I can't believe how simple this is. Thought I would have to mess around with configurations and installing drivers or something insane. This makes me much more hopeful of fixing my RAM deficiency.
Same I thought the bios had to retrain the memory
Okay but HOW DO I USE CPU-Z?!
@@binguette just check task manager for slots used
@@binguetteyou just download bro
@@binguette install it. It's a freeware that you find easily doing a google search. Make sure to install the correct version for your PC (i.g.: my PC is a 64 bits operational system)
Upgraded my DDR5 RAM, thanks for the video. Didn't use Sabrent unfortunately as it's too expensive, Sorry.

Good on you! Ram is ram and speed is speed you can get the same type for 1/10 price
I'm Currently Going Tobe Getting My *Acer Aspire 1 [A115-32-C4QM] Laptop, Any Idea Of How Much Better Memory Will Get? 4GB, 8GB Or 16GB Or 32GB?

Thank you for tellling me to put the ram at a 45 Degree angle. No other toturials i found told me to do so. Almost broke my ram trying to Press it Down into the ram slot at the wrong angle.
Thanks for the help I'm gonna be upgrading from 8 to 32 gb of ram. My laptops apps keep crashing because it doesn't have enough ram.
"use you tool to pry off the laptop bottom"
Me: BUTTER KNIFE IS IT!!!
😂
Very helpful because my mom gave me her work laptop so i upgraded it because it only has 3.9GB of ram is always 95% used Btw im using windows 11
Has perfomance improved
@@chrisking8579is you have 4 gb of ram, it’s 100% gonna help performance. I’m honestly surprised that a laptop with 4 gb of ram even runs windows 11
Did it improve your laptop?
4Gb ram is barely enough
Tank you so much. One thing to point out, when you screw or unscrew things, please use the diagonal technique
I thought installing more ram was more complex
Wow this was incredibly helpful and easy im surprised at how simple it was great video!
Thank you so much for showing . This it so helpful and shows it is possible. Keep on going making video’s like this because that’s what we want to watch. Gave a nice thumb up for this.
Thank you! Will do!
Very helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
As someone who is barely learning this stuff- This is incredibly helpful. Thank you for the thorough tutorial. You're awesome♡
Edit: Just scrolled through your videos. They seem super helpful. Subscribed and liked! Lol
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!! Worked great
You're welcome!
Hey noob question sorry, is it alright to have different brands? I have existing 8gb of ram and I'm planning to add another to the other slot so it'd be 16gb. And as far as I know, it has to be similar models(??) which is DDR4 3200
Like this so everyone may see it, even though its an amazing tutorial he( or she were living in 2023 i guess) forgot to mention that some motherboard have a cap at how much ram they can use so be sure to check that out, you dont need to upgrade to 64 gb if your laptop can only be upgraded up to 32 gb and dont upgrade to 32gb or 16 if your laptop is capped beneath that
Thank you!
You're welcome!
thank you I needed this video
Thank you very much. I learned a lot.
Glad it was helpful!
Hello! Should i remove battery if i am planning to upgrade my RAM? My battery is inside of the laptop, so you can't easily remove it from outside and if i need to remove it, i will have to remove it from inside. Please, help! 🙏
Remove it if you can.
Have you tried it with battery on?
@herox12five Hello! I upgrade my Ram by turning it off, not totally removing. So i just removed the connection of the battery to the motherboard. Then, I added one more ram, after that, I turned the battery on again by connecting to the motherboard. Nowadays, it works great!
Is disconnecting battery connection necessary or we can just upgrade it without disconnecting battery??? Will it damage laptop anyhow while upgrading Ram with battery connector not disconnected?
No need of disconnecting
Thanks....
hello, please what type of tool did you just use and open the laptop?
If you mean the plastic thing, actually a credit card or something similar will do the job.
Cheerful video. BASIC installation, no mention of what speed or what size RAM is needed or the specific MODEL laptop. Hmmm.
Not all your viewers have THAT model. Did you ever SAY what make and model (and year) it was?
