GIA mentioned that it is very difficult to find in Russia but never mentioned depleted. Easiest way to get one is to look for a russian gemstone trader. I just bought one a couple of months ago. They have a lot in their store and many more that’s brought around the world by the owner to sell at expos.
I met one lady in Tucson, AZ at the gem expo, she specialize on them. That was the first and so far last time in my life when I saw so many alexandrites
@@ninavova there are a lot of alexandrites in BKK. There are good and bad ones. I saw lots of good ones however they are still fewer than diamonds and what you see is what you get. You can’t order different shapes unlike diamonds.
Very clear speaking. A lots of preparations. Thanks.
I have a lab created Alexandrite but after watching this video I am feeling skeptical about if it's lab Alexandrite or glass! Lol
Great video
Would it be fair to call the corundum alexandrite imitation a "color-change sapphire "?
Could you make a video actually showing the difference between synthetic Alexandrite and fake/non-alexandrite alternatives?
Actually a good idea. I'll do that in the future. Just going to buy bunch of fake ones and make a video so everyone can see the difference.
Does the colour changing sapphire occur naturally or comes as a lab creation ?
Both. We usually use natural, since we specialize in engagement rings

What I want to know is that actually by what material inclusion we can identify the natural between lab created one?
Your best bet if to find out looking at the price. Natural starts from $20k per carat
an interesting piece of material
Thank you :)
