  • We spent the last two month travelling and exploring cities and have been yearning to go back to island life so since we were in Cambodia it seemed a no brainer to visit the Koh Rong islands on a friend’s recommendation. We visit both islands and have fallen in love with them so much that what was initially a 3 day visit turned into a 3 week visit in total, you will see why ;-)

Cheers for the video and glad you enjoyed the island so much. Went to Koh Rong about 10 years ago and it was just on the verge of being developed more, there was hardly anything when me and my mates went! I remember that trek from the side you arrive at to the long white sand beach and there was nothing there other than a big hut for sitting in. I don't think there was any roads and we didn't see any bikes. But from what we were told I would have thought it would look ruined now, still looks beautiful!

I can imagine how it must have looked 10yrs ago. The island as it is now is still very beautiful and fairly unspoiled in certain areas, but in the time we were there I saw some development, really hope they don’t over develop and keep the charm of the island.

Please tell me you visited Koh Rong Sanloem south of Koh Rong. Visit either Lazy Beach or Sunset Beach and you'll forget about Koh Rong.

Hi, we're planning to visit Cambodia early next year and would like to visit one of the Koh Rong islands. Which one would you recommend? We don't like too secluded (we can get that in Australia) but not ultra touristy like Hawaii. We like tropical vibes, cultral experiences and good beaches and beach bars. Which island would you recommend?

Hi thanks for watching. We enjoyed both Koh Rong and KR Sanloem but the latter is more secluded, it sounds like you would enjoy Koh Rong more as there is a bit more to do and explore. Hope whatever you decide on you have a great time ;-)

Is accommodation easy to find ? Or is it better to book before arriving?

Hi, we booked just a few days online then decided to stay longer and spoke to people directly, there are definitely lots of options to stay there.
