- Raising pups is a family affair; it is natural for all the wolves to pitch in.
The yearlings will assist their parents in rearing their younger siblings by regurgitating food for them, playing with them, and even babysitting. Moreover, the parents will demonstrate critical parenting strategies and techniques for the yearlings to employ when they have pups of their own.
Passing down knowledge from one generation to the next also allows the family to maintain traditions unique to that pack.
Beyond being adorable and cuddly, this Mexican gray wolf family represents the Wolf Conservation Center's active participation in the effort to save this species from the brink of extinction.
The WCC, a 501c3 non-profit organization in South Salem, NY, is one of a network of facilities participating in the Mexican Wolf Species Survival Plan - a bi-national initiative whose primary purpose is to support the reestablishment of Mexican gray wolves in the wild through captive breeding, public education, and research.

I raised my little sister and I can confirm, as a big brother, that I was used as a pillow on a regular basis. She's 16 now and still does it 😂

Kind of reminds me of good times when me and my big sister, always good friends despite the age difference, would either wake up early to watch TV or stay up as late as we could.
Watching scary movies on VHS or watching the golden age of MTV and VH1.
I would be the wolf pup and sis would have to put up with me!
My big sister sadly passed away in 2018 at only 31... We also loved horror movies on VHS, played Donkey Kong Country and Tony Hawk on PlayStation. MTV was also a big thing for us. I miss her every day. The weirdest thing about this is to realize that somehow i am older now than my older sister. It's hard. Hope you have many more years with your big sister.

This is why it’s important for we humans when we bring our new puppies home that we give them extra cuddles and more importantly sleep with us. This is what they need to keep anxiety low and stable mental health. They’re used to sleeping with their siblings or parents.
My 11mth old Czech wolfdog puppy sleeps with me. He gets all the cuddles. 🐺
Even when you adopt, that dog still needs that comfort
And why I'm definitely for letting your dog have a choice to sleep in your bed with you if the dog wants as that's how they naturally sleep, together for warmth and safety.
It’s also why it’s important to have them socialize ALOT with other dogs.

They might be deadly predators but they have a beautiful relationship with their family. They look after each other

With many animals, the babies are extremely cute but the adults look a bit weird. With wolves, the pubs are rather unremarkable but the adults are so damn beautiful and majestic.

As an the oldest of my parents' offspring , I can confirm this. My little sister used to do that sort of thing to me till I left for college and she hit 8 yes old. She's now 29 and I'm 43 and she's like, "you're a goof ball but you're cool in an older brother kind of way!" They grow up so dang fast!