They were showing you how to actually replace your RAM, not advise you on what ram is best use and for what. Besides it will be the exact same in all laptops. Aside from the positioning of the RAM, and amount of customisation, as stated in the video. For example my laptop has two upgradable ram slots! Just open up the back of your laptop and find it, it’s a good learning experience
Bro i love u save my ram right now
awesome vid man. Just recomending unplug your battery before you start doing anythink. otherwise it could short
Thank you for your advice. I'm beginner and really confused by videos that some of them unplugged and didn't unplug the battery socket when installing new ram or ssd.
FROM 4GB TOO 36GB 😂😅❤ NICE
maybe disconnect the battery first?
i downloaded cpu-z and i think it gave me malware of some sort because everytime i search something in a google chrome tab it redirects to yahoo
Can i put 16gb ram on my thunderobot 8gb ram laptop?
Or can i put any 16gb ram to my laptop? Maybe it has specific ram, so i wish you could help:)
New ram has to match installed ram. Exactly
@@MrDark21knight like same Brand?
may i ask, why does my laptop's screen occasionally got freeze and the lines of green pixels appear? this happen after i upgrade my laptop RAM at repair shop
Maybe it wasn’t installed properly.
Are you upgrading from 1 ram to 2 ram modules? It will happen when the two rams isn't from a same brand
@Galllam01 ouuh i see, the orignal one was coming with the laptop itself... the second one is gaming ram...8gb+8gb
@@khairulfahmi6067 Yes I've had issues also with that, so I recommend to use the exact same modules.
What do I do if my computer hasn’t detected the ram? It still says 8gb when I just upgraded it
hey, if my laptop already has 8gb ram and i wanna upgrade it to 16gb, do i just need to buy one 8gb and add it or buy a 2x 8gb and replace the one thats already on it?
You don’t need to replace it
Also I’m pretty sure if you have 2x 8gb ram, it performs a little better then one 16gb ram.
i thought u need like a specific drive or smthing so check then get a drive put it on thats it?
Thank you.
why does it doesn't show my new ram? it stayed in 4gb while I installed another 4 gb of ram so it should be 8gb, but it's still 4 gb.. please help.
If you knew the reason please tell me as I'm having the same problem and i don't know what's wrong
@@mariamgalal5992 I assume my laptop is very old and the ram I bought with same DDR3 is new and some complicated things like outdated drivers I supposed. that's why probably it doesn't work
do we need to disconnect the battery before ram installation?
yes
Yes, to avoid short discharge electric from battery that could damage the components.
Me and the boys with soldered ram and no slots😢😢😢
that was easy
Is upgrading ram don't need to unplug the battery??
Never have I ever felt the need to use an electric screwdriver with these. That scares the crap out of me.
I found that i need a ddr4 3200 ram for my laptop. But i want to know if my laptop has a maximum ram size or not
do i need to disconnect the battery first? cause i heard static discharge can damage your ram.
static discharge comes from you
Its good practice to always disconnect power/battery from any electronic device you will be working on.
Do you have to setup your laptop before you upgrade ur ram?
If I were to upgrade my laptop’s ram by adding one more ram, do I need to buy the same brand? Or at least do they have to have the same speed?
Same speed same size is fine but usually recommend buying the same model
hey js a question. If you want to upgrade ram does it have to be a specific stick or?
Yes it does. For example, it could be a DDR4 stick, or a DDR5 stick. You can check what stick it is by looking at you laptops RAM
@@nicholasfahey3497 oh ok ty
I have a Toshiba L650 with 4gb of ram 2+2, both removable. I got two 8gb ram ddr3 boards, but when i install them the computer tries to start windows but ends up in a blue screen with an error message and keeps restarting... Any ideas?
Was your older ram ddr3? Make sure your motherboard can support that.
My HP 15 with Windows 10 is terrible. It takes 5 minutes to respond when you click on something, 8 minutes to open Chrome.
i have a few of silly noob questions:
i saw for sale $40 stick of 1TB RAM. is there any catches? shall i get as much as possible, or 32GB shall be enough?
will it affect the files on the laptop, temporary files and stuff, like tabs in my browser, etc.?
Don't buy, no such thing as a 1TB ram stick, especially not for $40. 32gb is more than enough for most laptops. If you're doing high end gaming or 3d rendering, then yes, more is better.
And no, ram does not store long term data, so it will not affect your files.
Are laptop ram generally universal in size? If so, are are there any laptops that have a non-standardized ram slots?
