My late partner had a pace maker fitted, it was so weird to feel it under his skin! Absolutely amazing idea ❤ Great video as always Be Amazed 😊
If the creator of plastic were to be alive today would his reaction be pleased or would he be horrified at the sight of what his invention does to our planet today?
Solid blocks of yummy chocolate were an accident. Many companies were trying to make a solid form of chocolate and eventually Lindt cracked it in the late 1870's by forgetting to turn a mixer of some kind off at the end of the day on Friday. On Monday the cocoa mix had changed and become smooth, shiny melted chocolate and the rest is history.
Cadbury Schweppes still use Coca extract in their popular beverage. They're the only company allowed to import it into the United States. They also use the Kola nut for flavour. The original Coca-Cola was green and, as it still is today, highly addictive. Personally, I prefer Pepsi's crispness as I think the other is too oily and syrupy sweet.
Way ahead of you there. 5 pinches of borax in a container (the cups with lids you get from dollar store cotton candy) approx 1\4 water, mix borax til mostly blended, add your best clear glue til half cup, let sit a minute then start mixing and stretching slime, will be sticky but dip in the water remaining til not sticking. Add optional petroleum jelly and choice of colors. With luck, you should be able to blow it up slowly the same way you would a latex glove, or bubblegum, but instead of using tongue to make the inflation pocket, use your thumb to push a spot to blow into.
HEY BE AMAZED. I just noticed how publicly active you are with your channel while in the comments conversing with others. I think that this is great and like you even more ❤
You didn't mention _why_ Alfred Nobel created the Nobel Peace Prize, which I think was just as worth hearing about as his original invention! Somehow, his death was falsely reported and when he read his obituary (how often does one get to write that sentence?), he was horrified to learn he was being touted as a "warmonger" and terrible person because of his invention of dynamite and its use in combat. Naturally, as a human with a conscience, he didn't want his legacy to be so evil and so he decided to use his fortune to establish the Nobel Peace Prize. Now most people remember the name Nobel and associate it with peace instead of war/dynamite.
21:13 the issue with believing chocolate chip cookies started in the dark ages/Grecian periods is that cacao(aka chocolate fruit) is only native to central and South America. Which was discovered by Columbus during the renaissance ish era
Speaking of accidents, I actually recall one memory from my childhood. One time, when I was in elementary school, I was on my way to my class after my dad dropped me off at school. When I walked into the classroom however, something unexpected happened. One student must've been trying to move a chair on their desk and probably lost their grip or something. Next thing I knew, the chair... you're not going to believe this, but... clobbered me. I'm not kidding. The chair landed right on top of my head, and I was in the fifth grade at the time, mind you. After I was brought to the nurse's office, it got better and fortunately, it wasn't a serious head injury. It's a good thing I had a hard head, otherwise I would've been int he hospital a long time ago.
I don’t know if it’s good or bad I knew the vast majority of these already. On the one hand, makes me somewhat informed. On the other hand, I learned a bunch of them from RUclips, so it just means I watch way too much of it
Great video!. One of Coca Cola's early uses was for hangovers. Many ER's still use super glue to hold together more minor cuts, it's great because it not only holds the skin together but keeps bacteria out.
The microwave was invented by accident in 1945 by engineer Percy Spencer. While testing a magnetron he noticed it melted a chocolate bar he had in his pocket.
I never knew the official story of Teflon. From what I heard it was actually a bunch of chemicals that had been dumped into a drum and we're in a room waiting with other drums to be disposed of and one of the drums leaked and that substance spread across the floor and dried into a thin sheet. When the workers came to move the barrels out they grabbed a hold of the first one and went to push it across the floor and it just slid like a rocket and they had to reverse analyze the substance. Well, that's the way I heard it.😂
2:18 Toxic forever chemicals that destroy life are definitely something we can live without. Are the editors ignorant of the harm these chemicals cause?
In most cases, if one inventor in history hadn't existed it wouldn't mean their inventions wouldn't happen. They'd just happen later and be made by other people. Otto Lilienthal was a world leader in glider design and well on the way to inventing the aeroplane when he died in an accident in 1896. The Wright brothers, inspired in part by Lilenthal's work invented the aeroplane a few years later. Invention is a race, if the leader falls, the runner in second place takes the prize instead.
Pacemakers are a god send! My mom had he first pacemaker placed when she was 25. Then, after she had my brother at age 30 a few months later, they had to make her pacemaker dependent by burning out her av node.
