Captain that was awesome. Thank you for the trip down to the port of Charleston, South Carolina. And a big thank you to Josh for letting us come along while he worked. Harbor Pilots kick ass. lol not to worry Capt Willy. No Tugs, No Moving vessels around. Be safe guy's. CUOTO 🤙✌
Thank you sir and thanks for watching as always 💯🫡🤙
I’m from South Carolina it’s awesome to see this from the shipping side of things
Hell yeah!! Me too! I’ll try and do some more ship stuff. Thanks for watching!
So awesome to find your channel! My boys and I love watching the ships from Remley’s Point. It would be cool to catch some video of you and your tug from the bridge!
Hey now! That would be cool! I’ll be riding another one with them soon
Now this is so cool! I knew it was a good idea to subscribe. Thanks for sharing this perspective. It's rarely seen in this way. Cheers!
Much appreciated and my pleasure 🫡
Always amazed at the pilot transfer to or from the ship. Balls of steel.
🤙
Fascinating stuff...especially steering the pointy part of the boat.
Much appreciated 🫡
Thanks Willy you went above and beyond Picking something up everyday Very interesting for a prairie guy 🇨🇦❤ 35:43
My pleasure! Thanks for watching 🤙
Great video. I was always curious about the Pilot's duties.

Awesome video really cool to see it happen from your point of view.
Much appreciated!
Tugboat Willy , thanks for sharing this! We had no idea the work that goes into moving these huge vessels in and out of ports by both tugboats and pilots. So very interesting !! I have a new healthy respect for Tugboats and their crews. 👏 !!!
Much appreciated!! There really is a lot that goes into it. Thanks again for watching 🤙
Not involved in the Maritime industry but enjoy your channel. This was one of your better video!
Much appreciated 🫡
Dude, this was a great vid! Thank you
My pleasure! Thank you!!
That was something. Never considered the pilot taking their own navigation gear. Makes sense though. Familiarity breeds confidence.
Thanks to all that facilitated this.
Their GPS gear is a system that uses a local base station to provide very, very accurate GPS correction data. Known in the GISS world as RTK (real-time kinematics)
Our pleasure 🤙 Thanks for watching!
good job! was an interesting change in perspective from the pilots viewpoint.
Much appreciated 🤙
That was awesome. 2 ships in the same video, and looking and listening to the bridge as Josh the pilot coordinates the harbour nav :) It was cool to see that his nav pad had a position predictor based on the rate of turn, speed etc.
Hell yeah! It was definitely fun going up there! Thanks for watching 🤙
Willy I thought your job was stressful but the pilots responsibility. Wow I would never have nerve enough to do that. I get stressed out just backing an 18 wheeler into a loading dock. Lol. Thanks so much for that eye opener.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!!
Great video. Thanks!!
Much appreciated 🫡
This is awesome!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
🤙
Drone shot and the map view makes this awesome!!! Great video!

Rhode Island saying great video Willy . Love the different aspects of what goes on to move a ship . Question 🙋 are the tugs in providence are the on shore power or a generator all the time , if a generator how often for a replacement .Thanks
Good morning Capt! I’m not sure but I will try and find out for you. Thanks for watching as always 🫡
Thank you!
You're welcome!
This was excellent for us young aspiring pilots to be 🤘🏽Def gave me a good idea of what happens up there (perspective is nuts). Now i know what all those sounds are that i hear over the radio 😆
Thanks for sharing!
Btw, I’ve def assisted that Ever Living here in Puget sound 🤙🏽
Cheers 🍻
Hell yeah! Do the damn thing! Thanks for watching 🫡
wow AAA++ fantastic
🤙🤙🤙
Dont be a rooster lollipop🤣🤣 New Merch drop "TUG LIFE"
🤣😂🤣
Do those yoga pants come with the job? #legday
Interesting, always wondered what a Pilot job was when he takes control of a ship.
🫡
Great video. It's nice that you were able to board the container ship and see how the pilot does his job on a container ship. Unfortunately, the wind picks up the microphones when it's windy.
Yeah I had to cut a bunch of stuff because of that. I’ll do better! Thanks for watching 🤙
@@tugboatwilly843 You are a good guy and you make good videos. Keep up the good work and greetings from Finland!!!!
I appreciate that! You’re a good gut yourself bro! Enjoy the day!
@@tugboatwilly843 thanks a lot 🙂
what is the green thing near the right
Hey @tugboatwilly why would they turn the boat so close to the dock? Can they not wait until they get further out to sea?
Hey now! Gotta turn where the water is. You definitely don’t want to go under a bridge backwards if you don’t have to. Thanks for watching! 🤙
I have a question about that channel pilot thing does every pilot have those things
Im not sure if they all have them but I will ask!
why the cop there?
Port police. Always a few of them there. I think that was actually the dock warden. Thanks for watching 🤙
Tug life. LOL.
🤣🤙🫡
Great one Cap. !! That pilot seems like a ton of fun and so glad you had a mic on him, sound was killer.
He is! Thanks for watching 🫡
