Yeah, Tommy loved going to Blaydon for a change. There are some great stations along the Tyne Valley. They just don't get as busy or as much variation of trains.
Ah brilliant. Bust my phone the other day, so have been watching RUclips videos to keep my sanity. This video cheered me up no end. Thank you and hope you had a great day.
Methinks that your reputation is spreading and that the crews are looking out for you two - especially when you are on your local patch of stations. So much the better for getting positive responses. Keep up the good work. I am getting used to the accent but I doubt that I would ever be able to match some of the pronunciations of place names. Twenty five years of SW London followed by five decades in S Essex have put paid to any chance of that! My childhood spotter activities were a mixture of third and fourth rail commuter services and steam for express and freight traffic. Those days are gone, so make sure that you have plenty of still images safely stored for when you start publishing your "those were the days" books.
Tommy's Geordie accent isn't too strong unless his Nana has looked after him recently 😂 I definitely think the drivers are recognising him, especially when we're at Cramlington. It helps that the Northern drivers and conductors know him as well. Thanks for watching 😊
@@Tommys_Trains One of the delights of your channel is the banter between you two. The informative flash-up are enough extra information so please do not clog up the screen with subtitles. We just have to listen carefully. When I helped to run a survey at my 1960s London secondary school we found one year that there were 33 different languages spoken at home. This produced multiple accents in class as all our teaching was done in English but we were expected ( indeed, made ) to listen to each other. I have since spent just over 50 years working with the 11 - 18 age group ( recently retired well over age ) so I have done a lot more listening as well as speaking. The great advance in human development was the art of conversation so encourage it through your videos. Some of those other lads that you spot with may well have their world opened up by talking with you two. My model railways - all the diesel age - have been packed away for years. Too much time allocated to my book collection, DVDs, VHS tapes not to mention commenting on RUclips. If you want to see how us lads dressed for train travel in my childhood, the lack of staff safety gear and some very dangerous train spotting practice - no wonder one of my younger associates got killed - watch this video ruclips.net/video/7NEwrjQtrKo/видео.htmlsi=WpEWnfstAZI28a0O All power to your channel. @@michaelcobb3347 that video was great. I can't believe that's how things were done back then. This lads spotting looked pretty fashionable despite the lack of safety. Thanks for the advice. We're always looking for feedback 😊
What an entertainer? He learns his line so well so should do well at school. A future Prime Minister who loves trains? Got to be good news. How old is Tommy please?
Thank you so much, he's very happy with those comments and his parents are very proud. Tommy is 5 and a half years old. Trainspotting has definitely helped improve his reading, numeracy and other skills 😊
@@Tommys_Trains Well I have just turned Seventy5 and 2 weeks, am rather grumpy and not particularly enamoured by chikldren. But he has made me smile, so thank you Tommy.
Thanks, Tommy. I never expected to see a dinosaur out trainspotting. Thanks, Dad, for the captures, especially of the Black 5. BTW, my Aussie ears just don't pick up a word of what you're saying, Dad, but that's my problem, not yours! Keep at it, Tommy.
😂 he loves that hat I've considered trying to put subtitles on or maybe the transcript in the video descriptions so that those not from the North East of England understand what we're saying. @@Tommys_Trains I wouldn't bother if I were you. As a retired video maker I know what hard work they'd be. As a long-time watcher on TV of Vera, I should be better at Geordie-speak than I am. It's just old age. B
oh bless him waving and giving the thumbs up to every train that came through Blaydon. They could have given a toot or waved back miserable lot
😂
We know they're doing a safety critical job so understand (or at least give them a pass) if they don't acknowledge us 😂
BIG Beep to begin, great route guide, Black 5 and a Bonus Boeing 😊
Thank you 😊
Nice change!

What a treat to see a black 5 one of my favourite’s

@@Tommys_Trains ok, thanks for replying
Shame on the number of Northern drivers on this video that didn’t even wave to the kid…..doesn’t take much to please your future Customers!!
Yeah, we love it when they do wave or beep but also know that they're doing a safety critical job, especially when pulling into a station.
Do you have a denim jacket
Daddy does but Tommy doesn't. Why? Did you see us?
