Why not show and demonstrate the DI output of the Powercab and its mic models?? This is a KEY feature for a gigging musician. Need to hear what the FOH tone sounds like...

How did you do the double tracking? With the Helix or with a external pedal....

So many mixed reviews on this product. RUclipsrs that receive the cab, seem to give it a thumbs up, while purchasers seem to give mixed opinions.

Just got the powercab 112 and I am not sold on it yet. I will say it sounds nothing like a guitar cabinet.

How are you running it and what with?

@@TheToneshack I am running it with a Headrush pedalboard. I use headrush Cabs/IRs with the powercab FRFR speaker mode and Amp settings with the powercab speaker models. The powercab is a fundamentally different sound and experience than playing with an amp. To me the powercab sounds like a PA speaker without any of the playing dynamics of an amp and is uninspiring to play. The technology just does not seem to be there yet.

Kompton Terry ok great. Do you play live? Something to bear in mind with speaker mode is it’s working like a speaker (funny that) and as such wants to be driven harder. Basically the louder the better. Something else to maybe look at is the output level and what the pc is set to receive and match it if you haven’t already.

@@TheToneshack I have the signal boosted enough so that the input on the back of the PC is flashing green/yellow (this is recommended by Line 6). I have also turned it up pretty damn loud and it sounds exactly like a loud stage monitor. Doesnt seem to have the punch of your standard Tube Amp. Kind of disappointing because I do not want to return it.

@@Blazen1212 DM me and I'll try and figure it out for you. To my ears it's a significant difference and if you're not getting that there will be something simple.

Please do a tutorial on the ax2 212 and show how to get the best thrash tones .I've got this amp 10 years ago at a yard sale and I still have trouble with the damn thing .
    Cheers !

If you guys would make one of these with two power rather than solid-state I’d be all over that like a nerd rich guy in strip club for the first time!

Are you really going to pass off that “feedback” as feedback?

10 minutes of talking, most of which was repetition, then the first ‘reveal’ playing his ‘go-to’ tone was disappointing in the extreme. Not for me. I’m still struggling to make any modelling solution sound anything but sterile, crispy and and fizzy.

These things are all very subjective...I’ve been using a Helix for a couple of years now and getting the best tones I’ve ever had....every time. I played a gig at the weekend straight into the PA and it sounded exactly how I wanted it and i was off stage in about 2 minutes...My back won’t take a heavy tube amp! If you love amps that’s fine...I’m not yet convinced I need one of these yet though....

Andrew Butcher I have a Helix and the 212 Plus will be here next week. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. The fact that you can mix and match speakers in the cab is what sold me. I was going to get the Mission Gemini 2 but my man at Sweetwater recommended this as it’s their latest and greatest. We shall see.

yeah, i love helix, but that high pitched microphonic sounding feedback in his first tone example is the thing that isn't the same as with a guitar cab to me... I love musical bloom and feedback with a loud guitar cab, but it doesn't sound like that's the right resonant frequency.
