This video released at the most perfect time for me. I installed a void-linux virtual machine and was learning how to package my own programs which are currently not in the repositories, so I can switch in my high school semester holidays and this video really helped further solidify my knowledge. I don't normally comment, but I just wanted to tell you how grateful we are for your videos.
Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it. I'm glad this was able to help. Thank you for watching.
I don't do all of these things but I just watch this guy cause he kinda cool
Not a paid comment by raid btw
Yeah Thank you :)
This is something I need to take a closer look at.
I switched from Arch a few days ago to Void and finally got everything working.
Jake made me a Void user! Not related to video, really.. Just wanna say thanks!
Great video Jake . I tried not so long ago to create a template for min browser . this will help a lot ❤
Thanks, I hope it does help
Bumping for algo boost. Love your videos.
Thank you
Hey thanks for the video, super helpful! I'm new to Linux in general, but I was wondering why you chose to go with the rpm release, as opposed to a zip or any of the other options. Follow up question, how would you approach setting the hostmakedepends and such for doing a zip instead?
Sorry Jake, there's another typo in the "changelog" line of the package file. Thanks for your videos :)
Thanks for the heads up, I appreciate it.
Great video! Are you using any audio filtering plugin on obs? You can remove the white noise with it.
Thanks, I am not using any filters at the moment, I am working on improving my audio, I know it is a big issue with my content.
Do you know if I can convert a Systemd service to a Runit one? I've already did it with Open RC but is different, I want to try if I can install Maya Natively without Distrobox, using RPM Extract but the activation service use Systemd
Yes you can, I have not done it yet but I know you can. I will do some research and see if I can't get you some better information.
@@JakeLinux thank you so much, I did install Maya with Open RC but I can't with Runit and is the last thing that I need.
so basically I can create a template for Vesktop? I can use the RPM version.
And I create a template for Vesktop, now I'm going to create one for UnityHub.
Ok, I can't create it, tomorrow, I'm going to try again.
Hi Jake, i am using windows and want to also have something as good as void. Is it possible to have a dual boot of void and windows.
It is, I dual boot void and windows currently, although I never use windows anymore, just have it around for school purposes until my degree is finished.
@@JakeLinux thank you 😊 do you have a video on dual booting
it's impressive to experience a very fluid desktop/window/mouse refresh in an operating system that i can only experience under OSX, but now on my PC that's especially evident on higher refresh rate. showing here, playing a 1440p youtube video with minimal cpu utilization and minimal drop frames
