while hacking is a pretty shitty thing to do it was a little funny to see a strong monster constantly going to sleep from getting tapped by the chargeblade

Honestly, most weapons actually have -better- crafted variants, the relics are just nice because they can have a combination that's otherwise difficult to acquire, or include +4/5 in a relic skill that will go nicely with a sage charm. Like you can just make yourself a weapon with a ton of raw with huge element/status and purple sharpness or white that goes to purple with sharpness +1 and also make it have 3 slots and the possibility to equip uncraftable jewels like edgemaster jewels or readiness jewels or something. No one will probably ever get a weapon that good even if they played a couple thousand hours but it's still not cheating because in theory it is possible to get that weapon...
+Otsisossi I mean, I've hunted over 25 Raging Brachy's with multiple breaks and most tails and have all of 3 immortal reactors to show for it (2 of which I immediately used). The RNG has always been shit, and to complain about it over something that goes directly to weapon makes less sense to me than complaining over drops on a monster that -completely determine- if you can even consider making a certain armor set or weapon. And I want to emphasize, Relic Weapons are NOT better than the best crafted variants. They usually just gave a small difference in some way. Hell, gunners don't even really have a solid reason to consider relics, since the best LBG and HBG are _definitively_ not relics. IG is up in the air (The blast on relics gets nowhere near the blast on Hellruin Glaive Omen or even Dalamadur's glaive combinations), but the colors on Leumundslist are pretty awesome. And if we're gonna go after unfair, it's really the armor. A legitimate full relic set can somewhat reasonaby obtain Honed Blade, Challenger+2, Steady Hand, and a last relic armor skill of some sort, as long as you have a good talisman, and at no cost to their armor levels.
+AlisterCountel The rng on monster parts isnt nearly as bad though. have you ever seen a player with 1000 hours of playtime who doesnt have the hellruin glaive because they didnt get a elderdragon gem? No, because that has never happened and will not ever happen. With relics we are on a whole other level though. Theres loads of people who have grinded guild quests hundreds upon hundreds of times but havent gotten a single good relic. Maybe you hunted 25 raging brachydios to get 3 reactors but thats pretty much nothing compared to like 600 rajangs and 0 exceptionally good relics. Sure the relics would be good IF they were just variants for some kinds of weapons that dont exist in the game. But when theres people with greatsworda with 1600+ raw, 3 slots, purple sharpness and a ridiculous amount of status/element it is pretty ridiculous. And for that kind of weapons you need extremely good luck or you need to cheat. The whole relic weapon system mostly just rewards cheaters. Just like one guy previously said on this thread, most people have to resort to custom quests etc to get good relics. The gunner weapons are of course a exception but the blademaster weapons that most people use can be very op with relics. I dont mind the armors so much since you can only have points in one skill per piece and it's way more pleasant to hunt for an armor piece than a weapon. Only things people tend to care on the armors is the skill and some poeple want to gwt a nice skin but that isnt too hard either. Most people dont really care for the defensive stats of relics but even the best ones dont exceed the craftable sets too much. Also since the regular armor pieces in mh4u have a more slots than in the previous games and with relics you lose the slots. Relic armors can also only have points in certain skills so even with relics you need a very god talisman to get better sets than you can create with normal pieces. The armors are overall much better balanced than the weapons. In most cases the relic weapons just over power the craftable weapons so badly that if you can get a couple of good ones you could pretty much just sell all of your regular weapons because you will never need them anymore.

