Cool video, I think the deep roots purple counts as a numbered card even though it is not numbered. My hobby box had a purple deep roots and no numbered card also. Such a rush opening the hobby boxes.

I’ve seen a couple of those Caufield gaze cards being pulled over the last 24 hours and can see the long term appeal of keeping one of those cards. I definitely think it’s has a lot of sleeper value if kept in perfect condition over the years. It’s a pretty rad pull..
I think Caufield’s is one of the cooler ones too, he’s got a great glare 👀
i bought 6 blasters and hit 4 bedard's 2 young guns and 2 glossy 1 being gold and one of the young guns is a check list with leo

As someone who can still remember when packs were 20 cents and had gum, this is definitely an event. You are right about all this ROI nonsense. If you sell right away, potentially not terrible. But it’s not even in the equation for me for this rip. Any singles I sell to recoup some of the cost is gravy, and the only reason I’m selling is because I don’t particularly care to keep it in my collection, so may as well. I definitely wouldn’t recommend buying this particular product with the goal of making a profit, unless you consider lottery tickets a good way to make a living!

Definitely not sure if this is just a 2023-24 thing. Who's to say the prices won't be like this for any other future hyped prospect? Why not do this same thing for Celebrini when it's his time?

Celebrini is certainly the real deal, one of the better 1OA prospects in recent years, but I don’t think he’s on the same planet as Bedard; his play, hype, and fan love just isn’t anywhere close. The thing about Bedard is he’s been established to be the next Gretzky/crosby/mdavid in the hobby, and everyone sees this as their one shot to get that rookie card etc that will become worth a fortune in the future (in theory). People hate on UD but forgot a lot of this is driven by the consumer demand, which is insanely high right now. We could say this has set a precedent, but if they try to keep these prices and the demand isn’t there, the bubble will pop. I’ve gone back and forth on this, but yeah.

100% agree it's on us as consumers to not set a bad precedent. But honestly I think that's the exact thing that's going to happen. 2023-24 is going to set a bad precedent and it'll spill over into 2024-25 (already seen pre orders for 24-25 MVP at $80 Canadian).
If I'm the one guy still opening stuff from 2020-21 to 2022-23 then so be it. I'll keep watching your vids bud.
I'll be that guy too! Sneak peak I have a retail box of 2020-21 MVP on the way for $31. That's 86 cents a pack. Gunna rip it on the channel with my daughter and have a great time. First of all....Bedard is NO McDavid....2ndly, they have made so much more of this product than ANYONE EVEN KNOWS...THEY SECRETLY HAVE MASS PRODUCED THIS SO THEY CAN KEEP SELLING IT FOR YEARS TO COME....I love Bedard but show me one Superduperstar his size that has gone on to become one of the greatest ever...You can't...He's too little and his shelf life is on the clock..Happy collecting but just remember...size MATTERS!

i got 2 hobby boxes... not sure if i should just sit on them permanently or rip them lol ..
100% rip them I say. It’s really only worth it to hold long term if you have a case or two, and even then it’s a risky investment. With only two boxes, people may think you ripped most of a case and already got your Bedards. Rip them because it’s so damn fun and then throw a couple hundred bucks in Apple stock or something lol
@@jean-luc-bedard well I dont really open cards..I only collect 1 player and have always bought what I wanted.. a buddy of mine owed me some cash from a previous trade and offered me these instead ... I don't really wanna sell them but am thinking more of a collector item down the road
