio quality is much more crisp on the AirPods Pro compared to the AirPods generation 3. on the contrary, the gen 3 AirPods do take the dub as far as comfort wise!
Not sure I would ever prefer earphones without ANC again. The option of having it gives the AirPods Pro more versatility and a whole lot more of use scenarios.

The AirPod 3’s fit so well that even if I’m not playing music, I can already barely hear outside noises. Put a song or a vid on and I can’t hear anything but the audio playing.
I upgraded my Airpods 2 to AirPods 3 and they are really step up, much better sound, better bass, better design, spatial is great.. Even better fit in my ear. Thank you apple!
Tried them on, Unfortunately way too big for my small ear holes.. regular AirPods are my favorite in terms of comfort in the ears..

When you say the regular AirPods are more comfortable, do you mean the AirPod 2’s or the 1st generation?
@@C6whatever AirPods 1st and 2nd gen have the same design. Only the charging features change between the 2 versions. I am indeed talking about the AirPods 1st and 2nd gen. In terms of comfort in the ear only, they are my favorite.
However, in my opinion the best ever AirPods to get are the AirPods Pro. These are the AirPods I own now. And even if they feel less comfortable in my ears (the fact that they enter the hole of my ear felt weird to me at first), they are a miracle in terms of sound quality and features.
I sold my AirPods 2nd gen since I wrote this post and purchase AirPods Pro instead. They are insanely good.
Disagree, I got my AirPods Pro for $159 so the $9 difference in price makes the Pro's a much better buy with all the features, my only disappointment so far is that I am charging the Pro's case more frequently then I did on my Air Pods 2.
I thought so until I got them. They do not fit in my ears and fell out regardless of the tip size I used. Literally a waste of money for me. Ordered the 3’s in hope they fit in my ears.

However, look into those new beats. They have been on sale lately and from reddit forms those seems to be AirPod pros without the price hike.

i wouldn’t change my pro to this. noise cancellation is a game changer. i could go to mall with pure bliss not hearing the noise with my lofi chill playlist. i can work in peace with the noise cancellation on

Airpods 3 for day to day use and get a good pair of around ear headphones for noise cancelling If you really need it. But if u need an all in one solution, pros are your go to.

There are so much better options than with either one. Soundcore, Sony, Master & Dynamic, Jabra, the list goes on.
Same here sold the pros and love the 3's. Better in workouts and easy on the ears.
With the 3s, the mixes on the tracks I create actually make it sound like I know what I’m doing mixing my own tracks😂😂😂.

Not sure it’s a flaw as such. It’s just basic physics if you have silicone ear tips like iPod pro 2 then the sound waves get funnelled directly into ear canal if you get gen 3 without silicone ear tips then sound will go in general direction but be less focused. Impossible for it to be anything else without ear tips. I love my new gen 3 airpods I dont need noise cancellation and as for sound bleed its minimal I have asked people around me if they can tell what I am listening to or if they can hear them and unless they sitting in my lap they cant 😂. Pro 2 has enhanced speaker/hardware but I think its tips that make them better for the audiophiles
I did the opposite, I returned AirPods Gen 3 and Got AirPods Pro with Magsafe for $159, While I was using AirPods Gen 3 They always fell out of my ears and I just realized ANC is needed when I traveling on the plane. Only one downside of the AirPods Pro is less battery life compared to AirPods Gen 3

Mine too. I’ll pick up the pros when they come out, but until then, these are perfect in every situation. They also almost get me through an entire night of sleep - ambient noise and they’re so small I don’t feel them in my ear as much as any other AirPod. And a lot of us know the AirPods Pro do not have a great track record. My sound quality went to sh7t a year ago. They sound great if I don’t move my head.

Why do reviewers complain about earbuds with no seal that don't have Noise cancelling, Airpods 1, 2, and 3, and Galaxy Buds live aren't meant to be use with Noise cancelling, that is why I carry on my shirt pocket the Lives and the Pros (samsung) so when I need NC I grab the pros, and when I need to talk to people I use the Lives.

Looking to buy my very first AirPods and would mainly be using around the house for calls. When watching videos including yours the call quality seems to be better on the AirPod 3’s. I may try the 3’s and see if they fit… do you think they fit smaller ears? If you are already on a call (iPhone) and remove the AirPod 3’s from the case do they automatically connect to the call? What if the AirPods were outside the case on a table? Thanks!
My god the audio quality in this video is amazing!
One of the pair dies one month after use. The left one had held up recently, but the right one is cursed with failure. Both sides have failed at one time or another. Have to keep replacing every few weeks under AppleCare+.

Got a pair of 3rd gen today. Love them. Sound is good. Price is ok. Team up perfectly with iphone (no surprise there) fit perfect in my average girly ears so anyone women out there wondering if they will fit give them a go they seem to be fine and I am very fussy about comfort. I forgot they in and prefer idea I can hear my environment but if you getting the train everyday or in loud urban traffic on your way to work maybe iPod pro 2 better.
I think we are still at least about a year away from the AirPods Pro 2, or otherwise Apple wouldn’t have updated them with the MagSafe case.

AirPods 3 are a rip-off, there are Beats Studio Buds that are half the price and come with noise cancellation... AirPods are simply for people who want to show off white ear buds and look cool wearing them, but they are not a smart buy.... (or de Beats Fit Pro, which costs almost the same as AirPods 3 and are better on everything).

I freaking love the AirPods 3 but, the left one keeps falling out and hurts my ear so much so that I am seriously contemplating returning them for AirPods 2 again. They sound great and that’s why I like them but AirPods 2 for superbly.
I hated the pros. It almost feels like apple made the 3’s just for me. The ear shape is just no contest for me. I know it’s not for everyone.

159 dollars for the original AirPods when adjusted to inflation is 183 dollars so the AirPods 3 aren’t any more expensive. Also wasn’t the precision tracking present in the AirPods Pros as seen in WWDC
I have an iPhone and use air pod pros, but I never understood why so many think they sound soooo great.
I mean they sound good but the noise cancelling still let’s enough come through and they don’t compare sound wise to my Bose.
I normally agree with you on a lot of things but I would say the Mics on AirPods are not good as someone who spends hours on the phone a day. People can tell when I switch from my regular phone to AirPods. The difference is very noticeable.
Have you ever tried video editing with it? How is the delay with the Mac Studio, for example?
I like the bud style more than in-ear. AP3 is excellent sound for bud style.

Kind of spurprised watching this video... After using my 3's for around 2 months, I noticed that the sound quality sucks. I literally hear no bass at all. Not just minimal, I mean like no bass. The highs are way too high, and when I'm listening to music it just doesn't balance with high volumes and the highs just peak and it's such an uncomfortable experience.