I got in a hunt like this once. Except it wasn't as easy as this was. He was using a sleep element as well and it went as expected with the Brachydios. Only, this one actually became more resistant to sleep as the hunt went on to the point where the hacker could barely get it to sleep. We still won of course. And he actually carted once. My entire reaction was just, "This is so cheap." I like to earn my hunts, not have it given to me on a golden platter.
I would have simply kicked him. I have zero tolerance for cheaters. If your going to cheat your way up in Monster Hunter, then what is the point of even playing? The game is about grinding and improving your skills over the course of long and hard won challenges. it's about overcoming beasts you couldn't beat before. it's about that moment of excitement when you see that rare drop in the rewards box. That's what attracted me to the series and many others. If you're going to be lazy and simply hack past the challenge, then you have no place playing the game at all...
ik this is old but I agree so much... im 18...and I play MH4U....and I'm Crown rank....like 400 something.... I hunted my way up the food chain and all the fails and retries...and to go online and see an hr 5 have on the whole Goma set....I bust my ass for that set...and you just cheated your way to get it.....its dumb and a waste of a game....this game is meant for you to learn and gather materials to better your hunter.....if you gonna cheat...play the old MH....no one really plays that now...no one cares that you cheated to get your set (speaking in general)... custom quest are ok...like to get very rare items...like leg elder gems and etc...then ok...and just that...not armor...or weapons.... I hope there's no easy way in MHX....
Anthony Pineda maybe a little late (like 10 months but still I have a hr465 char (with full ukanlos armor/female that's something that gets important) and I started a new char(male) he is now jr4 and walks around with full ukanlos armor (ask a friend and he used cq) I just don't have the time to farm all that stuff again and I really don't see why I should farm all again just to have a few fun hours
Skolas, Kell of Kells , Gaijiin hunter has a post you should read. Should be easy to find through a Google search of something like "gaijiin hunter CQ post". So long as you don't de the gear online I suppose, but using it online just isn't fair to players who actually worked for their gear. A big chunk of the series is the tradition of farming.
Anthony Pineda I don't care if it's fair or not I have 2 g-rank ukanlos sets on my other character (blade and gunner) so I done the farm 2 times and I don't see the need of doing it a 3 time just to have the fun with the armor
+partyprash well if I'm not wrong there is a bug in the game that if you use hacked items after hr 200 I belive the game will crash and delite your save file, at least thats how it is in MH4U I do belive that they might lower that to hr 100 or so in Cross
Florian Stieglmeier Okay, because I know people who have been in hacked hunts and they got there game file's reset, though thy did not know the hunts where hacked world eather monsters untill the start of the quest.
That was their fault then. If you aren't dumb and know how to safe a game or turn your 3ds off before saving then you deserve to get your game files reset. You must be really dumb for that to happen or your game fucked up. Custom quests and items are totally save if you handle your game like you should. The people you know would have erased their game file without custom quests because they fucked up.
Florian Stieglmeier I think the true people who fuck up are thouse who are so lacy that they need to hack a game just to clear it, they are the true boring and insane people, though if thats what they want then I wount stop them from playing game's like that. I use CQ's,but not for cheating,i create funny cq's,balanced cq's or even cq's that u need to kill 4 apex rajangs lv 140 ,2 in the same area,and the other 2 appears when u kill the other 2 apex rajang.
That's just.. boring. It removes all the fun out of the hunt for most hunters. This reminds me of why people don't like Custom Quests because you can abuse them. Custom Quests can be really fun and add a extra layer of fun to the game; I made a Custom Quest to hunt down a Gore and Shagura simultaneously, called it "Ying and Yang"

Tri Rain I made custom quests for fun too, the one I'm most proud of is a 20 Baby Rajang Hunt-a-Thon for rare items and even then only did that in private with my friends. I used OP weapons/armour for revenge on assholes like Rajang but again, only in private. This guy though.. sheesh.
I hacked, but not in a way like this, i just didn't feel like doing like 30 teostra for one gem. And if im not a high enough rank to usually get that weapon, i don't use it at all. I just have to farm so much usually, and i said, screw it, i cant take farming anymore.
Yesterday I found a hacker and he gifted me a lot of money, weapons and materials to craft a good set after he watched me struggle but ultimately beat Teostra, it just hit me that this franchise horribly extends playtime by forcing you to grind your time away like a fool for a single weapon or armor piece, when you should be able to get at least enough for several crafts in each kill, I now have a fatalis set, alongside the seregios set+weapons I got by killing that thing on my own like 40 times, now fully upgraded thanks to that kind stranger. Was pretty dope actually, I'm now looking into how to hack myself, maybe give some leg up to people to not waste as much time doing menial bullshit for rare pixels on a screen.

My biggest problem with 4U was how many moons were running around with endgame gear, not knowing how to even play, whining about how hard the game was and that they needed the gear to progress. I've never run into a hacker. I only play with friends. Even when we accept a newbie into our group I always have lowbie weapons to use so that even with my experience as a hunter, I'm not completely destroying the challenge for them. Besides, it's always fun to see the reactions that newbies have when fighting a monster for the first time. Kind of makes me miss my days as a newbie back in MHFU and Tri(Wii). The "Oh shit!" feeling is the most fun part of any game.
+Doug Gleed cuz G ranked people keep going into the low and high ranks letting other's leech. It's really annoying... Met an HR7 yesterday who had 6 defense... I didn't check his gear untill after the match. Noticed durring match rathian OHKOed him 2 times, then he stayed at camp. I'm so fucking sick of G rank's going back into low and high rank... People who don't know a damn thing about the game making it to G rank now...

