I bought myself the V100 in red earlier this year. I absolutely love this bike. To me, the red one looks like a futuristic Le Mans. Guzzi have managed to make a modern engine while still retaining the character of their air-cooled twins (albeit slightly moderated). The handling is superb, no problem getting the pegs down, and the thrust is plentiful from low revs without feeling intimidating. It's a bike that you can manage easily in heavy traffic, but also make some serious progress when the roads open up. It's all-day comfortable too. I personally have the 'wings' deactivated except for 'Rain' mode. They really come into their own in the rain, where they do a fantastic job of keeping your nether regions dry. they also help in particularly cold weather, so I use 'Rain' mode when there's frost about. I opted for the heated grips, the media mod and the extra USB socket in the cockpit. The media mod is very useful for music and sat-nav. The heated grips never get particularly hot, but they do the job. I will probably swap out the rear shock as it's a tad on the harsh side, but it has settled down a bit over time. Other add-ons have been the Guzzi engine bars, a Pyramid fender extender, Evo-Tech radiator guard and front spindle bobbins, Givi hand guards and an SW-Motech sump guard. The standard mudguard does nothing to protect the engine and radiator, so I wanted to add as much protection as possible. The dealer I bought it from was offering the panniers for free, which was a huge bonus. And finally - you mentioned awards - the V100 Mandello won Bike Magazine's 'Bike of the Year' for 2023 (September issue).
Excellent, really great to hear from owners 😁 especially when it supports what first impressions give😁 never knew about bike mag 😁 very deserved 😁 all I can say about MCN is that someone else must have made a back hander 😂😂😂 thanks RP 😁

Nice review, thanks. I recently bought the V100S, I agree it's a stunning looking machine. Your fuel gauge is just below the 'fuel range', I was wondering if the regular spec'd machine didn't have one when you mentioned it but I could clearly see it on your's when you fired it up after your walk-around. I'm sure you've found it by now.😊

It may be called active aero' but its main benefit is in stopping your legs getting wet when it's raining. It keeps the wind off your legs like how a small fairing does so makes for a more relaxing ride. The V100 Mandello S model with the improved suspension seems to be an excellent sports tourer for those preferring the emphasis being more toward sports than touring. If the new engine wasn't so down on power relative to the competition then it'd be selling in far bigger numbers.
I think it is absolutely beautiful but when we went to look at it Mrs Mike doesn't like the looks. I can't wait to see the new Stelvio with this engine in I think that is going to be a marvellous bike but might be a bit tall for us shorties.
Hi, not a comment on this video but an observation on your outings with Banana Man and the MBK, why not get a sidestand 'puck' you can slip into your pocket with some string on to lift it up when you leave, I have one and it is realy handy esp during the TT races when you have to park on grass to watch the races. Love the videos, been binge watching them as only just discovered your channel,..Marvelous. ATB Mark (Isle of Man )
Another great video TAYM ( how do you find the time?) It's a great bike and Moto Guzzi have made a seriously refined motorcycle without a hint of 'retro', but it's a bit heavier and taller than my V7 so my old legs won't be able to manage it. Also it costs more than double a V7 special. Although, I am sure it's worth every penny. Back in the summer I met an owner on his way home from a huge European tour on one. After a couple of thousand miles he was still in love with it.
Yes, pitty they couldn’t do the S model for the price of the basic, that would have really made it I think 😁 that’s the kind of praise you want to hear 😁 thanks B 😁

Great review of a great bike TAYM👍🏻 as an owner of a mandello s I would say the bike is 99% brilliant. My wife and I completed the NC500 this year and found the comfort easily 2hrs doable, tank range 200 plus, engine is more the powerful enough two up and a head turner when ever you stop. Downsides- OEM panniers are small for two people touring and the heated grips could be hotter (like BMW’s) but other then that it’s a great bike, a bike you should definitely buy ( I am bias don’t you know 😉)
Yeah they look gorgeous bikes. Unfortunately no one sells them round my way or I'd have a look. Just brought one of the best winter bikes ever made home today from Haywards though so I'm happy:)

