      In Utero defined my guitar tone for my whole life. I have always wanted to find a 1982 Fender Twin Reverb and rebuild it like Kurt’s. I already have his pedals like the SanAmp Classic which is that records drive tone. The PolyChorus is key too. The 1982 Twin is rare. I have never seen one on Reverb or EBay. Seen and 80 and 81 but never an 82. 1982 was the last year of Ultraliner production. I have been working on dialing in my Kemper to do all the In Utero effects. PolyChorus is the challenge.

    My favorite Foo Fighters tone (and album in general) is There is Nothing Left to Lose from 1999. The Gibson Explorer tone through the Vox AC30 inspired my own rig, that's primarily what I play in my own band. This is a really cool video, love all of the Foos records.

    • @kurdtjohn
      @kurdtjohn 5 лет назад +2

      @@Jamesfoofighter loads and loads of compression were used on everything especially on guitars. Those two songs that weren't mixed by Tom Lord-Alge (The Party Song, and Wendy Clear) do not possess the same kind of compression. It'd be interesting if there was an album's worth of Jerry Finn mixes on that record.

    Really loving this series! The only thing I think is missing from the guitar sound of the original album is the guitars on the album seemed to be bussed and the bus track is out of phase probably due to a delay or something along the lines of that.