Doug Gleed Oh lord, let me tell you what happened a few hours ago... I joined a room for G3 urgent. The host had posted his urgent so i joined it. Round 1, He carts 2x, I cart 1x( was distracted cuz i felt like he was gonna lose it for us). We rematched it for a round 2 and he carts at the beginning... carts midway through... and carts right as we were finishing Gogmazios off... the music had already changed and everything and the dragonator was ready... After that defeat we all talk shit about the host and he begs us to help him( literally, i expected to get kicked but i guess most people leave after playing with him). For the third time he posted his urgent... and then I posted mine. The other 2 joined my urgent and I typed "Hurry b4 he joins!" and boom.. we we're off for round 3. Round 3 was a complete victory with no deaths, ran by 3 people. I hate how these leeches really think we are going to waste our own money and resources on their pathetic asses.

97galahad just make sure you get equipment that correspond with your current rank, I'd recommend getting equipment from the first couple of online quests in that rank and levelling them up continually or targeting monsters whose parts you need to upgrade your weapons
funny he didnt put on evasion+3 and evade extender as well, with hacking you can make every slot a complete skill, or manipulate the skills the armor gives as a whole

I only used a CQ once it was to get a zenith wyvern gem I got one legit I needed another to hone my vulca vendetta I got the vulca vendetta legit as well but the point is it just wouldn't drop so I made a CQ that gave it as a reward but I made it so you have to fight a G-RANK teostra

It was amusing to watch the hacker make it sleep multiple times, but where's the fun in that?
I ran into a hacker with a custom quest named "Jurassic World: The Game." It was a great jaggi surrounded by 50 velocipreys. We had to kill them all, and in the end the last two preys wouldn't spawn. Then he did a quest named "Zamtrios Tribe" or something like it, and it was a quest involving about 8 Zamtrios. We kicked him when we saw that.
+Kidd_Kudu sleep gives a x3 damage mutiplier for the strike that wakes the monster. and blast was nerfed so badly from slime on 3u that i dont use it at all. para is good though
+Levi Asmodan wrong... the first hit that wakes it (or if it awakes by itself, wich happens if u hang around too much) does 2x dmg and in case of ANY bomb (ranging from barrel bomb s to large bomb+) it does 3x dmg

I never liked the idea of hacking THE GAMEPLAY in these kinds of games. Since the Wii days, i have been aware of the pressence of hackers and got to try it myself, but the most i ever did was to make the grinding easier when i lost my save file on my Wii, like infinite cash or not needing materials, just to speed up the way back into the game, which i know it's still not playing as the game wants me to do but i wanted to catch up with my friends who were way ahead of me. But i kept a certain line of never touching actual stats on my character or the monsters because i want to actually play the game, if i'm speeding up the grind is because i wanted to play the game with as much creativity as possible and not worrying about lacking a certain material for a weapon or something.
I'm sure «Time» was just a no-skilled 9 y-o raging kid too lazy to learn... what's the point of playing MH if there's no challenge or learning process ??
i have 2 mh4u files at roughly the same area in the game, 150+ hours for each, and the same hunter rank, g bronze, hunter rank 80. however one is "hacked" i have mounting master and sharpness +1 on a talisman with 3 slots. its not gamebreaking or ruining the experience, its just convenient. it doesnt take away from the core of the game it just lets you experiment with more unique and fun sets. every "hacker" isn't bad, if you play mh long enough it will get boring, and "hacking" lets it be more fun, as you can get unreleased quests and equipment, as well as more fun additions to the sets you already have, so don't judge every body just cause they hacked, but if it's some 12 year old scrub using his brothers powersaves to be hunter rank 999 than yeah, boot his ass.
also the hacker is shit, the way hes hunting does ruin the game, my point is that all "hackers" aren't the same, i just have a few fun skills and sets on my backup, but that shit is ridiculous, theres no challenge, no hunt, its just boring
What's really funny is there are legit charms in the game that can make mixed sets that deal more damage than hacked sets with illegal charms. this is sad. this is what we call a young child that can't do well at this game so needs to hack. And I know this because I have been playing MH since PS2 and at that time I was 21 years old and most around me can't even get the hang of this game. a smart adult gives up and trades it in for a game he/she does enjoy. in the end parents and relatives need to stop meeting children's wishes and going out buying these games without looking into the game for themself. I worked for Gamestop as a assistant store manager and there is a reason why these games are rated. people are seriously dumb.