There are differences between ddr3 and ddr4 so-dimm ram so you will need to check your laptop by either checking the spec sheet or speaking with the manufacturer and giving them the model number. Most modern laptops are so-dimm however there may be high end gaming/workstation laptops that use non so-dimm ram similar to a PC tower. Again check your laptop as there are hundreds and hundreds of different models and configuration.
My laptop can't run games with good graphics and high fps, but it can still have good graphics on images. Would ram improve this?
Nope. You need to buy a graphics card like nvdia or rtx.
If you want to improve FPS on games, you can install more RAM onto your laptop
@@nicholasfahey3497 install?
@@theamazingsoup Install means place or fix (equipment or machinery) in position ready for use
@@nicholasfahey3497 oh i thought you meant literally download ram💀
Is it safe to use other type of ram for exemple I have a 16 gigs of ram stick on ddr5 if I use a DDR4 stick with more or less ram will it work ?
Ddr4 and ddr5 have different pins. So, if your motherboard supports ddr4 then it CANNOT have ddr5 vice versa
Got the 16 stick but instead of it adding ram it’s preventing my laptop from Turing on
Have you fixed it?
Are this ram compatible for dell inspiron 14 7425 14
it might use ddr4 or ddr3 so you should check a ram manufacturer like crucial and find the dell inspiron to see the ram compatabilty

I have a gaming laptop, it's good but the ram kinda holds it back since it's only 8gb, this video helped a lot
Which one? Im looking to buy a good one for fortnite and dont mind upgrading the ram. Im looking for a good laptop.
@@Everything_Edits7 well honestly any laptop with a GTX 1650 is pretty cheap nowadays, but it's actually a great graphics card.
@@enchiladas2.047 which one do you have
@@Everything_Edits7 it's a victus 15fb, with Ryzen 5 and a GTX 1650, but if I were to recommend one it would definitely be the "ROG flow x13", it's a dream laptop
When upgrading the RAM, do i have to use the same brand?
It's better
It's generally not good practice to mix brands....while it may work fine, there's also no guarantee. The "latency" between chip brands can often vary!....so there's a chance your RAM chips will kinda be out of sync, which can actually slow your CPU down, or it won't perform as Good as it should with those RAM upgrades.....that's the way I understand it in simple terms. I've never tried to see if this is true, but that's what other people say.
Woww! That is the same laptop i have!
How to upgrade laptop storage capacity
merci
wait so if i add ram, is that adding storage too or do i still buy more storage if i need it.
ram isnt storage is just is something that memorizes things from the cpu and directs it into stoage
Before my laptop killed itself I was going to upgrade the ram because it had 2 slots (one extra). I had to buy a new laptop and found out that there was only one slot which was annoying.
If i upgrade my ram when i re-start my pc will it ask for windows download n all stuff ?
No, should just be plug in play
If I have two RAM slots, do they both need to be the same size (both 16gb for example)?
Yes you can, but it might affect performance. I’d do more research as all I did was a quick google search
@@Partaz Ok cool! Lmk if you find anything! ☺️
What i meant is if i were u i would do more research lol@@xGatorchomp28x
I have a question. If i upgrade my ram, does my laptop factory reset or not?
It doesn't
I was wondering why it looked eerily similar to the insides of my laptop until I realised its the same as mine XD. If only I had the same memory
Love it!!!
And how this ram company steal ur information...
Can you un solder ram and re solder a new one?
My laptop said it had 4 slots but I only see 2 where are the other 2
What type of laptop do you have maybe I can help?
I bought DDR3/DDR3L SODIMM for my DELL Latitude E6430 and I'm ready to upgrade it from 8GB to 16GB. I'm going to do the same to the Lenovo IdeaPad N580.
Do all computer have the same RAM?
Well of course not... There are different generations of memory over the past 25+ years. Modern computers usually have DDR4 or DDR5 RAM. RAM is neither backwards nor forwards compatible.
i think im watching this on that exact laptop 😂😂asus vivobook its slow as shit
you dont need to download just ask your AI for your RAM compatibility for your PC and laptop
Okay but how do you remove it? Seems like info we would need if we're upgrading
Push the side metal clips that holding the ram outward at the same time
Thanks
I frickin hate ram i only have 8 gigabytes and i can’t play any games
