The ram air effect of the snorkles is lost when using CAIs. If you left the stock system on and kept it sealed, then the ram air effect would work. You will pull in more cold air under the hood though, which is good.
🤔 because the filters are open vs boxed? Overall volume increases but forced air effect doesn’t?
@@ChaosCarClub The VTs will bring in air at a higher pressure but that is only utilized in a closed system like the stock airbox or aFE airbox because they are closed and can maintain that higher pressure. When you use an open intake, the air will come through the snorkel at higher pressure and then drop right back to atmosphere on the other side because it's not connected to anything. So, you'll get cooler air but not higher pressure air. It's not a bad thing necessarily, you just lose the effect and gains from the higher pressure.
I do believe this to be true and I'm gonna put my factory boxes back on now that I have the snorkels installed and see..I think it's a combination of the forced air and a drop in IAT's
@@robertalston6180 It's also because removing the inlet from under the bumper drops vaccum from 9 to 4 inches, greatly improving intake flow.
@@SlipAngleG70 so ultimately maximum gains would be the snorkels + closed intake box? Be it stock or another closed setup

Hands down Tokyo drift Z! Might be slower than the stinger but DK would ensure a win with his mob ties. Even OJ would be envious of his drift skills.