Bored Hunter Oh I know they are easy but you are talking to a first time player. Never played or saw the games before and then on the limited 3DS in terms of movement cause not everyone can buy that shiny pro pad for it. That and I am a extreme noob and have to get the hang of the game overall xD

I have a legit account that is hr999 with well over 1000 hours of playtime. And i had a downloaded copy. Literally got so bored cause i just about completed the damn game i decided to go and buy a cartridge edition of the game and started a new game using a powersave to see how it was. Its definitely interesting. But in all honesty the only thing i see it being good for is to spawn items into the game. If you dont have any play time in the game even with good gear you can still get your ass whooped. Oh yea also powersaves have like 0 chance of fucking up your game lol. My game did actually delete its data once though. But the powersave had a backup system and i just backed it up lol. If you're bored its a fun little thing to mess around with. But kind of a hassle to have to turn your game off plug in the damn cartridge and manually select codes every damn time.

You should use cera cymmetry for more damage 2.It's ok to hack if you really need it(it's ok to ME-not everybody else), or you like to mess around(and possibly get the game corrupted) 3.Think of me as a scumbag who likes hacking, but you're wrong. I'm 12 and I don't even know how to powersave or hack and I always played legitimately(have 6 teo gems... I swear those are legitimate I just got very lucky) 4.Why you take just full teo armor and not a bai bai kaiser or mixed set? Unless you're one of those people who like full sets of armor. Sry if my english is bad-I can't tell

+matthew vang What do you mean "if you really need it"? No one "needs" to hack. If you can't get past a monster, practice until you can. Hacks are for lazy people who don't want to do any real work. And for people who like to play legitimately, nothing is more annoying than finally getting a group together online just to find out that someone is hacking.
Depending on the hack, it would take, at most, a day to set up. Compare that to the weeks or months of playing required to get HR999, not to mention the skill of beating harder monsters solo and building their equipment, and yes, it makes them lazy.

I would love to hack in a powerful weapon. Not to use online, not to use as my normal weapon, but to get revenge on Rajang for all those times he caught me off guard! Also, not going to lie, felt good seeing Teostra get its ass handed to it.
That was painfully long.... If you're going to be a hacker at least be a good one. Why not get paralysis? Sleep seems a little redundant. I will play a few quest with hackers (especially if it's a hard quest and I really need something from that monster) but after a while I have to get out. It takes the "challenge" out of it.
Some guy had a dual blades like that while i was doing the yukimo springs 3rd episodic quest with 4 players. I found the hacker and revealed him. he left after he found out I caught him in the act while everyone else was saying "What the hell just happened?" Hackers make things boring by making fights that easy.
Big Moistshit Tell that to Gajin Hunter, where you can learn that is an effective way to do that. Also, no weapon has a sleep stat that high. And on top of that, we were just whacking away at the seregios as every time it woke up, it went right back to sleep, WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT HACKING!!!!! A sleep stat of 17 thousand something...
I met a guy who ran something similar, but instead of sleep, had paralysis. He just stunned the monster every second it came unstunned, and we just farmed monsters.
Speaking of which, I am also seeing a lot of very obnoxious quests as well. Such as that one time that it says we are going to fight 5 large monsters at the Great Sea. GREAT SEA?! WHAAAAAAAT?! In my mind I said that this quest was "too good to be true". Well I did not risked it, of course. Still, Capcom should address these kinds of things... or things will never be the same again. O.o

I have had to do so myself because there servers keept kicking me of from multiplayer, (as a result I'm a solo act) but I could still use multiplayer for my other game's but not on MH4U. and after speaking with them the problem got taken care of and now I have almost no problems when being in a guild hall online.
im a longtime monster hunter fan. since "monster hunter" on the psp. not saying that the game is not fun, but sometimes that fun is not there when you can bash a rajang, nargacuga, etc. around. and that is solo. this is me, when i get bored of a game, i hack it; play for another week or so; then i permanently stop. If you are asking how fast it takes to kill a monster with slim hack. approximately 8 minutes and less depending on the monster and your skill. For crimson fatalis, it will take about 12 minutes b/c its resistance to slim is very high. keep in mind this is all solo. when in a team of 3, which i only have the chance to try with, it is a guarantee 3 minute or less on any monsters. but if you have para, slim, slim, then it is always under 2 minutes or less. Apex or not.
Where I ask of you is the challenge? I don't care if I get carted twice, still leaves me with one more chance to enjoy the hunt. This is just wrong on so many levels.
Why are you saying he's bad? When you know the monster is going to sleep the entire time, you are obviously not going to care whether you make a mistake or not.
Commenting on this more than a year later, but I don't see any real problem with hackers unless they either brag about how far they are or they don't even put their hacked items to good use and cause you to fail a hunt, because at least in this game you'll still be rewarded for the quest instead of it being competative where you have to fight against a hacker. To be honest, I have hacked my copies of 3 and 4 Ultimate only because I used the Dual Blades and Insert Glaive, which caused people to judge/bully me for my armor sets and weapon choices. It would be where they're say "that weapon won't help us beat this monster" or "your armor isn't tough enough to face this monster, you should sit this one out or upgrade to this set". The pressure was unbearable for me, so I would hack charms, armor gems, and jewles in my game as well as a few basic items so that I could always be over prepared for a hunt and have tbe best defense for my armkr sets. It wasn't until the rider armor DLC, I think, from 4 Ultimate that I realized the downsides to hacking. I cloned a bunch of tickets for the set and I realized that it didn't feel satisfying to have at all. I never put in the effort, I never struggled for 20-45 minutes trying hunt a monster, I didn't have the satisfaction of killing/capturing it all on my own. I just killed it once and cloned the reward tickets. To those of you who feel like a burden to other hunters, don't listen to their forceful suggestions. If you're confident enough that you think that you can beat a quest, go do it. If not, prepare yourself by doing other quests and finding ways to upgrade your set. If someone keeps you from doing a quest and tells you to change your set, even when you're confident enough that you can complete the quest with that set, leave the group. Don't let serious hunters ruin the game for you.

