    A couple of quick addendums:
    1) I want to elaborate on Invis balancing a bit. Basically, Invis is very potent when it works, but it has a number of counters. The general pattern is that if the enemy only has non-offensive chips in their first column, you can go ham, but if they have anything that attacks all or attacks random, your Invis is unlikely to survive. If they have something that attacks directly, you’ll still take damage before casting it. If they have any sort of guard chip that counterattacks, Invis is still vulnerable to counterattacks, so you’ll still take plenty of damage throughout your turn. By the end and postgame (and even many Navis in midgame), I find that opponents which leave themselves open to Invis aren’t that common, but when Invis is actually viable, then yes it’s a dominant strategy. So it IS kind of OP, but only conditionally, and it’s very easy to counter. If this game had a competitive meta, I don’t think it would be a real problem.
    2) Also to clarify, I’m very much not an expert on meta in this, or anything, so if there are any experts in the audience, please excuse my conjecture. I’m sure that some form of dominant strategy exists in BCC, which could hypothetically allow you to just stubbornly stick to one Program Deck loadout, but as a normie who didn’t do outside research and simply tooled around with the game extensively across a few playthroughs, the views expressed in this video should be accurate and authentic to the average single-player experience. I’ve also never 100 percented this game, and as such there are some chips I’ve never obtained, but please keep in mind that if your comment is something to the effect of “Life Aura breaks the game” (I have no idea if it does or doesn’t, this is just a hypothetical example), I hardly think that an extremely rare late/postgame chip simply existing is actually going to ruin the average player’s experience. I’m also fairly positive that the most broken decks aren’t even possible until late/postgame given the chips they require access to anyway.

    There is a Mod for this game called "Chip Control Mod" by Prof. 9
    "This mod changes the battle system to add a Custom Screen-like interface during battle, similar to the mainline Mega Man Battle Network games. You can view your chip info and freely choose which chips to use the next turn, resulting in more deliberate gameplay with moment-to-moment decision-making."
    This mod was released in 2023.

    Congratulatins for such an amazing and complete video, my friend!
    Your review is flawless!
    MMBCC is an awesome game!
    I agree 100% that it is misunderstood and wronged.
    It is SO UNIQUE, fun, customizable and addicting!
    The only two "bad things" about it are: poor sprites animations and the random batle chip path system.
    The animations could've be smoother and more accurate. Some moves just do not fit to what the navi is currently doing.
    And the random path system can be a little bit frustrating sometimes.
    But, even so, these two things do not affect the game coolness and fun at all.
    This game became even better after the release of the Chip Control Mod.
    It gets rid of the lucky system and allow us to selec the battel chip paths on battle.
    MMBCC is a game that is ALWAYS with me!
    It is so fun and relaxing!!!
    My favorite navis are MegaMan WoodShield Style and PlantMan.
    And my favorite battle chips are GaiaSword, GrassStage, Spice3, HeatBall and LeafShield.
    I wonder if we can ever get a new MMBCC game with upgraded graphics and improved features.
    Such as:
    HD Battle Chips artworks (just like in MMBNLC);
    Navi Customizer;
    Syles, Souls, Crosses and Beast Outs;
    Navis battle chips for a team-up attack (at least once per battle);
    Boss Battles (Life-Virus, Gospel, Duo, etc);
    Voice-over (English and Japanese options);
    ALL Net Navis from all games and anime (such as Pharaohman, Laserman, Shademan, Zero, Prismman, Slur, Serenade, Wheel Navi, Skull Navis, Female Navis, etc) and some new ones;
    Extended batle chip library (with chips from MMBN1 to MMBN6;
    And the Chip Control Addition.
    And...
    Yes, please!!!
    It would be beyond awesome if you make a MMBN 4.5 video!!!

