The UK Gents company manufactured a master clock system names "Chronopher" which has much in common to this. One minute reverse polarity impulses to the slaves.

Brilliant, they certainly don’t make them like that anymore. We have a master clock system at work but it’s just black rack mount box with a led display, boo.
