- While hunkering down in Isla Mujeres to build up our cruising kitty, we take advantage of a long weekend to explore some mayan ruins and cenotes in Coba.
Then we get right back to work in Isla Mujeres, where Jordan is working on a swim deck extension on a powerboat in the boatyard.

I like/appreciate the fact that you all find Good music to listen to
In the background instead of the “Same Old Irritating” music on
Every single video you watch ( when watching from the beginning)
SO Aggravating...!! 🙄😩. 👍✅
That platform is looking sweet. Nice job.
Hey T.J! Thanks! Jordan put all he had into it! MANY days in the boatyard, haha! What a trooper! Thanks for watching and for saying hi! -Desiree
Two thumbs up 👍👍, just amazing!! To bike through that path with such history surrounding you. I"m totally jelly. Thank you.
Hey Cryttersytter! GRACIAS! It was pretty awesome! Definitely my favorite ruin and town in the Yucatan! Thanks for watching! -Desiree
I don't know if i said this before, but if i did then I'll say it again, you two ROCK!!!
Hey PTcrusers65! AWWW! THANK YOU! So sweet of you to say! Thanks for watching!! -Desiree
Really enjoyed this video, lots of cool info and things to see. Great job explaining it all.
Made me smile to hear Desiree missed the boat :D
Visited these ruins many years ago, with a guide.
What he told us is the captain of the WINNING team was sacrificed to die with the highest honnor.
Fun to see these pictures again. The pyramid is fine to climb up, but the way down is tough!
Excellent video guys. Can't wait for the next episode.
Hey Brad! THANK YOU! The next episode is a goodie! Teaser- it's about our wedding! I'm 78% there- uploading in a cyber cafe in Belize. Been sitting for 4 hours already! I need a walk!!
Oh, fantastic ! That's going to be awesome. Tick-tock, tick-tock...... :-)
Nice job mounting that temple....
Hahah! Thanks David! We Mount Temples Like it's our Job :)
The rock music is what’s up guys! I was looking forward to seeing some Sushi for a second there though!! Glad you’re both having fun and the weather is just right! Nice work you two
Hey Derek! Glad you're digging the music! Jordan is having a GREAT time rocking out, haha! Oh no! Now I want some sushi!
Wow. I loved the view above the trees from the top of Coba. Wonderful video. Nice Job. This is one of my favorite sailing videos in long time. That's saying a lot, as I watch lots of sailing channels. Keep up the great content, and remember to have fun as you share your adventures.
Hey Peter! You're so right! That view was spectacular! We read about Coba in our lonely planet and wanted to get above the canopy to see it for ourselves! Definitely worth it! So sweet that you loved this video- THANK YOU! You're the best! Thanks for saying hi!! -Desiree
”Safety is no accident, Buddy." I like that one! Classic.
Haha! Jordan LOVES one-liners! He was so proud of that one :) Thanks for watching our ep!! -Desiree
Fantastic view from the ruins! This is an incredible journey!
That was cool.😊
Gracias!!!
that crew seems like a trip to be working with ;-) Great video guys!!
True! Jordan made some good friends and learned quite a bit of slang during this project- despite sweating all day in the boatyard, I could tell he always looked forward to BSing with the guys :)
Besides Tulum we went to Ek Balam where you can also climb the pyramids and we did a cenote that you repelled into. Quite the bit of traveling to get there and back. And that is a really cool deck project. Well done!
Thank you.
Thanks for watching Thomas!!
Way cool! Almost makes us want to sail into the Atlantic to check it out. Almost.
Ah-ha! Thanks Tom!
Very cool the game and the graphics at the runes, thanks for your video and sail on! I wish I were you two!
Can’t wait to meet up with you guys! After watching your videos I wish we had head to Mexico instead of back to Texas!
Yeah the Yucatan is pretty neat! Let us know when you make it back out here! Belize is pretty sweet so far as well! We're heading to the Atolls as soon as Jordan gets 3 episodes edited! Super excited!
Sailing Project Atticus where do you plan to cross to Caribbean?
Good one
Thanks Eric!!
Awesome, as always. :)
Thanks Geoff!!
great video guys :-)
Thanks Curacao11!!
2:50 Jordan, you dog! "I'm ferry glad we made it for the mooring" well done good sir, you'll be a great dad.
Ah yes! The famous jungle pyramid called Mount Jomahma! Not too many folks make that arduous trip!
Haha! Nice one, Bob! -Desiree
I was able to decipher the Mayan text using a highly advanced computer algorithm and Desiree is correct, its the story of a dude called Cadmael. It says this image shows him wearing a really cool hat and ear decoration, that he got for his birthday and that he is also holding on very tightly to his new go pro that was also a birthday present, the reason for him holding it so tightly is because, he lost his last one by dropping it overboard.........
:-)
Hey thx I was thinking the same but didnt know about the gopro,,,get a float back for it next time... sry missed the BD..
Haha! I knew I was onto something! Thanks for the high-tech decryption!
People become hostages to their collections. Live light, live free.