    Ring was probably my undisputed favorite Navi for the longest time (its HeatMan now 😼) and the fact that this is the only game where she shows up in any meaningful capacity is the only reason I even touched the game and as an idle/simple RPG fan this game really was a blast to play. Until they started hitting me with 100 battles to fight Bass GS (how they expected people to get this far without savestates is beyond me 😭)
    I love how every NPC Navi has a signature chip and more often than not has a deck built around that chip to make them all have unique ways of fighting
    Also really had fun with some of the Navis. Every Elec-Element Navi battle I had was usually really fun because by default they have an electric-boosting floor on top of the STAB boost they already get from using electric chips, but with me usually having ElecBall in my folder, I can just absorb all of the damage and send it back tenfold, PLUS the ElecBall itself gets boosted from the electric floor. PLUS sometimes I ran ElecMan to get an extra damage boost. Some of the Navis had ElecBalls too though so it would basically come down to who held onto theirs the longest to absorb the other's and I've seen damage get up to the thousands it's so ridiculous 😭😭😭
    Really all this game needed was actual animations for the Navis💀They just reuse whatever sprites the Navis had in their boss battles and FreezeMan and SharkMan especially are atrociously animated in this game as a result
    TL;DR why haven't we seen Ring or TurboMan appear literally anywhere else but the Network Transmission characters and even the MOBILE GAME NAVIS got to show up in the anime. WHY???

    Thank you for making this video! 😊
    It was a fairly big factor in me somewhat recently getting a hold of a copy of this game and I have absolutely loved playing through it. Definitely a niche title, but genuinely fun for the right audience and an incredibly interesting piece of design.
    There are quite a few things that could be polished in the game, like explaining how certain mechanics actually work (I am still not sure what the chances are for dodging moves depending on accuracy/avoidance etc, people seem to have different theories). The early game was also quite rough as you simply lack the knowledge to properly play it, but even more so the chips even if you did you know (not much strategy to be had when you don't have enough chips for a full folder). A few hours in however the game really takes off and gets much more fun, especially the post game. 🎉
    Before the post game I was mixing and matching my deck for each fight (similarly to how it seems you played), but all changed as the credits rolled (as then I figured I had enough chips to make some pretty cool stuff). So during the post game I changed my play style a fair bit and my folder was essentially 3 exact decks built around 3 different themes and navis, covering each other's weaknesses. (I could mix and match between the 3 in a pinch, but that was almost never required). It seems like we handled that part differently, meaning that the game works both for players who love to brew decks and people who improvise for each fight (a nice plus in my book).
    One thing that's a bit of a shame is that some chips and navis are locked behind beating the 64 and 128 tournaments (the only things left for me to do). Getting a hold of 100+ codes from different players is not all that easy if not practically impossible (unless someone knows of a list online somewhere) and generating them yourself (using the second save file) would take a ridiculous number of hours, go a bit against the spirit of the game and just not be fun. Not a big deal overall and that tournament mode is interesting, as not being able to change your deck between fights really tests the versatility of your creations. (Still a bit shame to have content locked behind it though).
    Anyhow, thank you again for the video! 😊
    Edit; found a generator for tournament/navi code online, assuming it works (which seems to be the case) it would be a faster way of making codes yourself and if you want it seems like you can put in chips so they are proper opponents (so it could also be used for brewing/creating your most fantastical decks and fight against them). Found it on therockmanexezone.

      Hey, thanks for commenting! If even one more person gave the game a chance and enjoyed their time with it s much as I did, then that's a win in my book :) And yeah, I was actually going to send you that Navi code generator but it seems you foudn it first haha. It still takes an enormous amount of patience to input 128 codes, and it's definitely a shame that some content is locked behind that insanely tedious code wall (in particular, I'd really like to make a full Style Change themed deck someday if I ever have the patience to acquire those Navi chips), but all in all, BCC is just a crazy cool title that I massively enjoyed, and that has nothing else quite like it out there.
      Capcom, BCC Mobile when?

    • @ThrillingDuck
      @ThrillingDuck  3 месяца назад +1

      @@Sentina7 Did you actually watch the video? What did the opponent put in column 1? Did they buff? Then you have time to shield. Did they attack with a “damage all” chip? Then don’t bother with shields - go on the offensive with high HP chips.
      Now what will you attack with? Are they an elemental Navi? Are they not? You may have chips that deal bonus damage against them, but have lower accuracy. How is their evasion? Can you afford this? (Keep in mind that accuracy and evasion are extremely common turn based RPG stats.)
      Do they like equipping shields? If so, you’ll need shield breakers. Do you spend a slot on healing chips? Will those chips even survive? Are they using stun chips? If so, you won’t be able to rely on your buster skill, so you have to plan accordingly.
      It’s only a luck simulator as far as any deck builder is. If you build your folder correctly, then it’s a strategy game.