I love MH for the fights, they feel, for lack of a better term, "real" (to an extent) meaning that while they have awesome attacks and patterns one has to get used to; and I love that but this isn't sporting at all. I go into every hunt knowing I could just as well get my arse handed to me, which means I need to get better. Whatever this is... This isn't hunting and nor is it fun. Quite frankly I'm feeling rather insulted as a member of the audience.
I’m three years late but I totally agree. I hated hacked so much. They kept whining about how they ‘needed’ the gear because he game was too hard. Yet, 4U was my first one and I was a noob, but come several months or so later and there’s me, with no hacks, completing the Masters Test at the end of the offline g rank. That felt like a true accomplishment.
This just reinforces the notion that hackers are hella bad, so they need to hack to play the game. Notice how the hacker keeps waking up teo with shitty cb moves instead of letting the gs lv3 charge it. And yet with 28k sleep weapon still can't keep teo sleeplocked lol.
I know i've hacked a reload +2 and a recoil +1 talismen, but never have I hacked my armor/weapons. Most of the time ill just kick them out of the lobby after saying "HR X with (Whatever g rank gear) armor? Seems legit"
I have met a hacker b4 he had dual blades with 10 thousand + paralysis and we were hunting a gore magala about to turn in to a shaguru magala and i asked him were did u get those dual blades and he said he was grinding for ages to get them but it was dodgey. The hunt took like 5 mins to complete after coz of the hacker
i understand hax like homebrew where u can bullshit ur element or status attack, quests, game progress or whatnot, but i feel like powersave shouldn't get as much hate because the cheats on there don't (break) the game with the 1240000000 para or sleep attack or max skill talismans, i mean if powersave was really illegal and stuff, why is it even buyable then, and there's limited cheats. i've also met nice hackers online, and i find it annoying when people assume others are dicks just because they have higher rank items. plus there's going to be people who make cheats for games regardless

It's just that when the system to get the best gear is completely based on rng most people will never get as good gear as others. Craftable weapons can be crafted by anyone and everyone has the same chance to obtain those weapons. The relics were like a gift to the people who edit save files too. Like you can just make yourself a weapon with a ton of raw with huge element/status and purple sharpness or white that goes to purple with sharpness +1 and also make it have 3 slots and the possibility to equip uncraftable jewels like edgemaster jewels or readiness jewels or something. No one will probably ever get a weapon that good even if they played a couple thousand hours but it's still not cheating because in theory it is possible to get that weapon...
+Otsisossi I mean, I've hunted over 25 Raging Brachy's with multiple breaks and most tails and have all of 3 immortal reactors to show for it (2 of which I immediately used). The RNG has always been shit, and to complain about it over something that goes directly to weapon makes less sense to me than complaining over drops on a monster that -completely determine- if you can even consider making a certain armor set or weapon.
And I want to emphasize, Relic Weapons are NOT better than the best crafted variants. They usually just gave a small difference in some way. Hell, gunners don't even really have a solid reason to consider relics, since the best LBG and HBG are _definitively_ not relics. IG is up in the air (The blast on relics gets nowhere near the blast on Hellruin Glaive Omen or even Dalamadur's glaive combinations), but the colors on Leumundslist are pretty awesome.
And if we're gonna go after unfair, it's really the armor. A legitimate full relic set can somewhat reasonaby obtain Honed Blade, Challenger+2, Steady Hand, and a last relic armor skill of some sort, as long as you have a good talisman, and at no cost to their armor levels.

