I'm 67 and, when I was young the winters in Oklahoma were just like the weather is now. Deep snow and sleet and ice. We used to wear these big one-piece red plastic jumpsuits over our warm clothes, coats, scarves and gloves. We looked like fat little red Michelin people, but we were warm and dry. Regarding you being in Kentucky, my daughter and I lived in KY for one year, in a small town outside of Louisville. We loved our rent home, and were surrounded by a horse farm s it was a beautiful quiet place to live. In February of the year in Kentucky there was a huge snow storm and we received 2 feet of snow!
Those red jumpsuits sound so warm! All the matters in the winter is staying warm and dry. Thats so awesome! It’s been years since we have had a lot of snow. Right now we have about 8 inches and are loving it.
Wow - 3 years already. I've been around since your beginning You Tube and starting the house renovations. That's what attracted me, renovating a wonderful old home. You guys have come a long way in the process. I think taking your time and doing what the budget will allow was the right choice. AND ...I saw 2 glimpses of your new pantry in this video. Sure would like to see a video tour of the pantry completed, how it's set up and your organization. TY. Happy New Year to you and Ben! We are in SE Kentucky and we are getting snow too but I don’t think it’s going to amount to much. Looks like a fun & cozy day! I was so excited to see another post!
My husband and I are on a time crunch this year with our old house. We did some renovating the first year, 2023, When my son was a newborn-10 months. (mostly cosmetic stuff, and unfortunately my husband had to spend lots of time getting all the wells on the property running.) 2024 we had both of our crawlspaces encapsulated, and we got new siding and gutters. Now I’m pregnant with our 2nd child, and we have about 7 months to make our attic into my husbands office, renovate the upstairs bathroom, and paint the baby room.
Loved your video and we did the same thing , lived in our farmhouse while renovating except had the kitchen and bathroom done downstairs because the kitchen was needing new cupboards which the carpenter custom made from our own lumber. This was my husband’s grandparents farm who died years ago and some aunts owned it. We bought it in the eighties. But I was 18 and hubby was 22 when we got married 56 years ago 😊May God bless your home and farmhouse and your New Year.
I see you have the picture Grace above your stove.The photo was taken in Bovey, Minnesota.We drive through the town every time we go visit relatives. Stay warm !!!
Also in KY 🙂we were hit harder with the storm and out of power for a few days. It is gorgeous out there with all the ice and snow!!! Ya'll are doing great with the renovations. With an old house you always run into more than you counted on. Love seeing your progress!
Great video! Your pantry is beautiful. We had 11" of snow last weekend and about 2" last night. That's a lot of snow for Kansas now days. I pray you folks don't get the ice! Thank you for sharing your day with us💜
The chicken soup looked so good. Snowing here in Va too and expecting 4-6 inches so I put on vegetable beef soup in the crockpot. 😊 I love your pantry and the color green that you painted it. You all are doing a fantastic job! Stay warm. ☃️❄️🙏
I was thinking of you and the farm. And guess what? Here you are. We got 6 inches. It was so beautiful. I actually went outside, and took pictures of the snow on my house and several houses, up and down the street. Really the first time I used my I phone to click away. Of course, made a couple mistakes. My tinted glasses went really dark, and my fumbling, actually turned the pictures into selfies. Thanks for being here, to share and allow us to share our ups and downs with you....e
No hate or judgement but are you going to finish the trim work and ceiling in the dining room soon? I really like what you’ve done with it and would love to see finished ‘after’. 😊✌🏼
As of right now we don’t have plans to. We got a quote for custom trim to replace what was previously in here and for it and the bead board ceiling it would be several thousand dollars. We would rather spend that money on other areas of the house and come back to that later.
And here we sit in PA only expecting 1-3 inches of snow. It's been nothing but bitter cold here and what little bit of snow we get does stick around. We just don't get the snow accumulation like we did when i was a kid. Now 45 yrs old. Use to be amazing for snowmobiling and for yrs now people have to load them up and go North just to ride. Seeing the south getting pounded by this storm just wishing we'd get it. Nope, by the time it reaches us it won't be so bad. Boooo!!!! Definitely miss snow storms that snowed us in for day's. ❤

Same, when I was a kid, I remember getting so much snow. Now we get 2, maybe 3 good snows each winter. I hope you get some snow soon!
