So glad to hear the original words, especiallyJehovah rather than the modern trend of Redeemer, which is totally incorrect. The hymn is a paraphrase on the OldTestament story of the Israelites flight out of Egypt, therefore the use of the word Redeemer is incorrect because Christ the Redeemer was of the NewTestament. In any case , the great hymns of the English writers are perfectas they are and no modern updates to their words are needed.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Ephesians 1:7
Amen. Always my prayer 🙏
