Having built a very basic one l think that gives me an insight into the many hours and multiple skills needed to build this instrument to such a high standard. Congratulations!
I like the exposed interior. I volunteer at a museum that has a large electrically-powered orchestrian. It is self-rewinding and restarts automatically, using paper reels like this (we have about 100 reels). It works great and is quite loud. It's a pleasure to show off.
At the museum where I volunteer, we have an orchestrian (a large automatic organ like this). We use it to call visitors to come see a particular presentation that we run once a day. Sometimes I've had to stop the orchestrian in the middle of its tune to start the presentation, and the music just sort of slows down and peters out sadly. It always gets a chuckle from guests. X)
Hurrah! What a pleasant sound! The melody played by barrel organ is pleasant and enjoyable! Some antique mechanical clocks played melodies for each hour on built in barrel organ just before or soon after striking the hours on bell or gong. Nowadays these types of barrel organ and pipe-organ clocks are electronically imitated by some quartz clocks because they contains electronically recorded and programmed circuit board of sound chips connected to speaker. But they can't beat the real barrel organ and pipe-organ clocks.
Have you ever seen the Engle monumental clock? There are vids on RUclips. It was built (finished) in 1877 and has barrel organs that produce its music.
@@daffers2345 Real barrel organs are always real one. mechanical musical clocks with real barrel organ are always superiormost in sound than electronic imitation of the same in quartz clocks which are cheap in price and manufactured for poor people who wants to enjoy the barrel organ music at every hour. Rich people can buy musical clocks with real barrel organ if they want to enjoy the barrel organ music. Why shall the rich misers buy the quartz musical clocks? They can buy mechanical clocks with real barrel organs and avoid the quartz counterparts if they are rich enough to buy these types of real barrel organs and pipe-organ clocks.
After watching this video, I really want to make one myself! I am already a fan of music boxes, street organs and other similar instruments. It would be amazing if azayaruznu did a tutorial on how to make one!
It beautiful, but the bellows need to have solid ribs made of some kind of carboard or carton inside, it does not keep a steady wind pressure and is very hearable.

I enjoyed the sound it made when you were "rewinding" it. Wasn't expecting that.
This instantly reminded me of the Merry-go-rounds in the various Rolloer Coaster Tycoon games.
Look up band organs

@@resistancerat LMAO, was about to post something similar!
IKr but when it stopped it was kinda creepy
I always heard this song in a merry go around or carnival games

I want one! These organs are brilliant…better than todays electronics music or whatever! Thanks for post!! 👏❤️👍
Nothing quite as sad as the sound of an organ when you stop giving it air! Beeewwwwwwww. x.x

This video is great. It really shows all the inner workings on how this device works.
Super beau orgue et très belle music😊❤
My respects for this amazing oroject.
I love it! Also: It's pretty funny at the end where you're tying to do he whole "cool walk away" but the scroll keeps rolling off!
It would have been funnier if it fell off the table with a large crack sound, then you hear the man cussing "The f**king scroll broke"
But, he's on a roll!
Wow. That is beyond. Awesome. I would like to build one !
No. Just buy it from his website.

@@noelaruldas1152 The Engle was built by 1 man as a showpiece about 150 years ago. He made the barrel organs himself too. :)

Love! I rebuilt my GEM ROLLER ORGAN. I would love to have a Pipe organ. Do you sell them?
Thanks. I was wondering how those worked.
They have a roll of paper going through them. It detects the holes in it using air pressure.
bravo
That's "The Yankee Doodle Boy," not "Yankee Doodle."
Actually it is "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy" by George M. Cohan
The official title is "The Yankee Doodle Boy." "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy" is only the first line,

Is that antique or a modern reproduction type thing? Those are like the first computers.
1:39 - Great!. Next time, I suggest placing the spool upright so it doesn't roll.
Did you build this on your own? I would like to build one of these with my son who is very musically and mechanically inclined. Do you have any plans?
You should make your own plans! I think it would be really fun to plan the whole thing out with your son.
Did you build that thing?
Excellent!
What diameters did you used for your pipes?

It's Yankee Doodle *Joy*...Yankee Doodle is different than the other.
Is this a hurdy gurdy?
