In this video, I tried a popular hair experiment I saw here on RUclips: using Vaseline on my natural hair.
I wasn't expecting it to work but it did, somewhat.

Don’t listen to all these natural hair people. The same people who say grease weighs down hair will tell you to by all these “natural” custards, soufflés, gels to do what? Exactly? Weigh down your hair! “You need a product that will weigh down your hair and elongate your curls” but when it’s grease it’s bad. It’s just to keep us spending
Right! It's a scam. Hair grease has always worked. Madam C.J. Walker's hair grower had a petroleum jelly base.

I just love your beautiful healthy thick hair. It's nice to see textures 4b and 4c which are similar to my own texture on here trying these regimens and styles. Everyone doesn't have 3a, b, c textures. Remember shrinkage is a good thing. Thanks for sharing!

there is nothing wrong with grease looks great
Frizz is super cool as that is the nature of our African hair. And so are the curls cool too. The mix is WOW. So don't get rid of the fizz but work with it to get a wow African look.
BTW grease does NOT weigh down the hair at all when you use the RIGHT amount. It is when you use to much that it weighs down the hair just as liquid oil would do.
I am really digging the natural look.
