Realize that we've been working on this non-stop for six months and JUST finished it early this morning. We made a master render, and now it's a matter of encoding, uploading, and prepping our website for the big announcement. Unfortunately, yes, some time zones may be in March 2 by the time we get it out, but as long as it's March 1 PST we'll consider ourselves as having made the deadline.
We showed an unfinished version, with a rough sound mix and a few seams showing. It went so fast on the big screen that we didn't think it mattered, but for RUclips and especially potential downloadable versions, every frame needs to be pristine.
I don't think it'll ever happen but I want to see an RVD3. The first one was so much more then flashy effects it was also fast paced & suspenseful. RVD2 was even better and it's rare that sequels can do that. Work hard on RVD3 but make it come out as soon as possible please guys it'll be the best of the trilogy
Ryan AND Michael, you're both my inspiration and this video is making it even more painful to wait for RvD2 to come out! I'm extremely excited for it. Without you guys I wouldn't have even started editing, you got me started on a path I shall follow forever now. I know you'll make this movie extremely good, but I think it may be hard to top the first one, he he. Thanks so much for, well, every movie you've made!
Just wanna say that I've been a fan of RvD since I first saw it on TFN a few years back, and have watched it tons of times and showed it to as many friends as possible. I'm very giddily excited to see that you guys are doing a second, and this preview just really puts a sizziling edge on the shining blade of why you guys are the greatest.
what i wouldn't do to work with these people, either in visual editing (with experience, of course), or the choreography. these guys are plain and simply AWESOME
Lets not forget that RvD2 Wouldn't be possible without Travis or the rest of the crew. Travis and the rest of you guys, even though I haven't even seen RvD2 yet, I salute you guys.

Hey guys, It's not going to be a midnight release (obviously). Probably more like sometime the afternoon/evening of March 1, PST. Got a little work left to do, and when you see it, it'll literally be just finished.
Actually, it took us about six months to make it, from shooting to now. If the saber fight you have in your profile consists of one camera angle, and it took you a week, then our saber fight, consisting of 203 shots, *would* take a little over 4 years to produce at your pace. So we're actually turning it around ahead of schedule.
Assume it will be up just before midnight PST. That's 7 and a half hours and the latest we expect to have it up. If it's up before then, everyone's happy.
Hey, thanks for the sneak peek! I loved RvD and loved too to be able to donate a bit for the production of the second film. Now I can't wait to see it! :-) You guys rock.
If you go back through the responses, I never said 2PM EST. I don't know where that came from. It'll be out before March 1 is over PST. That gives us another 12 hours. :-)
Absolutely amazing, guys. You guys should definitely start your own studio for this stuff. A shame to let all that talent go to waste. Hell, I'd love to be able to work with you guys. :D
Mess around with common household items. I managed to get my hands on a kodak flash tube, similar to the Graflex ones they used for Luke's first lightsaber. But try out bits of pipe, and faucet taps, etc.
I love it guys keep it up. Lucas dropped the ball when he didn't make a strictly jedi vs sith movie or TV show. I only wish someone gets you guys and others to start with that project. It would make so much money.
Deep Impressive, I can said RVD2 is the worlds No.1 who can play the LightSaber so goods. They make the impossible to possible. Not just only a show,Is Real.
cant wait to see it.. releases today if im not mistaken, o as to the red lightsaber staffs, they arnt painted that color, they are actually called training sabers.. yes they have them >.> its used to choreograph lightsaber duels.. u actually see them being used in the making of star wars movies, u can find em on ebay pretty cheap
well there kind of is staff. actors camera stage hand- Brandon Flyte extra cam. Brandon flyte. building owner and supervision. also helped with moving stuff
I totally agree with jackarmstrong, RVD2 is going to be so cool! Ryan and Michael, I'm sure in a few hours time(hope sooner) you are going to deliver a great result! Patience is the key... (I'll see it tomorrow, here in Greece it's March 2(!) but it doesn't matter, it's worth waiting...)

Guys, it's not just as easy as "Hey, lets make an RvD3!" There's a lot of thought, work, and money that has to be put into making something like this. And Ryan and Micheal want the 3rd one to be even better than this one. So if you ask me, they deserve all the time in the world to make an RvD3. (That doesn't mean I wouldn't like them to put it out right now though =P)

You guys should issue this on DVD with the original as a bonus track, plus this "sneak peak", too. Damn fine work! The only thing you could've improved is the sound FX on the physical punches and kicks. Otherwise it was pure Hollywood gold.
Just imagine two guys not from a galaxy far far away in a lightsaber duel, not all jedis live in that galaxy, it happens that some of 'em live here in your home planet.

The premiere version was a rough copy with a number of mistakes in it. We want the online version to have as few mistakes as possible.

If you visit Ryan's website, he's done some experimentation on including clones in videos. I believe the ending of RVD1 was paying homage to that.
