This is the most comprehensive and complete tutorial I have ever seen on this method. Many years ago I attempted a pillow and it was not fun and I was very discouraged. I can see my errors clearly now and will be using up my tons of scraps for this quilt! Thank you!!!!

What a BEAUTIFUL Quilt! I always wanted to tackle a Cathedral Window, but as a "purist" (hand work) quilter, I just knew it would take e YEARS. Your quilt is done so precisely that I am certain my own grandmother would choose the machine instead of all that time doing hand stitches. And what a really lovely way to tie it, rather than add more stiffness with quilting the whole thing! I think I am ready to plan and execute my own Cathedral Window now. Thank You!

Many years ago i made the hand sewn style of cathedral windows. It had no batting, just layers of fabric, but it was self finishing as you went. It was very heavy, and it was very hard on my hands. Your quilt and tutorial are wonderful!

Well I think after watching this I might go from making a small throw to making a pillow! Just kidding. The organization of this is a little intimidating and the bulk and heaviness of it is worrisome but you make it look easy. It's such a beautiful quilt. You do ombre quilts so well. Thank you for the pattern and the video.

SUCH a wonderful heirloom to make here🎶🥰🧵💕. Your eye for color and fabrics is so spot-on, I was blessed indeed to get the quilt kit for this before you ran out….ALL these lovely fabrics singing together without one wrong note! I have since bought the Summer Scrappy quilt kit too to make for my son and daughter in law.
Not every Creative is a Good Teacher - thank you, Brittany for communicating the details so intentionally and without one thing forgotten. Blessings to you and Peter as you grow and develop - and CUT - more lovely things for us groupies to follow along with. Quilting is a great joy and you have made this so much fun. This is the 3rd quilt I have made from Lo&Behold. 🥰💕🧵🎶

This looks amazing to try. I’m wondering if the white window could be done in a cotton lawn or voile to reduce bulk? Looks like it’s probably 1/2 the weight of quilting cottons.

I am STILL making my cathedral quilt, years in the making.
I make about 8” white squares, sewing them into a box, turning them right side out, then joining them on the diagonal into a long strip.
I started out making this as a baby quilt, but as it was taking so long, it’s grown into a larger quilt piece. My center pieces have a pattern “in the round”, similar to crocheting a grannie square.
Unfortunately, my white fabrics aren’t all the same because I buy new fabrics as the quilt gets bigger, so some are slightly off white.
No, I’m not done yet … but pull it out every few months to get another row or two in, and make my curved windows.
I should say that my center square inserts are 2” square, and I am hand sewing the windows, which is why it’s taking me so long.
I really like the white square folded diagonally, and the squares being bigger.
    Thank you for the tutorial

Glue bast all those window curves then sew away no holding and can continue stitching down a long line one direction of one column the next column etc then turn whole section and stitch in one long row down the rows until done with a section. That is how it was done to make it faster back a decade ago.

Your quilt is just so beautiful. I have made only single cathedral blocks to use as Christmas ornaments. They were so fun to make and give away to friends or for an ornament exchange in my Quilting Group. Making them attached to each other seemed almost impossible to me. I’m still not sure after watching your video that I would be successfully complete such a huge task. Maybe a pillow, but even a smaller quilt - crib sized, would be hard to maneuver under my needle! This is such a great tutorial. I love how you broke it down into parts and methodically completed each section. This must have taken a great amount of time to video since it would have to be over a long period of time. Amazing work. Thank you for sharing this! Such a tremendous labor of love!
