Scott peck and his book, The Road Less Travelled, saved my life. I mean that literally. I must have read that first line "life is difficult" a few hundred times before I started reading the book. The rest of the book impacted every aspect of my life. It helped me get over life long depression and finally learn to love life and actually want to be alive. That book is very much my bible.

The story of three harpies was for me the best part of Mr.Peck's book. Also, there's this story about discipline and Opra's great life story.

Oprah ruined this interview talking over him and too much and then advertising 12min in to buy her mediation stuff. How greedy and pathetic that is.

I can't even illustrate how much this man has helped me and changed me with his book. I can't even imagine what a book could do to me before I read his. He is the most helpful mentor I had in my life. I was lucky and read his book at the time being thirst for change and understanding of human and life. I am just so thankful to him. I literally had tears while listening to this video. I really wish I could still see him on screen nowadays. RIP M. Scott Peck, I love you.

Peck admired Erich Fromm, but he was by far better than Fromm. He really, deeply changed my life for good. I am glad to be one of his followers. He was also a man of God and analized Cristianism like noone else did or could before or after him. Rest in peace, Dr.

OMG! SO happy I found this. I had taped this (VHS) back when it was first on. Oprah had a week of "inspirational guests". This was when she was still on broadcast TV. Before Soul Sunday stuff. I think even before her book club.
My tape finally disintegrated after replaying it so much.
The other guests that week were: Deepak Chopra, Elie Weisal, Peck, and 2 others I cannot remember.
SO excited you have the audio.
    Big fan of Scotty 😉
I even wrote him a fan letter once. He replied!
    Anyways thanks for this.

True many psychological problems himself as most people in the mental health profession are attracted to psychology to solve their own. I went to a psychologist and she had more issues than I had. This doesn’t mean I think they aren’t helping people but some are screwed up. His books are helpful though. I think most psychological problems are spiritual not all have brain causal connection. He also had numerous affairs so he had his demons as we all do.

Could it be we are here to learn to how be happy and that we indeed are deserving and to learn to give thanks to whoever needs to hear it, and should. Dr. peck is gone now, but I think i have a different view of him than I did in the 90’s when his book came out, I don’t know what he died of but I just didn’t get a good vibe. He was Scottish background but wanted to be English 😅.

I hear you; she does interrupt the interviewee.
I do think she made some salient points, however.
Oprah Winfrey is a populist, very skilled at manipulation of people in general and she relentlessly presented her image on her magazine's cover, month by month, whilst being in Truth, largely part of the machine of consumerism.

  • @dianeibsen5994

I don't think that's necessarily true. love is not a feeling. love can be a feeling, it's not always a feeling. And it's a bit trite to say, oh you can't don't sit around and complain about your parents. it's not about complaining it's about working through. Its a process. And perhaps complaining 'is a part" of that. Also, I like what Oprah said about God being a jealous God. Right!!?

For somebody to take apart a farmer’s machine in his field in the middle of the night, equipped with the flashlights and wrenches that would dismantle the whole thing, and to do this with four others under cover of darkness , is the height of evil, even if it done at ten years of age. And to write a book on evil when this little monster grows up and profits from it !! ? How old was he when he died ? Is Lily still alive ?