Years ago when I was touring I’d definitely would have wanted the Mandello. Depends often on the width of the seat but perhaps would be a little too high for me to be comfortable getting on and off. I had a Breva 1100, which I used for touring, and surprisingly that had a lower seat height than the V7 Classic I replaced it with in 2008! That was fine for me! But yes, back in the day, I’d have wanted a Mandello! 👍🤣
Thanks for that, great looking bike! Pity Guzzi weren’t at the NEC, I wanted to see this bike and the new Stelvio. But I have considered this to replace my faithful old air cooled 1200GS. Cheers.
Very nice. I'd love one, but I wouldn't be able to get past the CFO 😁😆😅🤣😂. I'll make do with the budget Italian, and there is nothing wrong with him either 👍. Great stuff m8
You were thrilled with it the first time, thought you were going to get one but then you got the Thruxton. Any regrets? Tempted myself but at 815 a little tall perhaps.
Apparently Motto Guzzi are extremely reliable and this model The Mandello makes 113bhp and does a whopping 135mph. I like the Triumph Bonneville but with it's reputation for being top heavy and unreliable, l think I'd rather have this. After watching Freddie Dobbs channel l don't think Triumph will be selling very many bikes. I can't afford this beautiful Mandello anyway but it's a beauty. I'm gonna stick with my Honda, reliable, affordable, fast 😆
I like everything about it except for the headlight. But I am talking from a fully personnel point of view. It will keep you knees dry and hot in the winter times. Next Guzzi test .. California 1400 😁😁 Nick Adams's style Guzzies .. At one time years ago, I almost bought second hand Nevada 750 cruiser. I don't know what is about Guzzies but I love them, specially the old ones. 😁😁
It's a lovely bike TAYM dare I say probably one of Guzzi's best looking bikes to date a good character bike me thinks. Have to ask the question TAYM Guzzi V100 or the bike with no name which would it be if you had to choose ? I think I know the answer . I would have one I think because they are an interesting bike I really like those wing ding bits too 😁 .👌👍Fab!!
Certainly a great looking bike. I’ve got a V7 and I always say that it will be the last bike to go out of the garage as it just looks great. It does nothing brilliantly except looking great. As a MG owner unfortunately you do have to be a realist, the dealer network is generally useless and more importantly the back up to the network from MG is equally useless when things go wrong (which they tend to do when the customer is acting as MG’s R+D department). Piaggio’s pricing is also a bit off given the competition even from their own Brands such as Aprillia with the V4 Tuono.
@@TAYM I have a Triumph Street Scrambler , a Bullet 500 Trials replica and an XSR700 A La LC350, I could part the XSR and go for the BSA and have a British trio.😜😜
Nice bike 👍. We tried the V7 Stone before purchasing our T100. Unfortunately, the demo bike had a few issues (rough running, cutting out and some spurious electronic gremlins) so our ride was cut short. True to his word, the dealer rang a few days later after they'd sorted it all out but I'd been put off. Hopefully, in the four years that have passed Moto Guzzi have improved things.
MG like beautiful ladies, very enticing, gorgeous but I would never be tempted due to my experience at a dealers. If you look across the net their dealer support is not well thought of. The depreciation wicked. So if you court a beautiful woman be prepared to get bitten. The attraction is the rarity and difference. Thanks for the ride. I had a friend with an aprilia a gorgeous bike but the dealer support non existent. The new bikes from benelli and voge are amongst the best newcomers challenging RE but dealer support?

