I don't mean I hate wild thing and steel force but I mean phantoms revenge is literally one of the best coasters in the world and is miles ahead of steel force
Dana was always a pleasure to talk to as well as his dad @ IAAPA. Neither one had primadonna attributes like some people. Glad to have Steel Eel close to me.
As a mexican coaster enthusiast, I can tell Súperman has one ejector moment before the mid course brakes (apart of the pre-lift section), and that is in the hill just before the second helix
Rode my first Motgan Hyper thos Summer, Mamba. For years the Morgan trains looked like the Magnum trains. What surprised me was how much larger and more comfortable the Morgan trains were.
Definitely agree. It's not Magnum level ejector, but it's strong floater and lots of it. I could see Steel Force being the best while Mamba was still trimming, but no trims makes that return run 100% better than Steel Force.
After West Coaster, I just rode my first real Morgan this summer in Superman El Ultimo Escape, and it was incredible. Better than most RMCs and B&M Hypers I've been on.
Cliche, but algorythm boosting happy Labour day to Chris and you other Americans across the pond. Also you know its going to be a good video when the pythogoreum theorum gets broken out. Its becoming the block zone of this channel.
My favorite moment was when he couldn't figure out how to apply the Pythagorean theorem to a spiral lift hill and everyone explained it in the comments.
I'd like to take this opportunity to state that Phantom's Revenge's official track length is quite inaccurate. It is significantly longer than 3200ft. I again just used google maps to trace the layout of Phantom's Revenge from first drop to the final brakes, and got approximately 2,940ft of prime ride track. And that's just following a flat line before you even take height difference on the hills into account. So the actual prime ride track could easily be over 3100ft, improving the pacing stat.
My first credit was a Hopkins coaster and for the longest time I thought it was a Morgan it was "Polar Coaster" at Storyland in Glen, New Hampshire. I knew it was a Hopkins before watching this video but for some reason I was confused on why it wasn't on the list. I also want to mention that when I think of the Morgan Roller Coasters, I remember all of them except Superman El Ultimo Escape for some reason.
I get them confused too--the track on Polar Coaster looks like it could be Morgan track, and it seems like the kind of oddball thing Morgan would do. But as a coaster manufacturer Hopkins is even more niche and off-the-wall.
Exactly, worlds of fun used to be my home park, and I’m going to valley fair on Saturday or Sunday. Is it Dorney park has steel force?? Maybe I need to go ride iron menace next year.
I feel like Morgan is often forgotten but at the end of the day Morgan basically started building "good" Arrows before Allan Schilke could work his magic with Tennessee Tornado.
Only been on steel eel but that seems to be one of the best ones. Smooth coaster at the wrong park in San Antonio though. Marathoning it on opening weekend at sea world this year made the day at a more obscure park
Great video Chris! I have a ton of bucket list coasters and both Steel Eel and Phantoms Revenge gotta be on my list. Morgan hyper coasters aren’t crazy yes but they are very rerideable and do provide good forces and airtime you gotta give them that!
I had no idea DH Morgan simply retired, I thought his company was taking a hit after building Steel Dragon 2000 (cuz it required like double materials to be earthquake proof) which forced his company to merge with Chance Rides.
This is all fine and good, but their best engineering feat was reconfiguring the arrow looper OTS restraints on Steel Phantom into the glorious side ratcheting lap bars that somehow leave more room than buzz bars, on Phantoms revenge.
Yeah steel force. The younger me would be proud. I used to love steel force. I hated when nitro stole it's thunder, but then i got on nitro and that all changed. But ive grown to appreciate Steel Force over more time.
I was a little surprised by Steel Dragon's prime ride time. I thought it might top 100 seconds of nonstop prime ride time and beat the Voyage. I guess Voyage still reigns in that department.
My first Morgan was Wild thing which I rode in its first or second year. I thought it was great- probably the tallest and fastest ride I had been on. The real problem seems to be they didn’t innovate much with their layouts and their rides got dated when Intamin and B&M really got into the hyper game.
Intamin, B&M, and others like Mack Rides represent the modern Hypers. But Morgan is certainly the best of the Classic Hypers - beating out the likes of Arrow and Togo.
A video that would be cool is the current Record Holders by the Numbers. So pick the most popular coaster records in the coaster community and compare the coasters thwt hold those records by their stats
I'm curious if you used a video for Steel Dragon 2000 with the original Morgan trains or the newer B&M trains? I don't know if it made any real impact on ride time.
