Have you seen when Jon Stewart interviewed Stephen Colbert when Al Sharpton didn't show up, or when Craig Ferguson interviewed his producer when his guest didn't show up? Those were also fantastic!!!
PS - Craig Ferguson's leaky roof episode is one of the best shows ever!!!!
PPS - Don't get me wrong, Conan is one of the best. His shows during the writer's strike are also up there!!!

You guys are setting the new standard for how a talk show in 2019 should adapt and flow. Just tell it like it is and fill in the blanks with whoever and have a good time.
He could do that because it's only a half hour now, not an hour long anymore. Also, "the show must go on!".

Guess what it was much better episode than with a regular celeb. Conan's employee are also as funny as him. I shouldn't be saying this but I hope this incident keeps on happening in future so that we can see more of his staff.

More words: Seriously, check out Conan's podcast. Hilarious, sometimes insightful, and full of the Sona goodness that we can't get enough of.
Conan have always carried his own show. A great guest like Goldblum or Olyphant can make it a lot better but it has always been entertaining without celebrity guests. We all enjoys his remotes. Because of how good he handled this, he made it look so easy to the point it made the no show seem trivial.
Even if Sona and Jordan couldn't make it, I bet he could choose an audience or multiple audiences and make it work just fine.

This reminds me of the writer's strike episodes. That was the Golden Age of Late Night. I miss it so much. The ring spin and all those segments/episodes were just pure comedy gold. The madness of it all. It was like a Coco circus. I feel old. 😭😭😭 Joe's, The Horny manatee, The Masturbating Bear, In The Year 2000, Triumph The Insult Comic Dog, etc. I love Andy and all but I liked the show more without em'. Plus those writer's strike episodes introduced us to the ever entertaining Jordan Schlansky. Why must time ruin everything? 😢

Oh my god I just realized how Sona ended up to be the guest in one of the clips I watched. This ought to be a disaster but yet Conan and his team handled it in a way so smart and funny that people will remember it forever. Conan is just god to me from now.

I started watching Conan during the writers strike. I lived in Africa back then so i didn't have access to his shows but managed to stay up late to watch them. I loved every episode they made during the strike. Conan is by far the best talk show host ever.

Conan is at his absolute best when things go off the rails and he has to make things up as he goes. Some of the best episodes were during the writers strike and this one is up there too.
I wish Hollywood would make new movies instead of remakes and sequels.

This was actually a win win for all involved. Conan is a real talent, so he did what talented people do and turned a bad situation into an opportunity. This show probably turned out better, and gotten more attention, than if Kumail actually showed up.
