My first time commenting on one of your videos, really love your channel. I also look for the really obscure "oddball" stuff. D Parker was my favorite ballplayer growing up in the late 70's, never realized that his 1975 Topps card image was taken in 1973, the year before his rookie card was issued. I was big into the Hostess cakes cards, especially the red, white and blue bicentennial design from 76. Keep up the great work, hopefully, I get to meet you in person at an upcoming card show. I will be setting up in Strongsville this year.
Great share with Al Hrabosky and Dave Parker. As a kid home runs wete something special at a ball game. Who am i kidding even as adults they still are. Lol. Love the detail on the Parker sleeve with Clemente number. Enjoyed.
@@MrJmangini awesome! I just added his RC to my priority list. Can't believe I missed it! I think he is a Hall candidate and should've been there already
Unbelievable! You don’t realize how much I appreciate you doing this VR. I have so much respect for you and enjoy all of your content. Also, I’m glad you chose a Dave Parker home run because, as you already know, he grew up in the Cincinnati area. That’s also where I grew up. I used to love watching him play for the Reds and think he should’ve won the MVP in ‘85. Thanks again and have a great night!
I was at Yankee Stadium when the Cobra played for the A’s he hit one into the upper deck in right field. I was sitting in the middle of the upper deck that ball went like 8 rows pass me And I believe he was like late 30’s and still had some awesome power.
Kirk Gibson Detroit Tigers (WS) and Kirk Gibson Dodgers (WS) on TV. Being where no close teams are moving here, but I saw the M"S beat the Yankees in NY 2000 and cannot tell you if anyone homered. Topps always had super ancient photos on the cards. I just send AL Hrabosky TTM today!
Thanks for sharing, John. The Cobra went deep against the Mad Hungarian.
Very cool John! I love hearing the history behind the photography!😁
Every time you talk about Three Rivers Stadium memories I just go back to my childhood ! This channel is awesome!
Thanks!
Amazing story and collection. You really don't look old enough to remember these stories from the 30s. My favorite card channel!!!!!!!
Thank you!

The 76 Hostess is my favorite too. Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it.
The Mad Hungarian was a fun player to watch! What a great memory for you seeing The Cobra take him deep!

Great VR. I became a big fan of Parker once he went over to the Reds.

That’s right! I have multiple copies of just about every year. I just bought another 75 yesterday.
