I had a weird dream after watching just a bit of that video, where Hainbach was playing that setup in the park, surrounded by trees. The music got darker and darker, as Hainbach said to the synth (as for himself) "and you go down to hell...". The forest around became pitch dark, trees became snow white and the sound got really loud and creepy. Then i woke up. Then i had to watch this full lenght... Merci pour les cauchemars @Hainbach ;)
@@Hainbach at least give a listen to Yamaoka's scores. I think you'll appreciate them. The specific track you were accidentally playing is called "White Noiz"!
This is beautiful, sounds exactly like Autumn should. I don't believe it would be possible to get a bad sound out of that setup. Thank you for the beautiful music.
Looks like a fun day you had enjoying nature. This is a beautiful production, so much more than a simple demo. Loved your creative use of lens flare & also the serendipitous fly. Thanks so much for sharing!
Wow I love the sound of that little guy. Amazing. I realize it’s both instruments together but I could that thing producing amazing results in many use cases. Cheers m8!
What an exceptional video......everything about it is a w e s o m e cool little slow mo bits, great framing, haunting sounds....I don't know anything about the Suiko, but it seems I like anything through a Microcosm (just waiting for mine to arrive......) great upload!
Lovely video, I really enjoyed watching the scenery while cloudy sounds floated through my headphones. Did get the Microcosm last Thursday and it quickly has turned into a favourite of mine. (Putting my GameBoy through it transforms it into something else entirely).
0:47 - Record those ducks swimming and then make them go HALF SPEED. Get some quality parabolic microphones and get the little monsters quacking and quarter speed that.
Beautiful, thanks for sharing your work. Hologram Electronics makes some truly innovative stuff. I place the Infinite Jets in the aux of my mixer and then into a mixer channel (thanks to your Sound Design Secrets).
Hi Hainbach, great content as usual, thank you! How are you using the SONY PCM-D100 recorder? I understand that this recorder doesn't have xlr inputs, but can you record a synth or connect to a sequencer using 3.5mm from the PCM-D100 to dual 1/4" or xlr to the electronic instrument/s? I am considering this unit over the Zoom H6, for not only recording ambient sounds, but to record electronic music directly into it. What are your thoughts? Thank you for you advice!
Hey Hainbach! Maybe you've explained it before in a different video, but what do you use for such a portable setup? More specifically: what do you use to get power to your non-battery-powered synths?
Luke from myVolts here. I made a quick video here which explains how a number of synths can be powered together with Ripcord and our Crazy Chain solution : ruclips.net/video/4N2B3JGqBPI/видео.html
Just found your channel after this video was recommended to me. What a submersive, relaxing session; Id love to see a tutorial on how you did it. Wunderbar mein freund; well done indeed. Also, look at that increbible building with what appears to be alchemical or some ilk of esoteric symbolism over the enteranceway at 5:43 😲 So you mind me asking where this is? Wow. Great job once again.
Love how the Microcosm can go from light and whimsical to heavy, deep and foreboding in an instant. I'm still kinda on the fence about the pedal though. You were right. A little over a year on and it's become ubiquitous, at least on the synth channels I sub to. Not saying it's a bad thing necessarily, and through your channel and others it has gotten out to a wider audience, but I do feel as an effects unit it's now over-used (or used out of context without the discipline to maybe think outside of the box). Still, I'm definitely interested in it as a processor for ambient sounds, so it'll stay on my radar for a while (adding the Meris Polymoon to the end of the signal chain too)
You do know that because of the Suiko video I am literally going even to the japanese Yahoo auctions site to try and find one? I really want one for my music making hahah
This is great. Absolutely love. Having said that....I would still love to see a more in depth tutorial from your perspective on the Microcosm. Tape loops (even if you say it hasn’t worked, maybe tapes made specifically to use with Microcosm), some Ciat Lombarde (I hope I spelled that right), test equipment, a sequence from the SE-02...I dunno. I have to get the Ripcord and new daisy chain wires so I can maybe take my SE-02 and Microcosm to the beach down the road (more of a boat docking area than a sandy beach...but it’s still peaceful by the water for some ambient creations). I’m still trying to wrap my head around it though..I’ve only had it a short time and never had one of these high end advanced pedals before...just basic guitar stomps.
Great video, thank you. I miss a reference to another device - Bastl Instruments Thyme. You own both, I love your Thyme movies. Both devices seem so similar, the midi implementation at a similar level. Working with Thyme appeals to me more. What are your feelings compared to both? What do you guys think?
Thyme is better for hardcore sound programming and sounds rougher. Microcosm is extremely lush and instantly satisfying. Thyme needs time to make it work. Really two different approaches and Sound .
The stereo sounds a bit like haas stereo effect rather than real stereo. I might be wrong though. Would be nice to see a mkII of this where they include true stereo path.
I wanted to buy the Microcosm but apparently there's no European distribution, only available as pre-order from States, but paying 100$ tax and 50$ for delivery is a bit much.

Ah! Das schöne Podsdam. Schöne Idee mit dem Sound zwischen den herbstlichen Blättern und dem Marmorpalais. Wunderbar :)
Absolutely mesmerizing Hainbach 🤘🏻 I agree at the ease of its use for quickly creating expansive soundscapes
Amazing combo!! Really appreciated your video work here too, it’s cool to see you vibe visually with the music. Epic shots!! 🤩

Mesmerising 😻
The deep notes have a really apocalyptic feeling.

Got the album today, it is wonderful, you have surpassed your usual high standards.
One of your best IMO
I love this album. Sooo good!

The "Mosaic" part recalls me a lot a piece by Daniel Lanois, "Sci Fi"!

Beautiful, like a Japanese ghost story interpreted by Brian Eno in Berlin. 🔊

I am really excited for Jamie Lidells programmer, which opens up the looping part a lot. Should make it more flexible for experiments.
You sold me on that pedal.
So amazing.
I had to check if the ant was walking on my TV or on your synth. (It was on your synth).
