Where do u find out what system u have such as a GTS or a standard system so that I can download the correct update cheers 👍
@@jaja8951 you used to be able to find it in the owners section of the Harley Davidson website but I haven’t been on there in awhile. There were pictures of each system on there.
When u go into the display of ur own bike is there not a section on the touch screen where it can tell u what u have? (GTS, standard etc) Thanks for the very quick reply 👍😀

All the updates should be over the air. I guess Harley hasn’t figured that out yet.
When I go to the H-D website I don’t see a tab on top that says “owner”….. has it moved to a new location? Thanks
I just checked it out. I haven't been on the website in awhile. If you go to the site and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page you will see "motorcycle services" and the "software update" tab is under that. I hope that helps!
When I plug in my iPhone via USB cable is it supposed to be charging my cell?
Yes it should charge your phone.
i have a 2018 and it will not update No playable media found what would be my next step

does this update cover GPS and dealer info or just general software?
This update only cover general software….to my knowledge.
I have a 2014 flhtki not sure why but my screen said No Playable Media Found. Not sure where I went wrong?

some cables are charge only cables. try another one. it may do the trick

Will this update the maps too? Was out the other day and there was a dealership and a hospital that was not on my maps and I know they were at least a few years old
No I don’t think it updates the maps. I have yet to figure out how to do that.
@@JerseyNickMoto I found it, there is no free map update. There is a poi update though and that’s supposed to help a lot

That's kinda cool, man. I had no idea that gas bikes could be computer updated. Can you adjust engine performance too, or is it just the display and app updates ?
The update is pretty much for the the Infotainment System which is Harley's fancy name for the stereo system and GPS. I do have a Screaming Eagle tuner on it that can be used to adjust the performance when I changed the pipes and the air cleaner but I leave that stuff up to the professionals.
@@JerseyNickMoto That is COOL. So, besides updating the computer add ons, you can computerize the mixture/firing/throttle all by a tech at a console ?
Yes with the tuner a tech can put the bike on a dyno and map out the correct tune to coincide with the aftermarket pipes and air cleaner and maximize performance.

I know, right? The only thing that sucks is you really can’t work on them yourself anymore. Too many computers!
I tried to update my radio, I have 2014 FLHTK, I followed the instructions a couple of times, and my radio in not updating....
I brought my bike to a local dealer, they did try to update my radio and still no luck...
Mynradio is not accepting the update?
Any idea why?
All the functions on the radio works except the mp3 I can't play my mp3 anymore...
USB cable is new...
Jr Remigio unfortunately a few people have reached out and asked me about the same problem. I’m not sure why that is happening. My first guess would have been the usb cable but I see you said it’s new. I wish I could be more help.
I took the bike at harley dealer, they said its the wires that where you plug-in the USB cable, its messed up, thats why its not accepting the update even with the new USB cable...
Their recommendation is to get a new stereo/radio.....

Glad you figured it out. That’s a little crazy that you have to get a whole new stereo just because the wires aren’t working! I guess that’s Harley for ya.
They wanna charge me 2200 for a new radio...NOPE..

There used to be a place to look it up in the owners section of the Harley website but I’m not sure if it’s still there.
will this also update the navigation?
I believe you have to update the navigation separately.
Did that update the gps, maps etc also?
39simpleman I am not 100% sure because I have not used my gps since I’ve done the update but I believe it is supposed to update everything.

I believe when you go on the Harley website they show the different systems and what the screen looks like. It should also say in your owners manual.

My dad and me are renting 2 to do route66. I’m trying to make sure both bikes have the same version and hoping the route I’m building will work over there...
Oh ok. I’m pretty sure when you go to the Harley website they show pictures of the screens so you can match up what system you have. However, I’m not sure if it is the same with the 2019’s.
And I don’t even know what bike we are getting other then they are Electra Glides.

Jeronimo Martin del Campo yes I believe you have to unzip it. I did not realize I left that part out. Good catch!
Im using mac so it should unzip automatically and when i connect my usb to the bike, it reads that its corrupt 🤦🏻♂️
The file downloads as zip and lands in the folder as iso when finished downloading.
A couple of other people have told me they are having the same problem. Not sure why it’s happening. I wish I could be more help. Good luck!

No. It’s a free download from the Harley Davidson website.
Hey.... I have a ‘18 CVO Road Glide, I go thru all the steps but it won’t let me click “yes” to start the update. Bike has 1.22.0.1 trying to update to 1.22.0.3. Tried regular 6.5CVO AND 6.5. Same result. Any ideas?
Did you format your usb drive to make sure it was empty before you downloaded the update?That may have something to do with it? I haven’t encountered this problem yet, wish I could be more help. Good luck.
Jersey Nick Moto tried 2 different drives , downloaded on my Mac, had my kid try one on his windows based PC. No luck.... stumped. Everything is just as your vid shows, but it won’t let me click yes. Thx for the quick reply. Yes we formatted both drives and erased.
No problem. Now I’m stumped too. Maybe something is going on with the downloads from the Harley site? I wonder if anyone else is having the same problem.

Where is that menu with OWNERS???
The last time I checked I think they moved it. Try going to the website and scrolling all the way down to the bottom of the page. Look for “motorcycle services “ and that should lead you to “software update “. Hope that helps.

It’s been awhile since I’ve updated mine again so the process might have changed. I hope the dealer figures it out for you.
