- Ali Elbanna was fatally shot during an attempted armed robbery outside the Northeast Dallas store in November 2021. Ali’s loved ones were at the Frank Crowley Courts Building Monday morning as 18-year-old Camron Range pleaded guilty to murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. On Friday, 20-year-old James Levels also pleaded guilty to murder and aggravated assault. He was given a 40-year sentence.

What is with Families requests of No-Plea deal being denied and met with cushioney Plea deal.. MY personal opinion is it should be Life without Parole or Death Penalty. We have horrible prosecutors and DA's around here along with most of these judges...

Maybe it’s just my own warped sense of logic but two 30-year sentences running concurrently is a 30-year sentence, not a 60-year sentence. The euphemistic “60 years combined” coming from the judge is despicable and patronizing to the family. If it was up to me, I would ban the concept of “concurrent” from sentences. I know that in this country, we have different cultural issues and points of views that are different from one another I guess that's what makes us unique... but one thing I cannot understand or comprehend is how sometimes it's usually the same people that does stuff like this for absolutely no reason. What was the whole motive? Was it stealing? What was he going to steal what was going to be worth his life to be thrown behind bars???

Not from USA but was wondering why the murderer did not get the death penalty? My only wonder is it true USA jails are big business and the judge is making money of such inmate?
The judge doesn't make money off that. Usually the punishment is agreed upon with the prosecutor in exchange for pleading guilty, and the judge simply accepts or refuses the plea deal. We're also not there, so we don't know everything that happened in the court room or between attorneys and clients. They all agreed 60 years was enough. A family will always want more as they're emotionally invested. If the perps ever do get out, they're going to have to reintegrate into society in their late 70s possibly with no family and not so many years left to live. They were willing to plead guilty, and most court cases are actually settled in a plea in this manner. Most people don't want to go through a lengthy trial for such horrible cases. It's only on TV dramas that everyone's super gung-ho to get into the courtroom.
You are close. Yes, US jails are big business, but in actuality the judge AND the jails would lose money if they gave such inmate(s) the death penalty FOR such crimes like in this case.
I'm not sure how the law works in whatever country you're from but here in the US giving defendants below the age of 18 the death penalty is unlawful and unconstitutional. Even adults who are convicted of murder aren't given death sentences a lot of the time in part because a lot of states in our country ban death penalties. Death penalty sentences in our state is rare.
Democrat and RINO judges are pro criminal, pro crime. It appears to be part of a larger globalist humiliation ritual along with plain old genocide of decent people, moving targets for all of these super predators. There are creepy programs like LSAC PLUS that allow criminals, illiterates, etc. to become instant lawyers, judges, etc., causing even more chaos, and of course no one is supposed to even mention this.

I'm not sure if you live in a bubble, but in the manner that most people use it, weed is pretty close to harmless. I have no interest in having anything to do with it myself, but how can you so strongly demonize this unless you just really have no idea? We don't really understand the context of what he was saying, but the feeling behind it was that this man went to great lengths to take care of those around him, even if sometimes it involved helping them out in less desirable ways. I've seen people demonized many times becuase others didn't like something they did (even if it didn't affect them)--treated them like scum and tore them down with no mercy.