Hey SV Pomodoro! Definitely! I actually get anxious when we start to collect too much stuff. Living light is the way to go! Thanks for saying hi!! -Desiree
Someone had one job back then and it was to take notes so we would know how and why they built it, and FAILED!! Another great video! Thanks for sharing! ,,,,,,/),,,,,,
Hahaha! So true! Thanks for watching!
Cool video keep them coming
Hey guys! Thanks so much! Will do! -Desiree
This video was f*@&in' bueno.
-B
i loved coba now i need more ruins
go watch rick more hehe..
Uh-Oh! Just wait for today's episode! ANOTHER ruin- but I think it's our last in a while :) Sitting in a cyber cafe in Belize right now trying to upload -- 75% there, 1 hour left! Almost there :)
I like you, some get some try...
Great video like the get there early tip, as boat length determines speed (if not a planing hull) will the addition you are working on add a extra 1/2 knot??
🙂 bueno. Spanglish at its finest!
Haha! True!! Hope you're enjoying your Boatcation!!
Great vlog guys! What was the material used to make the floor of the deck on that boat and could it be used to replace some bad core on side deck?
Hey Natalie, the material is called Nida Core. I personally wouldn't recommend it as a core replacement, I would rather suggest using high density polyurethane foam board which you can buy at the same thickness as the core you are replacing. It is easier to work with for your application.
Sailing Project Atticus Thanks for the response. I'll look into the polyurethane foam board for the little area of the starboard side deck project I need to do on my new-to-me '83 O'Day 34 that I got a month ago.
Love yun's channel. But could we please hear Jordan say "what we have here is a failure to communicate" in a video. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Haha! I'll let him know! We'll see what we can do :) Thanks for watching!!
He kinda sounds like the warden on the movie"cool hand Luke"
Wondering what your hoodie sun shirt is, i need one. Also the email us link on your homepage does not work :P. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Hey Mike! Thanks for letting us know about the email link- I'll take a look! What browser were you using? Or were you trying to access it via phone? Also, the blue hoodie Jordan wears in our snorkeling videos is this one: amzn.to/2KtNN3h Thanks so much for saying hi! -Desiree
100 better responses, when your mate says you look hot...
1) This is what you do to me baby.
2)...
Haha! Good point, Ray! Thanks for watching! -Desiree
What do you call that core material and would it be strong enough to extend a swim platform?
Hey Ik! It's called Nida Core. Do you have any dimensions, or design ideas/photos? I can get Jordan to take a look. -Desiree
I wonder if choosing who would be team captain (and possibly die) likely started the fastest game of “Not It” ever. 🤔😱😵
Hahaha! True!
#17:27 a porn star over thr 🤣🤣😂🤣 he exactly looked like one
Jordan got full marks for that .... I
Couldn't stop my laugh ...and a tour to ruins of coba was nice...
I'm pretty sure that's where the Rebel base is.
Slangry? Get the bud a Snickers!
Haha! YES PLEASE! -Desiree
So Jordan how much does an extension like that cost?
i swear some times Jordan looks like Leonardo Di Caprio
I buy trinkets as a way to support locals. Sellers are overwhelmingly women and typically marginalized somehow. I'll normally buy something small and give them a few extra bucks
Hey Benjamin! That's a good point. We do like to find hole in the walls and support the locals by eating out when we can afford it. Thanks for watching!
My old legs would never make that climb
Jordan, Serious question. How in the world do you keep your Tilley hat from being a sweat stained mess? It looks brand new.
Hey Mark! Haha- great question! He rinses it with fresh water every day and let's it dry in the sun. That being said, it is a lot more beaten up than it looks :) Thanks for saying hi!! -Desiree
I guess that's my problem. I rinse mine out every year or so! It's so bad that I think my Tilley takes walks around the boat at night! :-) Maybe it's time to wash it again.
Hahaha! Yeah once you get in the habit it stays pretty clean! We do it with our work clothes at the end of the day as well to extend the life of our outfits, haha!
11:37 that looks like a transition was edited it was so bright
Hey, J&D, still lovin' the videos and your adventures. I asked this question in the comments for S02E13 already, but thought I'd ask again here. Does anybody know the band and song name of the tune that plays throughout this video? Starts around 6:05 and comes in and out for the next few minutes to 11:25. I'm trying to learn this on guitar, and having the complete song would be a big help. THNX!
BTW, J&D, in one of your early Cuba episodes (around S02E07/8/9?... I couldn't find the exact epiosode and scene, tho' I tried to), you have an evening bonfire on the beach with a bottle of wine and it looked as though you had a guitar with you in a soft green/gray case. Is that right? Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think I've seen that guitar appear in any other episodes.... yet.
Hi Les! Wish I could help more but we have so many songs now I don't know which one that is. We download all of our music from epidemic sound. Maybe search the lyrics there and you'll find it!
That's not dew falling from the trees... it's monkey pee and poo.
this video ruined me
Hahah! I know it, Dave! You & I both!! -Desiree
