Andrew Sawyer have you heard other dispatchers there in Chicago? They do a good job But it’s weird how they talk not like other cities haha

Smart move cancelling pursuit and letting the copter pursue him. Chases are SO dangerous!!! And its always an innocent citizen(s) who gets killed

Where I live, we do not terminate chases under any circumstances. We follow through to the end.

CPD unfortunately has had a LOT of people hurt or killed in the past 10 years due to chases so there is a mandate that was given that says if it's not a 10-1 (officer needs assistance) or ACTUAL shots fired at or by police then you terminate the pursuit. Its fucked up but the city has paid out so much money in lawsuits that its ridiculous.

PH-1, the helicopter pilot, is the worst. I never heard such bad communications by a pilot. He doesn’t put more than 3 words together at a time. He also sounds like he just learned the English language a few days ago. Is the helicopter pilot a cop? If so, unbelievable.

There's actually 2 people in every Chicago police helicopter.

Not the pilot but a tactical officer. Should have made sure he can communicate clearly.

Where else would he be but swinging in the trees?

The communication from the officers to dispatch is awful.

They aren't THAT bad, but close!!
NYPD during a shooting, officer needs help, etc. all ya here is screaming and every one talking over each other. Somehow the dispatchers gets the job done!

in our area the dispatcher would say all units if you don't have an emergency stay off the air!
For a time they are pretty much ignoring the air unit jeez.

Radio discipline is a joke. In UK police digital radios prevent talkover and anyway they communicate clearly and coherently unlike these clowns. Avoiding "red mist" is taught which means not allowing adrenaline to affect officers during high stress pursuits etc.

Nearly all police departments in the US use 800 mhz digital radios. I'm not sure why Chicago doesn't but I have a feeling that it's because there are thousands of police officers and cars that would need equipping. An in car radio system for 1 car will probably cost you 2 thousand dollars. Every portable is a thousand each.

It's hardly the same game. Chicago had more homicides in 2020 than England and Wales combined. You don't even know what crime is. Have some tea mate. Cheerio to the queen. Give me a break.
