Hello.I have just discovered your channel and I love it.Your way to start a diagnostic and then find the fault is so logic and clean and yet so less seen in the work shops these days...I do exactely the same job the weekends but in the center of France. If you permit me,it's just un advice and not a critic because you are a really good technician, but never ever use a clamp ampermeter in cc,even if it has this function and it's a good brand. At first they were built to mesure ac intesity and they are very accurate but then they added a hall sensor to measure magnetic field so cc intesity and they are creap, instable even after zero calibration .Do it old school with a ampermeter in series, more dangerous for the multimeter but with some attention is safe.Keep going,i learnt a lot from your videos.
Hi Thanks for the advice! I actually have some videos doing it that way, for a quick testing, where accuracy is not paramount, I found this clamp meter a quite nice solution... Yes, if I really need accuracy, I do it the way you say, or I use the scope, etc... Thank you for watching and for your comment, really appreciated! 👍👍👍
Hi boss, i had the same problem but the issue was with the starter motor was bad, when car is hot, it needed 2 batteries to start. Solve with a new starter"70$", still a lot cheaper than a new battery" 150$"
well done again, what I really like about your channel is that it is REAL LIFE REPAIR .. yes we would all love a workshop like DiagnoseDan .. but we don't have and use what we've got at the time, whatever happens you always get it done, and even after doing night shift, good job, that's real world fix-it.
You did that alright . 50A is ok . I see this kind of repairs constantly and have to do them myself also . Cheap cheaper cheapest and when everything is screwed up they bring it to me . I have put 100A fuse between the bridge and never had a problem but wiring fuses I have never done . I use the resettable fuses to diagnose and then fix the problem . Maybe on a later date they allow you to do the same .
Not critcal of you but the previous fixer: diagnosing battery charging is basics! Battery is 12v. To charge a battery the voltage needs to be > 12v. Typically an alternator puts out 14v. If you dont have 14v just after starting then there is a charging problem! A suggestion: you could have gone to a breakers yard and picked up a 2nd had battery for £20 and drop it in. I normally do this and insist on a minimum 1 month guarentee with a receipt (if it a dud they just give you another so no big drama for them).

Excellent video thanks. Diesels need strong batteries for starting due to those glow plugs. I was worried about you getting water in the fuel filter since the tank was completely drained empty but luckily nothing happened. Surprised that the owner buys an expensive car like this but wants to spend as less as possible. Wait until he has problems with those injectors and diesel fuel pump then he'll know what costly means. Thanks again.
I just love costumers when they tell you to work on "hummer and chisel" instead of spanners because is cheaper ;) Anyway, another great video showing that even simple things such a flat battery, could not be easy to diagnose and fix in 5 minutes as costumers think
Very nice repair, once again. Some people really miss the point o a fuse, right? But the scary part is to see that coming from people that are supposedly being paid to repair cars. Cheers mate. Keep up the good work!
