An American here, related to 43 of 56 Signers of the Declaration, 9 of 10 of our first Presidents, 4 Mayflower families, several Colonial & 1st American colonies Governors.
I've "crossed the pond", am at Oxford furthering my genealogical research while my wife & youngest daughter, both Dartmouth College Graduate students, are attending summer classes, at Exeter College, in the centuries old student exchange program between Dartmouth College and University of Oxford.
I'm a direct descendent of the Earls Of Pembroke, namesake of 400 years old Pembroke College, University of Oxford(closed year'round to public access) where I have been most warmly welcomed through their hallowed main gates. Powerful stuff to me, and it resonates to my core. I am so very thankful to be here; through gritted teeth, thankful those Nazi bastards failed to bomb out this world heritage site.
I also wish to express my gratitude for your video(s) which have opened the doors, literally, to my past. I've beheld the book written by my cousin of 11 generations ago Sir Francis Bacon, which resides in a special display next to the works of Shakespeare in the Bodleian Library. I've quaffed pints in the same pubs frequented by the many Oxford graduates within my families. I am in awe!
Please, if you would, join me the first weekend of September in Brussels, for the annual BBW(Belgian Beer Weekend) and the sacred event of the "Blessing of the Beer Barrel", where we'll raise a glass(read several) in honor of my 39th GreatGrandFather Bishop Saint Arnould de Metz(582-640), PATRON SAINT OF BREWING. BCNU Soon!?

Kelly May, many thanks for taking the time out to watch our Oxford edition & sincere thanks for the feedback greatly appreciated. On a limited budget I would suggest move away from the main drag on the corn market & shopping center & wander the back streets exploring the colleges, Christchurch meadows. The museum’s are mainly free, if you want to go into Christchurch itself there is a fee & I would definitely pre book as that seems to be the norm everywhere these days. Food wise I would suggest Oxford market or go & see my friend Hamid at Cafe Crème on Broad street for the best coffee & panini in town. Hope this helps. Rich Jones Tour Guides Travel Guides.

Bessie, many thanks for taking the time out to watch our Oxford edition & sincere thanks for the feedback greatly appreciated. It has been a couple of years since I was last there with a car, however, I believe the Worcester street car park near the station is still in operation. We used that for about a week & it was very reasonably priced & secure & also a short walk into town. Hope this helps & enjoy your visit, let me know how you get on . Best wishes.