No, because that has never happened and will not ever happen. With relics we are on a whole other level though. Theres loads of people who have grinded guild quests hundreds upon hundreds of times but havent gotten a single good relic. Maybe you hunted 25 raging brachydios to get 3 reactors but thats pretty much nothing compared to like 600 rajangs and 0 exceptionally good relics. Sure the relics would be good IF they were just variants for some kinds of weapons that dont exist in the game. But when theres people with greatsworda with 1600+ raw, 3 slots, purple sharpness and a ridiculous amount of status/element it is pretty ridiculous. And for that kind of weapons you need extremely good luck or you need to cheat. The whole relic weapon system mostly just rewards cheaters. Just like one guy previously said on this thread, most people have to resort to custom quests etc to get good relics. The gunner weapons are of course a exception but the blademaster weapons that most people use can be very op with relics. I dont mind the armors so much since you can only have points in one skill per piece and it's way more pleasant to hunt for an armor piece than a weapon. Only things people tend to care on the armors is the skill and some poeple want to gwt a nice skin but that isnt too hard either. Most people dont really care for the defensive stats of relics but even the best ones dont exceed the craftable sets too much. Also since the regular armor pieces in mh4u have a more slots than in the previous games and with relics you lose the slots. Relic armors can also only have points in certain skills so even with relics you need a very god talisman to get better sets than you can create with normal pieces. The armors are overall much better balanced than the weapons. In most cases the relic weapons just over power the craftable weapons so badly that if you can get a couple of good ones you could pretty much just sell all of your regular weapons because you will never need them anymore.

I got in a hunt like this once. Except it wasn't as easy as this was. He was using a sleep element as well and it went as expected with the Brachydios. Only, this one actually became more resistant to sleep as the hunt went on to the point where the hacker could barely get it to sleep. We still won of course. And he actually carted once. My entire reaction was just, "This is so cheap."

I would have simply kicked him. I have zero tolerance for cheaters. If your going to cheat your way up in Monster Hunter, then what is the point of even playing? The game is about grinding and improving your skills over the course of long and hard won challenges. it's about overcoming beasts you couldn't beat before. it's about that moment of excitement when you see that rare drop in the rewards box. That's what attracted me to the series and many others. If you're going to be lazy and simply hack past the challenge, then you have no place playing the game at all...
ik this is old but I agree so much... im 18...and I play MH4U....and I'm Crown rank....like 400 something.... I hunted my way up the food chain and all the fails and retries...and to go online and see an hr 5 have on the whole Goma set....I bust my ass for that set...and you just cheated your way to get it.....its dumb and a waste of a game....this game is meant for you to learn and gather materials to better your hunter.....if you gonna cheat...play the old MH....no one really plays that now...no one cares that you cheated to get your set (speaking in general)... custom quest are ok...like to get very rare items...like leg elder gems and etc...then ok...and just that...not armor...or weapons.... I hope there's no easy way in MHX....

Anthony Pineda maybe a little late (like 10 months but still I have a hr465 char (with full ukanlos armor/female that's something that gets important) and I started a new char(male) he is now jr4 and walks around with full ukanlos armor (ask a friend and he used cq) I just don't have the time to farm all that stuff again and I really don't see why I should farm all again just to have a few fun hours
Skolas, Kell of Kells , Gaijiin hunter has a post you should read. Should be easy to find through a Google search of something like "gaijiin hunter CQ post". So long as you don't de the gear online I suppose, but using it online just isn't fair to players who actually worked for their gear. A big chunk of the series is the tradition of farming.

That was their fault then. If you aren't dumb and know how to safe a game or turn your 3ds off before saving then you deserve to get your game files reset. You must be really dumb for that to happen or your game fucked up. Custom quests and items are totally save if you handle your game like you should. The people you know would have erased their game file without custom quests because they fucked up.

That's just.. boring. It removes all the fun out of the hunt for most hunters. This reminds me of why people don't like Custom Quests because you can abuse them. Custom Quests can be really fun and add a extra layer of fun to the game; I made a Custom Quest to hunt down a Gore and Shagura simultaneously, called it "Ying and Yang"

Tri Rain I made custom quests for fun too, the one I'm most proud of is a 20 Baby Rajang Hunt-a-Thon for rare items and even then only did that in private with my friends. I used OP weapons/armour for revenge on assholes like Rajang but again, only in private. This guy though.. sheesh.

