Had heared a summary of the game, now i'm getting addicted to this ost. Funfact: seems there's a theory that the background shriekings around the second half of the song could be Saya's real voice representation, really spine chilling.
This song in particular I find beautiful and calming, as well as subtly terrifying at the same time. Its soothing to listen to, yet something eerie can be quietly heard too.
Haha I like seeing people's takes on Saya's true form, imo if she looks like her 'experiment' did then she's more like a flesh maggot with tentacles rather than anything resembling a human being, and based on how tall Fuminori's delusional brain sees her she's probably no wider or longer than a large dog. She also has the ability to shrink until she's just a puddle of goo on the floor which is obviously great for sneaking around.
This is a story of love, the most purest kind of love two beings can share with each other yet the actions they take for their love has been twisted and distorted in such a way that it can physically disgust you but in the end you can't help but feel conflicted about who is the true antagonist, the man willing to save humanity from a man that has tossed his away or a man lost in insanity by unfortunate circumstances desperately clinging on to the only hope and love he can find in a sick and mutilated world he used to call home.
Man, how can you disregard humanity so much to the point to put it at the same level of a man who murdered and ate human flesh willingly. Don't be a fool, it's clear as water who ARE the antagonist. Love? Why ppl try so hard to romanticize anything? If anything this is about obsession if you want to label that relationship, or more accurately stockholm syndrome. Will you call love to the feeling a persons feels towards his kidnapper? Its similar, only that in this story the whole world is a tinny 4 wall room. You have to see where the feeling come and what are the fruits. And let me tell you, becoming a monster is not the fruit of love.
@@Agev_Cris considering one is an alien incapable of understanding the value of human life and the other is someone who was driven insane by his mind visions I think they are antagonists but Saya loves Fuminori to an extent, though Fuminori is just crazy and its not "love"
Try to read "Schizoid phenomena, Object-relations and the Self". The chapter about identification. This game is real. It's a love obsession based on identification. You know, I'll just put it here (sorry, It's google translate) " We will try to illustrate the state of identification with the object of love with the texts of Ngaio Marsh (1935), a famous writer of detective novels. In Becoming a Killer, she creates the character of Zourbonadier, a bad actor whose immaturity manifests itself in being a drug addict and a blackmailer. Stefania Sogan, the main character of the novel, says: “He was terribly in love with me. However, these words do not mean anything. He was completely and completely absorbed in this feeling, as if he had no reality outside of me.” " Outside of Saya there is literally no reality for Fuminori. That's exactly the case. This game is a perfect illustration for this state.
Why am I more emotionally attached to this inhuman monster than pretty much any of the "waifus" that were featured in anything that came out in the past 10 years?
It was pretty well explained in the VN. The human instincts and feelings she developed were depicted pretty raw so her character is in design basically way more realistic in regards to handling emotions than any of the usual "waifus" which are mostly designed after some kind of schema and often are more than interchangeable with eachother. Even her cruel aspects are things that you can find somewhere in every human mind, though we usually just supress them.

I always considered this the first real "falling to darkness" theme for both Saya and Fuminori. Sin being the "fallen" theme. Of course, by falling/fallen, I only mean a willingness to forsake typical human decency. Especially on Fuminori's part. Saya is in the interesting position of being simultaneously too innocent to understand the difference, and too predatorial for it to come to mind. She's a stranded bioengineered lifeform surrounded by actual extra-dimensional aliens, so human morality isn't even a concept that can be compared. Fuminori however, is still human. A human with some serious problems yes, but human nonetheless. Fuminori abandons the conventions of humanity for his own comfort's sake.
