Wild to see a solid front axle 4Runner. That was what stuck in my head the most

Haven’t been to a Overland Expo but we have the Sea Otter Bike Festival at Laguna Seca Raceway. Every year there are more and more Overlanding/camping rigs there.

I haven’t been and never wanted to go until I started camping with my JT crew. Now I’m looking forward to going to one.

Absolutely! Everyone should go to at least once. Just to be with that many like minded people with the same interest is great.

Agreed, it's nice to get out there and just enjoy your passion with people who share the same interests!

Our first event was Overland expo 2021 in Flagstaff. It was totally worth it as we spent a ton of money on stuff we needed and wanted for our new Off grid trailer expedition 2.0. Yeah we spent thousands but it is what we love. We have been to other expo events and I still love them but we are a little burned out now on all the events. Now we are focusing on actually traveling

Great video and information. Went last year for the first time to Overland Expo East 2021. Heading to Overland Expo East Columbus day weekend. On a budget, and I like the DIY budget mindset inspiration ideas from everyone's set ups. See you all out there.

Agreed, the DIY-inspired setups are honestly some of the best because they don't break the bank and they allow you to take pride in something you made! Have fun out there!

Something always comes up when an event comes to my area. And I'm not really into large crowds. But I dig all the cool vehicles and stuff! Thanks!

The classes at an Expo are good, especially for newcomers. I would advise those with more experience to invest in formal training rather than an Expo, to travel to smaller events a couple times a year, and spend the rest of their time and money on activities with friends or a local group.

My family and I have attended both Overland Expo West and East many times. It's like a kid in a candy store! A lot to see, be educated on, and talk to the professionals that build the items you are interested in. Last but not least, being with like minded people that become close friends. Anyone who likes to camp out of their auto should make an effort to attend one of the many venues that are offered.

My favorite part about those shows is just being there with the professionals like you were saying. You get to meet so many and ask a lot of questions you have been siting on for so long haha its awesome.

Give it some time and you will be there! At least you know its a yearly event so you can always plan ahead for the next one.

I’m taking my 3 trip to OXE in 2 weeks. For some reason it doesn’t get them same amount of vendor participation as the western expos do. I would love to see more trailer vendors.

Never been don't think i would ever go.. Backcountry exploring is what we been calling it forever over landing is just a new fad name.. Anyways the cheaper you keep it the more you get to go out the more expensive it is the more it's like your just trying to look kool.. With that said you do need a good and reliable rig and that's where the money should be.. I myself drive an old hummer with an even older m101a2 military trailer when needed but everything else comes from budget shopping everything is paid off no payments lettingus go out anytime we want.. You buy expensive shit and have payments on your rig it limits actually going out for the regular folks... just my 2 cents.

I attended the 2022 Mountain West Overland show. It seemed to me that it was somewhat clicky mostly Toyotas and jeeps and a lot of expensive shit. I had paid for the three day on-site camping ticket. If I were to do it again I would just spend a day there and the rest of my time and money can go to actual overlanding.