What's funny to me is when you're playing with a hacker and they still 3-cart.
First time I felt bad for the monster.
I hacked, but not in a way like this, i just didn't feel like doing like 30 teostra for one gem. And if im not a high enough rank to usually get that weapon, i don't use it at all. I just have to farm so much usually, and i said, screw it, i cant take farming anymore.
Yesterday I found a hacker and he gifted me a lot of money, weapons and materials to craft a good set after he watched me struggle but ultimately beat Teostra, it just hit me that this franchise horribly extends playtime by forcing you to grind your time away like a fool for a single weapon or armor piece, when you should be able to get at least enough for several crafts in each kill, I now have a fatalis set, alongside the seregios set+weapons I got by killing that thing on my own like 40 times, now fully upgraded thanks to that kind stranger.
Was pretty dope actually, I'm now looking into how to hack myself, maybe give some leg up to people to not waste as much time doing menial bullshit for rare pixels on a screen.

I've never run into a hacker. I only play with friends. Even when we accept a newbie into our group I always have lowbie weapons to use so that even with my experience as a hunter, I'm not completely destroying the challenge for them. Besides, it's always fun to see the reactions that newbies have when fighting a monster for the first time. Kind of makes me miss my days as a newbie back in MHFU and Tri(Wii). The "Oh shit!" feeling is the most fun part of any game.

Doug Gleed Oh lord, let me tell you what happened a few hours ago... I joined a room for G3 urgent. The host had posted his urgent so i joined it. Round 1, He carts 2x, I cart 1x( was distracted cuz i felt like he was gonna lose it for us). We rematched it for a round 2 and he carts at the beginning... carts midway through... and carts right as we were finishing Gogmazios off... the music had already changed and everything and the dragonator was ready... After that defeat we all talk shit about the host and he begs us to help him( literally, i expected to get kicked but i guess most people leave after playing with him). For the third time he posted his urgent... and then I posted mine. The other 2 joined my urgent and I typed "Hurry b4 he joins!" and boom.. we we're off for round 3. Round 3 was a complete victory with no deaths, ran by 3 people. I hate how these leeches really think we are going to waste our own money and resources on their pathetic asses.

97galahad just make sure you get equipment that correspond with your current rank, I'd recommend getting equipment from the first couple of online quests in that rank and levelling them up continually or targeting monsters whose parts you need to upgrade your weapons

I ran into a hacker with a custom quest named "Jurassic World: The Game." It was a great jaggi surrounded by 50 velocipreys. We had to kill them all, and in the end the last two preys wouldn't spawn. Then he did a quest named "Zamtrios Tribe" or something like it, and it was a quest involving about 8 Zamtrios. We kicked him when we saw that.
It's called custom quests. And if anything those 8 Zamtrios would be easy :P

I never liked the idea of hacking THE GAMEPLAY in these kinds of games. Since the Wii days, i have been aware of the pressence of hackers and got to try it myself, but the most i ever did was to make the grinding easier when i lost my save file on my Wii, like infinite cash or not needing materials, just to speed up the way back into the game, which i know it's still not playing as the game wants me to do but i wanted to catch up with my friends who were way ahead of me.
But i kept a certain line of never touching actual stats on my character or the monsters because i want to actually play the game, if i'm speeding up the grind is because i wanted to play the game with as much creativity as possible and not worrying about lacking a certain material for a weapon or something.

i have 2 mh4u files at roughly the same area in the game, 150+ hours for each, and the same hunter rank, g bronze, hunter rank 80. however one is "hacked" i have mounting master and sharpness +1 on a talisman with 3 slots. its not gamebreaking or ruining the experience, its just convenient. it doesnt take away from the core of the game it just lets you experiment with more unique and fun sets. every "hacker" isn't bad, if you play mh long enough it will get boring, and "hacking" lets it be more fun, as you can get unreleased quests and equipment, as well as more fun additions to the sets you already have, so don't judge every body just cause they hacked, but if it's some 12 year old scrub using his brothers powersaves to be hunter rank 999 than yeah, boot his ass.
also the hacker is shit, the way hes hunting does ruin the game, my point is that all "hackers" aren't the same, i just have a few fun skills and sets on my backup, but that shit is ridiculous, theres no challenge, no hunt, its just boring

What's really funny is there are legit charms in the game that can make mixed sets that deal more damage than hacked sets with illegal charms. Case and point: Edgemaster 4 Expert 14 OOO, Tenderizer 6 Attack 14 OOO, and so on.

this is sad. this is what we call a young child that can't do well at this game so needs to hack. And I know this because I have been playing MH since PS2 and at that time I was 21 years old and most around me can't even get the hang of this game. a smart adult gives up and trades it in for a game he/she does enjoy. in the end parents and relatives need to stop meeting children's wishes and going out buying these games without looking into the game for themself. I have a legit account that is hr999 with well over 1000 hours of playtime. And i had a downloaded copy. Literally got so bored cause i just about completed the damn game i decided to go and buy a cartridge edition of the game and started a new game using a powersave to see how it was. Its definitely interesting. But in all honesty the only thing i see it being good for is to spawn items into the game. If you dont have any play time in the game even with good gear you can still get your ass whooped. Oh yea also powersaves have like 0 chance of fucking up your game lol. My game did actually delete its data once though. But the powersave had a backup system and i just backed it up lol. If you're bored its a fun little thing to mess around with. But kind of a hassle to have to turn your game off plug in the damn cartridge and manually select codes every damn time.

