Man oh man,I remember the 70's when choppers were as thick as fleas .A Roberts Ranger with a single hook made for some fast and furious action, bass were few and far between, miss those days!

    Nice Gator!
They should be in very soon. Herring run is slow in the Coonamessett river this year. The mild winter is a positive for 2019. But the cold spring and the heavy rains seem to be slowing down the baitfish.
    Tight lines bro

@@MyFishingCapeCod Ty! I ran into 2 volunteers for the herring run count last night, by the Coonamesset River. They told me the herring have pretty much completed their spawning cycle. And the ratio of herring exiting to sea (downstream vs upstream) is now approx. 100:1.
Looks like June might be the best time to head over to the south facing beaches at night for stripers.
      Tight lines!

Bluefish practically disappeared last season (2018) in Long Island, NY. Was it the same for Cape Cod?

terryble they were here in the spring. I have a video up of hundreds, maybe thousands of gator bluefish cruising the flats in spring ‘18. From what I heard, only a handful of large blues were caught after that initial spring run, from NJ to MA. I didn’t hear of or see a single one over 5 pounds in the fall. Disheartening. They’ll be back some day.

Blues were almost non existent around CT waters too this past season except for a few snappers that was it.

I didn't catch many bluefish last year, until late September when big bluefish showed up in Cape Cod Bay 👉myfishingcapecod.com/bruiser-bluefish-finally-show-up/