Thanks for that, great looking bike! Pity Guzzi weren’t at the NEC, I wanted to see this bike and the new Stelvio. But I have considered this to replace my faithful old air cooled 1200GS. Cheers.
Thanks MB 😁 it will be interesting to try the new Stelvio 😁
Very nice. I'd love one, but I wouldn't be able to get past the CFO 😁😆😅🤣😂. I'll make do with the budget Italian, and there is nothing wrong with him either 👍. Great stuff m8
😂😂 thanks IT 😁 the TRKs are very nice and you just can’t get hold of them over here, selling faster than they can get them 😁
You were thrilled with it the first time, thought you were going to get one but then you got the Thruxton. Any regrets? Tempted myself but at 815 a little tall perhaps.
This is a far more practical bike I think but the Thruxton ❤️❤️❤️❤️ what can I say 😁😂😂😂 thanks JB 😁
@@TAYM yeah, the Thrux is a beautiful thing...
@@AuxesisHyperbole666 😁
I agree Lovely bike, but I certainly wouldn't want to drop it looks a lot to get damaged especially those exhaust pipes.
No, definitely needs some protection 😁 thanks P 😁
I'm 6 ft-1 and got the high comfort seat from Guzzi as I found the legroom a tad cramped. As a bonus the seat is also heated.
Thanks KK 😁 excellent, how much was that 😁
@@TAYM It was reasonably priced for an OEM part, I think it was $350 Canadian dollars
@@kingkrimson8771 not bad, the seat for the SV was £320 from Italy so about the same
Great review of a stunning machine. If I had the money I’d definitely have one - shame they don’t do a black one that would look ace I recon. !
Thanks MA 😁
Apparently Motto Guzzi are extremely reliable and this model The Mandello makes 113bhp and does a whopping 135mph.
I like the Triumph Bonneville but with it's reputation for being top heavy and unreliable, l think I'd rather have this.
After watching Freddie Dobbs channel l don't think Triumph will be selling very many bikes.
I can't afford this beautiful Mandello anyway but it's a beauty.
I'm gonna stick with my Honda, reliable, affordable, fast 😆
And that’s why the Japanese are so successful 😁 thanks MR 😁
If I had the garage room and the money I'd have one like a shot.
Euro millions is a big one 😁😂😂 fingers crossed 😁 thanks SB 😁
Come on guys TAYM 🦒 deserves a few more thums 👍 up not hard to give HIM one👍.
I often give him one 😂
Marvellous Big Shaft 😮
😁
😂😂😂😂
Massive shaft 😁😂😂
A splendiferous beautiful bike💖💖💖💖 Really! But my wallet….. empty🤣🤣🤣
Thanks Lilian 😁
I like everything about it except for the headlight. But I am talking from a fully personnel point of view. It will keep you knees dry and hot in the winter times. Next Guzzi test .. California 1400 😁😁 Nick Adams's style Guzzies .. At one time years ago, I almost bought second hand Nevada 750 cruiser. I don't know what is about Guzzies but I love them, specially the old ones. 😁😁
I know what you mean, I think it’s that they have changed without changing, there is nothing like them 🤔 thanks Stefan 😁
Style and elegance personified (the Guzzi TAYM, not you) 🤣
😂😂😂 thanks TP 🙄
It's a lovely bike TAYM dare I say probably one of Guzzi's best looking bikes to date a good character bike me thinks. Have to ask the question TAYM Guzzi V100 or the bike with no name which would it be if you had to choose ? I think I know the answer . I would have one I think because they are an interesting bike I really like those wing ding bits too 😁 .👌👍Fab!!
You do know the answer and I was looking at the only remaining new one in the country this afternoon 😁 thanks Crumb 😁
A truly beautiful bike 👍
Indeed 😁 don’t you think the headlamp is like the Honda 🤔😁
@@TAYM I never noticed it before but it does indeed look like the skinny younger brother 🤣🤣🤣of the NT
@@blearyview2254 😂😂😂
@@blearyview2254 so how does that sit with the ugly duckling and the Italian beauty 🤔 strange huh 🤔
I tried to buy one from an MG dealer his attitude was lamentable so glad didn’t. Undoubtedly beautiful product but zero back up
Yes, a lot of owners say similar 🤔 and yet they seem to stick with it 😁 says a lot about the bikes in a weird way 😁 thanks SM 😁
Odd isn’t it 🤔😂😂

Another excellent video but i think you are getting far too excited 😂😂
Far too excited I am afraid 😂😂😂 thanks JG 😁
The Italians are bringing out a retro motorcycle based on a WW2 classic, apparently it goes faster in reverse.
😂😂 I have heard that one for years 😂😂😂 I heard it differently about tank gears and having one forward and five reverse 😁
@@TAYM I do love the Guzzis though, maybe next summer I’ll trade in one of mine for the V7
@@VinCent-xy5lg I might join you 😞
@@TAYM I have a Triumph Street Scrambler , a Bullet 500 Trials replica and an XSR700 A La LC350, I could part the XSR and go for the BSA and have a British trio.😜😜
@@VinCent-xy5lg sounds like a marvellous plan 😁
Lots of serious damage if you happen to drop it.
Yep, a bit of protection wouldn’t go a miss 😁 thanks AR 😁
Nice bike 👍. We tried the V7 Stone before purchasing our T100. Unfortunately, the demo bike had a few issues (rough running, cutting out and some spurious electronic gremlins) so our ride was cut short. True to his word, the dealer rang a few days later after they'd sorted it all out but I'd been put off. Hopefully, in the four years that have passed Moto Guzzi have improved things.
Always a worry when the demo bike isn’t right 🤔 thanks PGB 😁
MG like beautiful ladies, very enticing, gorgeous but I would never be tempted due to my experience at a dealers. If you look across the net their dealer support is not well thought of. The depreciation wicked. So if you court a beautiful woman be prepared to get bitten. The attraction is the rarity and difference. Thanks for the ride. I had a friend with an aprilia a gorgeous bike but the dealer support non existent. The new bikes from benelli and voge are amongst the best newcomers challenging RE but dealer support?
Yes, it all comes down to dealer networks and how manufacturers respond 😁 thanks Volt 😁
@@TAYM not enamoured with my suzuki dealer tbh. £445 plus vat fot interim service as v strom still under warranty. 4k service due to= oil change, “checks” throttle bodies balanced. !!!!!!
