90s were the peak of Goa Trance music, untill year 2000 when it "died" the genre untill it was back in 2004 with the first New school Goa artists. fortunately we still can enjoy this vibe nowdays with Festivals like ZNA Gathering or Apsara Festival.
Several people used to throw full moon parties in the foothills and mountains of Colorado. Dunno if they're still at it, but the people I knew have all gone their separate ways. I miss it but I got old.

Why not both? A lot of festivals i go to play Goa and Psytrance. And there's plenty of sifferent Psy subgenres that don't suck. You just seem a bit elitist.
