Dead for nearly 30 years but in this video Michael has such a vibe that makes him immortal
INXS was one of the best bands of the 80s! They made so much good music. You should check out Need You Tonight! I am probably not the only one who had a HUGE crush on the lead vocallist, Michael Hutchence. I was genuinely saddened when he took his life. You just never know what burdens people are carrying.

mystify, what you need, suicide blond, the stiars, by my side, beautiful girl, the gift, god you can't go wrong, but you have to watch them live, have to.
It can't be overstated to say these guys were in the top 3 biggest bands in the world in the late 80s and into the 90s. The biggest. They had hit after hit after hit, album after album, had amazing videos on MTV 24/7, getting shoutouts in movies & they are an exceptional live band...they sound exactly like this live! Their 1991 Wembley Stadium show was made into a full concert DVD called 'Live Baby Live'. Every song from that performance is worth a watch. Start with ' What You Need'. They perform the h#ll out of that song on stage.

There are a lot of great songs by INXS. You can't go wrong here. A few recommendations: What You Need. Devil Inside. Don't Change. Disappear. Original Sin. The One Thing. Suicide Blonde. Need You Tonight/Mediate.

Just take your pick, but I have to truly recommend that you check them out live from Wembly Stadium in 1991. Try "What You Need" from that show for starters. INXS was my first rock concert and I saw them perform this song on their Kick tour! They were soooo good live I would go back to 1989 in a heartbeat.

I bought this CD when it first came out and have listened to it countless times - but never picked up on the meaning behind these lyrics. I admire how you understood it so quickly.
The secret to INXS music is that it’s got so many catchy riffs and choruses. Their songs are easy to pick up on and you can sing along the very first time you hear it.

They were a hits machine in this period. This is one of their best compositions imo, it brings it all together so well. Total mastery of song composition, everything just works so it feels flawless and effortless.
Loved them in the 80's was so sad when Michael died.... Michael was so charismatic. I really loved them I still have their actual tape... hilarious...

Kick was one of the best albums of the 80s. I was delighted to gift my 18 y.o. "vintage 80s/90s" lovin neice with a Kick cd last month and love the thought of her rollong around in her old car singing this album.

That was a great observation...that it seems like he is yelling but he isn't. His voice is full and rich and the way he sings is direct and almost speaking in a way.

INXS is one of my top 19 all-time favorite Rock band and my top 5 all-time Blue-eyed Soul Bands. The front man and the entire band dressed really well with their clothing!!! Very tasteful!!! they are very talented!!! They came from nothing and became international Super Stars and did their own style in doing it...not like bands today that are copying one another!!!! the Front man had moved like Mick Jaggers and Jim Morrison.....it was a tragedy when he committed suicide!

I've been an INXS fan for about 30 years now. The one song I love that no one reacts to is "Kiss the Dirt"{Fallin' Down the Mountain}. The guitar riff at the end is heavenly.

Oh YES this band funks together!! Their Live Wembley music is addictive. Watch Michael prowl the stage and the interactions with the guys on stage and hooboy his interaction with the crowd and HOW hyped they were . They were their own genre. Great group of fantastics guys doing their thing.

I've always said, if I could be in one band, it would be INXS. Always so so good. Check out their song, Elegantly Wasted, their funkiest song. This song is NOT about a one night stand. One night stands seem to be the general way with your generation from the bits I am ascertaining but they weren't with ours. They happened but most of the time the guy was vilified for it. Even when he was being a jerk by cheating, it was by having a 2nd relationship. In this song he is even talking about letting out her thoughts & feelings because he will be there for her to lean on - "I will be your shoulder, you can tell me all..."
INXS (hailing from Australia) is probably THE BEST group that came out of the 80s. We had some other good ones but I think these guys were the very top.

While some people may suggest their live performances (which do show huge crowds & Michael's charisma live), their Official music videos are truly excellent & of course the singing & sound is better as well. These would be my choice (or else view a Wembley video after you have seen these produced videos.)

Maybe morbid, but one of Michael's Hutchence's ex-girlfriends was Kylie Minogue (RIP Michael). Not sure if you've done any of her early 2000s stuff, like "Chocolate," "Can't Get You Out Of My Head," or "Slow."