1. You should use cera cymmetry for more damage
2.It's ok to hack if you really need it(it's ok to ME-not everybody else), or you like to mess around(and possibly get the game corrupted)

I'm 12 and I don't even know how to powersave or hack and I always played legitimately(have 6 teo gems... I swear those are legitimate I just got very lucky)

And for people who like to play legitimately, nothing is more annoying than finally getting a group together online just to find out that someone is hacking.

Depending on the hack, it would take, at most, a day to set up. Compare that to the weeks or months of playing required to get HR999, not to mention the skill of beating harder monsters solo and building their equipment, and yes, it makes them lazy.

Hyper Silver Rathalos is pretty difficult. Partially because I solo everything and it has too much health.
That was painfully long.... If you're going to be a hacker at least be a good one. Why not get paralysis? Sleep seems a little redundant. I will play a few quest with hackers (especially if it's a hard quest and I really need something from that monster) but after a while I have to get out. It takes the "challenge" out of it.

I met a guy who ran something similar, but instead of sleep, had paralysis.
He just stunned the monster every second it came unstunned, and we just farmed monsters.
I've run into someone like that before, we killed a Ukanlos in less than three minutes because it couldn't move the entire time.

I recently played with a hacker who had 28870 paralysis. In a group of 4 people. We obliterated about 5 black diablos.

im a longtime monster hunter fan. since "monster hunter" on the psp. not saying that the game is not fun, but sometimes that fun is not there when you can bash a rajang, nargacuga, etc. around. and that is solo. this is me, when i get bored of a game, i hack it; play for another week or so; then i permanently stop. If you are asking how fast it takes to kill a monster with slim hack. approximately 8 minutes and less depending on the monster and your skill. For crimson fatalis, it will take about 12 minutes b/c its resistance to slim is very high. keep in mind this is all solo. when in a team of 3, which i only have the chance to try with, it is a guarantee 3 minute or less on any monsters. but if you have para, slim, slim, then it is always under 2 minutes or less. Apex or not.

Commenting on this more than a year later, but I don't see any real problem with hackers unless they either brag about how far they are or they don't even put their hacked items to good use and cause you to fail a hunt, because at least in this game you'll still be rewarded for the quest instead of it being competative where you have to fight against a hacker.
To be honest, I have hacked my copies of 3 and 4 Ultimate only because I used the Dual Blades and Insert Glaive, which caused people to judge/bully me for my armor sets and weapon choices. It would be where they're say "that weapon won't help us beat this monster" or "your armor isn't tough enough to face this monster, you should sit this one out or upgrade to this set". The pressure was unbearable for me, so I would hack charms, armor gems, and jewles in my game as well as a few basic items so that I could always be over prepared for a hunt and have tbe best defense for my armkr sets.
It wasn't until the rider armor DLC, I think, from 4 Ultimate that I realized the downsides to hacking. I cloned a bunch of tickets for the set and I realized that it didn't feel satisfying to have at all. I never put in the effort, I never struggled for 20-45 minutes trying hunt a monster, I didn't have the satisfaction of killing/capturing it all on my own. I just killed it once and cloned the reward tickets.
To those of you who feel like a burden to other hunters, don't listen to their forceful suggestions. If you're confident enough that you think that you can beat a quest, go do it. If not, prepare yourself by doing other quests and finding ways to upgrade your set. If someone keeps you from doing a quest and tells you to change your set, even when you're confident enough that you can complete the quest with that set, leave the group.
Don't let serious hunters ruin the game for you.

I have to admit that was painful to watch... I love MH for the fights, they feel, for lack of a better term, "real" (to an extent) meaning that while they have awesome attacks and patterns one has to get used to; and I love that but this isn't sporting at all. I go into every hunt knowing I could just as well get my arse handed to me, which means I need to get better.
Whatever this is... This isn't hunting and nor is it fun. Quite frankly I'm feeling rather insulted as a member of the audience.
I’m three years late but I totally agree. I hated hacked so much. They kept whining about how they ‘needed’ the gear because he game was too hard. Yet, 4U was my first one and I was a noob, but come several months or so later and there’s me, with no hacks, completing the Masters Test at the end of the offline g rank. That felt like a true accomplishment.
