- The best way to learn to sew is to do. I am a pattern maker by trade so I have developed a series around free sewing patterns that are based around entire looks that are broken into tasks that teach you new skills - like how to read sewing patterns, get comfortable sewing and little tricks of the trade to make sewing as easy as possible. As we progress we build on our skills as we go and everything you make should hopefully be something you actually want and will use - helping you retain what you learn.
Today is Episode 3 of my free beginner sewing series! We are building on skills we learnt in Episode 1 & 2. Todays task is more complicated than anything you will do in the next 'Look' but it builds on some really important things involved in the previous Tasks that are important to learn. Get through this dress and you'll be able to move through the rest really well. It may seem complicated or overwhelming so don't look at it as a whole - just concentrate on the part you're up to and finishing that well till we move to the next step!
