I found that to be a balanced perspective. I see some activists screaming out about racing, but I agree, there is a bad side to every industry. I don't think racing is inherently cruel, but do think some practices need to change, as I do with the whole horse industry as well. I've worked in several disciplines and one thing I found specifically worse with racing was the nervous energy the horses had. There was very rough handling in general at different barns, and its so unnecessary and stressful for the horses. I think happy, healthy horses perform better.

In my opinion it’s a better show of skill (and less cruel) if you don’t torture the horse to go fast
If by 'torturing' you mean using a whip - then in the video I do agree with this. I think eventually whip use will be phased out.
@CazedarnesEquestrian I race, and unfortunately, some horses go better with a slap of the persuader.