@airtimethrills I was just wondering what are some parks and coasters i should visit and ride before i die and don’t say Carowinds, Every Disney World park, Universal Orlando/Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa, Dollywood, Six Flags Over Georgia or Lake Winnie (In case you’ve never heard of this park it’s in Rossville Georgia i recommended that you go there once) anyway i’ve already been to them
My international bucket list has Tokyo DisneySea, Phantasialand and Tivoli Gardens (Copenhagen). Did have PortAventura but I got over there this spring.
I was so surprised that wild thing (my first morgan coaster and the hyper at my home park) wasn't in bottom 5. I thought Airtime Trills your joking right?
Fun Vid. I'm a huge lover of Phantom's Revenge - the coaster that Morgan RMC'd before RMC came to be - I love that pop. I have always felt that Morgan Hyper would be an amazing name for a Rock Band or a Non-WWE Pro Wrestler working in the Indies or a lesser company like AEW. Morgan Hyper would be a sweet name for an action hero too like Vin Diesel or a Tom Cruise. It just flows.
Overrated better and smoother than steel phantom obviously, but not as smooth or forceful and intense as the B&Ms, other Morgans, and the most well known rmcs and intamins. The drop is good and there are a couple small airtime hills, but it is too short and a little jerky in certain spots. Plus the airtime hills are really small compared to the B&Ms, the other Morgans, the intamin hypers, and even the big and popular rmcs like steel vengeance.
I would actually rank it behind steel curtain and the three Woodies at Kennywood to put it fifth just ahead of sky rocket. And even that is a tough call because I like sky rocket and they are two completely different roller coaster rides and experiences.
@@TheBolligerMabillardLover While I do like curtain more than Phantom I feel like we rode a different Phantom, for its fast with Insane Ejector air you don't rely find elsewhere thanks to them being so small and its a speed machine with a 235ft drop and 85mph speed and the fastest in the state and I have yet to ride a coaster that tries to eject you out of your seat more than phantom dose
@@TheBolligerMabillardLoveryou must have ridden a completely different coaster. I’ve ridden it hundreds of times as it’s at my home park. The bottom of the second drop and the valley after the banked turn pack amazing positives, more forceful than any B&M hyper I’ve done. On a hot day, it’s grayout material. I’ve had rougher rides on B&M hypers as well. The small hills are used to its advantage, name a coaster that provides that grade of ejector with such a free restraint. As someone who’s ridden Steel Curtain since media day, I get the appeal and it’s purpose in the park. But it pales in comparison to the speed or intensity of Phantom. Ridden nearly 250 coasters and I have it at #9.
Steel Force has a ton of airtime I don't know what y'all are talking about. I'm from MD and have probably lapped Steel Force at least 15-20 times. I have gotten airtime on every single hill every single ride regardless of weather and temperature and whether the train is mostly empty or full. It obviously helps if you sit near or in the back but that is true of every steel force type of coaster. Now I would say it is more floater like B&M rather than ejector like RMC and intamin so maybe that is why many of you complain about no airtime but I prefer floater so I love steel force and mamba. They are my favorite Morgan coasters. I would love to get to Japan and ride steel dragon someday, the longest coaster in the world.
@@Posirep when I rode steel force the first half gave no airtime but the second half started with weak hills but ended with strong ones. I found the airtime a bit weaker than the B&M hypers.
i think its crazy how morgan goes from making coasters like wild thing and steel force to phantoms revenge
ik but they did a really good job with the rest of the layout in general and the restraints are really good@enzodiscoverymoonlight
steel force is so good and ive ridden el toro
I don't mean I hate wild thing and steel force but I mean phantoms revenge is literally one of the best coasters in the world and is miles ahead of steel force
I went to Worlds of Fun in April, and they turned the trim brakes off on Mamba. It actually had a ton of great floater! It was so much fun.

Rode my first Motgan Hyper thos Summer, Mamba. For years the Morgan trains looked like the Magnum trains. What surprised me was how much larger and more comfortable the Morgan trains were.
Mamba absolutely blows Steel Force away this year.
That return run without the midcourse brake is ridiculous.

It's cool that the current longest coaster of all time was made by them, that being Steel Dragon 2000.
Well the previous record holder was opened in 1964 so it’s not a record that gets broken regularly
Another great video! I’m excited for more content on the Norden trip

It would be very interesting to see a ByTheNumbers video for Alton Towers, considering how short all the rides have to be.
Morgan does have boring coasters, but I'm happy that it exists

The Pythagorean Theorem is back boyzzzz
and Google Maps of course.
Did you measure the lift hill drop /length on Phantom's as the main drop or first drop?
I feel like the pacing is off on that one.
Steel Force got new air gates this year. Operations really improved! Its always a riot when the blue train runs.
